For the last 8 years, Fantasy Life’s Thor Nystrom and I have been gathering 16 of the top CFF minds in the industry to conduct a pair of intensive Power Four and Group of Five Only College Fantasy Football Leagues. With the prevalence of Power Four Best Ball leagues this year, this 30-round, 16-team format allows CFF enthusiasts to see how these longtime College Fantasy experts approach these extremely deep player pools.
Below you will find the results of our 16-team Power-Four-Only Draft.

Power-Four Draft Analysis
Nate Marchese, Campus 2 Canton
I waited on QB because I like the QB fade options more in P4 than the G5. This allowed me to have strong RB/WR starters without sacrificing too much at QB (in my mind) with both system guys – Shough/Shapen and talent guys – Green/Chiles. I don’t feel great about my RB depth that I lost by targeting QBs and TE in Rounds 6-13.
Other teams that stood out:
JD: Good depth at QB and a strong starting lineup.
Luke: Lots of high-ceiling guys needed to win a league like this.
Bargains:
Ja’Kobi Lane: 12.04
Tawee Walker: 19.01
Jalil Farooq: 22.10
Thor Nystrom, Fantasy Life
In the P4, picked at the end. I like my passing game. And I liked stacking QBs Ward and Howard with their respective WR1s. If this team turns into a lemon, it will be because of the RB room. I should have prioritized depth at that position more after not taking an RB until late in round 5.
In the P4, I liked what Jared did. He got elite players at every position and did a nice job taking the value that was presented to him.
I was jealous of Froton’s pick of Shedeur Sanders at the end of R2. I considered him for my pick that led off that round. I think Andrew and Nate got good values on high-upside QBs when they took Connor Wiegman and Blake Shapen back-to-back in mid-R7. On my end, I was super stoked to get WR Emeka Egbuka in R4 (especially since it allowed me to stack him with his QB, Will Howard).
Chris Kay, Burning The Redshirt Podcast
In the Power 4 draft, I went WR/QB/QB/RB/RB, really hoping to build a more rounded-out roster. If Tet McMillan is healthy and good for 2024 then that’s a roster spot I won’t have to worry about each week. Jo’quavious Marks and Bhayshul Tuten are consistent performers for my RB position and have unique bye weeks which will be helpful. My QB room being Garrett Nussmeier and Brady Cook feels like a very high floor situation even if the best runner is Cook and his somewhat solid run game. I need LSU’s passing game to be strong to end at the top of the rankings, especially with the QB/TE stack I grabbed thanks to drafting Mason Taylor. The overall QB room lacks true upside, but the flex spots feel very high floor which should guarantee a top-half finish.
Josh’s team in the P4 league was a really strong draft. He took two superstar quarterbacks early then hammered out two receivers that I really like in Kyren Lacy and Isaiah Bond. He also took a Michigan running back in the third round, never a bad move. If Jordan Waters and Kaleb Jackson can be more workhorse than RBBC then this team has a really high floor week in and week out.
The best P4 bargains were Cam Seldon from Tennessee, Montana Lemonious-Craig from Arizona, and Xavier Townsend from UCF. Seldon is a guy who should easily work into being RB1B for Tennessee, a team that loves to utilize two running backs and do it well. MLC is the WR2 for a really quality quarterback who should have game script favor a pass-friendly offense in 2024. It also helps that Tet McMillan may not be healthy for the full season, boosting MLC’s value. Finally, Townsend is a guy who was used in scripted fashion as a true freshman. Now, two years later, the starting spot is his and we all love how fast UCF’s offense plays.

What do you think about your team?
My teams aren’t bad for league winners. Kidding. Now, I purposefully faded the early QB strategy in both leagues and feel like that worked in the P4 draft but ended up a bit dicey in the G5 draft, so time will tell if going rogue will pay off. Which is the story of my life. I ended up with two RBs (Darius Taylor and Tahj Brooks) and 2 WRs (Elic Ayomanor and Kevin Concepcion) I love, so I’m pleased with that product. The same can be said in the G5 draft (Quinton Cooley and Harrison Waylee at RB, Ricky White and DeMeer Blankumsee at WR) with the difference being the QB depth was supremely underwhelming in that player pool. I suppose my strategy can be defined as “seek a clear advantage at two positional spots and then figure out the rest from there”.
Who are the three best bargains?
Andrew Katz and Mike Bainbridge both have a good chance of winning the G5 league in my opinion. Katz grabbed an elite WR1 (Joey Hobert), two stud RBs I’m very high on (Dean Connors and Terion Stewart) while remaining strong at QB and TE. His well-rounded start stood out to me as he didn’t break the bank for any of those guys and the board seemed to fall perfectly to his approach. Drafting next to him was not a pleasurable experience. Bainbridge used a similar approach to me in that he locked up RB (Mario Anderson, Marquez Cooper) and WR (Sean Atkins, Kole Wilson) sports early, but his roster has considerably more upside due to his QBs. He took swings on Zevi Eckhaus at WSU and Dexter Williams II at Georgia Southern, two players locked into QB battles but who plays for fantasy-friendly systems and could drastically outproduce their draft capital if things fall right. You need a certain amount of luck to go your way anyway in a 16-teamer with a shallow player pool, so playing into that volatility is a good way to get an edge.
Favorite values from this draft:
RB Montell Johnson, Florida – Pick 8.3.
Johnson has a good combination of high-floor, and high-ceiling. His 14.3 FPPG from a year ago is his absolute floor, which isn’t bad since he gained double-digit fantasy points in nine games. His ceiling is higher than people realize now that he doesn’t have etn (little ETN, for the folks unfamiliar with the nickname) next to him and Pearsall soaking up targets at WR. People focus too much on the schedule while ignoring the positive reports out of camp and the friendly floor/ceiling combo.
WR Chris Brazzell, Tennessee – Pick 11.12
Brazzell is a guy I can’t stop drafting. He’s undervalued for many reasons, including the fact that he’s a transfer up, doesn’t have a starting spot assured, and Tennessee’s WRs vastly underperformed draft capital a year ago. The thing is, those reasons are all baked into his cost and make him a very cheap target with high upside! At this point, I’d be very surprised if he’s not a starting WR out wide in a Huepel offense that is about to produce oodles of fantasy goodness and shake off the stink that was Joe Milton from a year ago.
Justice, G5 Hive
What do you think about your team?
QB Is gross outside my top 2 (Nico and Hoover), RB I will need some of the longshots to come through to be able to compete. Overall, I am not in love with my team at all for the P4 draft. I think I felt the same way about the P4 draft that most others felt about the G5 Draft.
Other than your own, which teams stand out to you?
I like the team that Andrew Katz from Burning the Redshirts drafted if he gets some Wide Receivers to hit, he could be really good. I like the team that Zach Hall from Fantasy Points put together, I think he is my pre-season favorite to win it, really solid at QB and RB. If Zach gets some WR’s to hit then look out.
Who are the three best bargains of the P4 draft?
Sedrick Irvin, RB, Stanford, Round 12 by Chris Moxley (Campus2Canton) – the Standford offense should be improved this season and Irvin could be a big benefactor.
Dorian Singer, WR, Utah, Round 14 by Eric Froton (NBC Sports) – by all accounts Singer looked really good in the Spring and will be a favorite target for Cam Rising.
Kobe Pace, RB, Virginia, Round 20 by Thor Nystrom (Fantasy Life) – we heard lots of positive comments from the coaching staff in the Spring about Pace’s usage, if he lives up to the hype this is easily the steal of the draft!
Joe DiSalvo, The CFF Site
How do you like your team?
Given the scoring system (6-pt pass TDs) and roster requirements (2 QB starters) in this P4-only, 16-team format, I was not going to waste any time getting my quarterbacks because this scoring system invites the position to tip the scales towards the teams with the best quarterback group. Therefore, I decided to roll the dice with Jalen Milroe in Kalen DeBoer’s system and Riley Leonard in Mike Denbrock’s offense. Leonard is a guy I’m extremely high on, and I believe I have drafted him in every one of my drafts so far this year because I find the value is too hard to pass on. I feel his ADP is lower than where I project because he was not a participant in spring practice. Another reason for targeting the quarterbacks early was because I knew that I would get good value at the receiver position later in the draft. Still, the urge to draft Alabama receiver Germie Bernard and pair him with Milroe was too tempting to pass on in round 3, even though I knew it would put me chasing running backs. Problem solved.
With my next three selections I went RB back-to-back-to-back, with Quinshon Judkins, Dylan Sampson, and Parker Jenkins. Then, I felt it was time to address my receiver need, so I selected four in the next six rounds. The Indiana early-season schedule looks juicy, so I was excited when Elijah Serratt came to me in round 7. I think SMU receiver Jordan Hudson could have a breakout year, so I jumped on him in round 9. I happen to think that CJ Daniels has a chance to emerge as LSU’s WR1, which is why I took him in round 11. And from what I’ve seen of the USC receivers, I happen to think that JaKobi Lane could finish the year as the Trojans top wideout. If Texas Tech’s Behren Morton stays healthy, at the end of the year we may look back and realize he should have gone higher than where I selected him in round 8. My last two picks of the draft were flyers at the quarterback position, and I happen to think that either Auburn’s Walker White or Washington’s Demond Williams will finish the year as a starter.
Other than your own, which team(s) stand out to you?
Every time I evaluate drafts of this size, I do so with the understanding that the winner of this best ball league will be the owner who won the last 15 rounds, but looking at the first 8-10 rounds, there are some rosters that catch my eye. I think Mike’s decision to punt quarterbacks in the G5 draft hurt his roster, but the quality of depth at the position in the P4 player pool allowed him to build his roster early with receivers and running backs, and then he found decent value at quarterback in rounds eight and nine. I think Nate did a nice job building a foundation at the three main skill positions within the first eight rounds. I really like what Andrew did at quarterback and running back, but punting on receivers early may be his downfall in the long run. Also, I want to give shout-outs to Zach, Justice, and Luke P, as I think all three of those guys had solid selections through 10 to 12 rounds of the draft.
Who are the three best bargains of the draft?
I know many people are down on Georgia TE Ben Yurosek, but I still like the guy and think he’s going to be a good fantasy asset this fall, so I think Carp getting him in round 12 was tremendous value. I think Mike selecting DJ U. and Cade Klubnik in rounds eight and nine were bargains, and for him tremendous bargains, because had he waited any longer on quarterback the cupboard would have been bare. And, I like Thor’s pick of Ohio State QB Will Howard in round 3. I have been staying away from quarterbacks early and trying to pair Riley Leonard with Will Howard in as many drafts as I can. Had I not selected Milroe in round 1 and was eyeing the Leonard-Howard combination, I would have probably sent Thor a nasty gram for drafting Howard.
Luke Probasco, G5 Hive
What do you think about your team?
I like how my team turned out. Going QB in 3 of my first 4 picks could be my downfall. However, grabbing Garrett Green, Noah Fifita, and Thomas Castellanos early allowed me to draft whatever value I saw in future picks at RB and WR. Spoiler, running back went quick. I grabbed 3 of them rather quickly. I then found myself picking WR round after round. 8 of 11 picks were WRs between rounds 7-17.
Other than your own, which teams stand out to you?
Chris Moxley, from Campus2Canton, has a strong team. His team has great depth at WRs and QBs. We will see if his RBs can pop off week to week.
Andrew Katz, from Burning the Redshirt, is another team that looks strong. I love his RB room. His QBs are safe, but he has some upside guys too like Preston Stone. If he can hit on some of his WRs, this team will be hard to beat.
Nate Marchese, from Campus2Canton, has a strong WR room, and I like his RB depth. Let’s see if a few of his QBs can hit. He took 6 QBs in an 8 pick span between rounds 6-13.
Who are the three best bargains of the draft?
Justice, from G5 Hive, grabbed Zeon Chriss (Houston QB) at 18.03. Grabbing a potential starting QB this late was a nice grab.
Justin (VolumePigs), from VolumePigs, grabbed Kalen Mullings (Michigan RB) at 14.07. While I have my questions with Mullings and this new staff, this could be a great pick. If this new staff does what they have in the past, Mullings could be living in the endzone all year.
Andrew Katz, from Burning the Redshirt, grabbed De’Zhaun Stribling (Oklahoma State WR) at 14.10. Before getting injured early in the year, he had 26 targets in 4 games. I like Stribling’s upside here in the 14th round.
Chris Moxley, Campus 2 Canton
I like this team fine but I underestimated how quickly QBs would dry up (on both sides really). A start of Virginia Tech dual threat Kyron Drones and Iowa State’s Rocco Becht at the position is nothing to complain about though. Depth concerns me at the position.
I like the wide receivers here a lot but getting Missouri stud Luther Burden at 1.05 was really nice. I can work with Burden as my WR1 and Wisconsin’s’ Will Pauling as WR2 if we expect the Badgers to take a second-year leap under Phil Longo. Rounding it out with Minnesota WR1 Daniel Jackson and speedy Georgia Tech sophomore Eric Singleton feels really nice, especially with the depth of this league. I pivoted to other positions later in the draft after going WR four of the first eight picks.
Running back is highly fragile with Wisconsin starter Chez Mellusi and presumed Arkansas RB1 Ja’Quinden Jackson early. Stanford is a team I love and while Sedrick Irvin is MY GUY, he’s an unreliable RB3 and my depth after him only gets worse. If my team doesn’t perform this is where the issues will come from. Can I strong enough production together from FSU’s Lawrence Toafili, Pitt back Rodney Hammond who underwhelmed last season, and transfers Treshaun Ward and Kadarius Calloway? I don’t love it.
Other than your own, which teams stand out to you?
I think Josh’s team has a crazy amount of variability and if things break right, could absolutely dominate this draft. Quarterback is a concern but Ole Miss could a smash and Jaxson Dart has top-three QB in his range of outcomes. I love first time starter Avery Johnson’s upside especially on the ground as he replaces Will Howard for Kansas State.
I also like what Andrew did. I think a lot of his picks in the top 10 rounds were valued at their respective draft slots. Receiver is really his biggest concern but the QBs/RBs are probably the best in the draft.
Who are the three best bargains of each draft?
1.) Jahmal Edrine, WR, Purdue 19.04
2.) Keanu Hill, TE, BYU 25.05
3.) Malachi Riley, WR, Arizona 29.02
Andrew P. Katz, Burning The Redshirt Podcast
What do you think about your team?
In both leagues, my goal was to prioritize quality at all positions but WR and then jam a ton of starting WRs in the back half of the draft. It mostly worked out fine as a strategy in my opinion, though in G5 I’m in numbers at QB and you could argue the quality leaves something to be desired. If I get P4 QB injuries I’m in trouble as well. I really like my P4 RBs but admittedly there is a lot of projection there. I got a lot of my late-round targets in both leagues and never felt like I had to look up depth charts, research players or whatever just to get by. I would say these teams came together aligning with my initial vision and are set up for success.
Other than your own, which teams stand out to you?
I like Justice’s P4 squad a lot, all across that draft I see players I believe in and think the roster came together well on the whole. Zach’s squad is nice as well, with contributors across the entirety of the draft, I don’t think he’ll ever struggle for floor in a given week.
It’s so frustrating drafting with Yonke in any format — I always feel like he’s in my head (especially with respect to his affinity for Pacific Coast based players). I thought he lined up the teams he wanted to target and stacks (ECU, Miami) smartly and also took a bunch of the later-round players (Eric Rivers, Porter Rooks) I was also considering.
Who are the three best bargains of each draft?
I would love to have gotten my hands on Conner Harrell late. Justice got him in the 23rd round and I really could have used one more QB. That (Conner’s ascension to UNC QB1) feels like a “when not if,” to me. I can’t decide between Joe taking Makai Lemon in the 28th and Mike taking Quentin Joyner in the 22nd, though I’m pretty sure both will have a bunch of usable weeks at very nice prices. Our Humble Aggregator taking Micah Hudson in the 16th is super fun. Joey McGuire says a lot of endlessly positive stuff about his players, and has talked about Micah heading into Fall Camp, so it’s tough to tell when to buy in and when not to, but this still feels like a pick I would have liked to make and see play out on my squad, personally.
On the G5 side, Jared taking Mekhi Shaw and Chris taking Ife Adeyi stand out, as there is no reason they can’t be WR1 on their teams and came at significantly cheaper prices than Louis Brown and Noah Smith. Danny O’Neill to Justice in round 25 worries me. No info or anything but it’s easy to see how a couple weeks into the season he could be producing at a Top 5 Round level if AJ Duffy isn’t getting it done.

What do you think about your team?
I was picking 15th in this draft and was a bit worried about the spot and what I would get in the first round. I was able to get Jackson Arnold who I think has a high ceiling but unproven in that starting role. I followed up with Utah QB Cam Rising in Rd 6. He is one of my favorite values this year. He’s coming off an injury so that is always a bit questionable but if he is back to form he is a great value at that pick. I had to pick Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola and I actually like the value in Rd 13. He was going around guys that are backups or in competitions. Raiola is going to start and might not put up elite numbers but as QB4 on my roster, I can live with only a handful of solid weeks from him.
I love my running back room. Jordan James in that Oregon Offense should be good. I also was able to get RB Chip Trayanum from Kentucky who just churns out top CFF running backs. Roydell Williams in Rd 9 felt like great value as well. CJ Donaldson in Rd 11. White is going earlier but Donaldson is going to be a part of the West Virginia offense and will have his weeks. Everyone is taking Texas A&M running back Ruben Owens so I’m grabbing Leveon Moss who is actually listed as the starter in quite a few depth charts. We have him as RB1. It could be RBBC but such great value.
I took a few more risks at Receiver. Tre Harris of Ole Miss has such a high ceiling but can be real boom/bust. Jeremiah Hunter transferred to Washington from Cal. He had a solid spring but was overshadowed by Denzel Boston. There is room for two solid receivers in that offense though. Xavier Henderson, Kelly Akharaiyi, and Jamal Banks are three guys I grabbed in the middle rounds that should be WR1 on their teams. Then I tried to round out with possible valuable WR2/3 in Traeshon Holden, Taylor Morin, Theo Wease, and Xavier Townsend.
Other than your own, which teams stand out to you?
I never like to wait on quarterbacks in drafts but if I ever do I hope I draft it as well as Bainbridge did. He loaded up on RB with DJ Giddens, Abu Sama, and Nick Singleton and paired them with Evan Stewart, Squirrel White, and Jordan Moore at receiver. Such a great start. He ended up with DJ Uiagalelei, Cade Klubnik and Tyler Van Dyke as his top three quarterbacks. He might not be elite there but has some really solid options with good upside. He also loaded up on receivers late in the draft and he’s bound to hit on one or two of those guys. Just a really solid draft. And it was great to see him take a Husker.
Who are the three best bargains of each draft?
Thor took Kobe Pace in Rd 20. That offense isn’t great but he should be RB1 and I don’t think there were any RB1s left in the draft at that point. In fact, it had been a few rounds. And they want to really involve Pace this year. He won’t be an elite RB but in RD 20, great value. One of my favorite late-round receivers came in Rd 19. Jahmal Edrine. He was out last year but we saw what Deion Burks could do in that offense. Edrine is primed to be that guy this year. My favorite later-round pick was Leveon Moss. I still have him as RB1 and like I mentioned above he could be in an RBBC but if they decide to ride with him that is great value.

What do you think about your teams?
I definitely like my P4 team more than G5. Probably reached a bit at QB in hindsight. Whenever you’re in a more experimental format, the standard ADPs are less reliable and this has a destabilizing effect on drafting. I think I also took more shots on young freshman WRs hoping to find the next Kevin Concepcion or Eugene Wilson than I probably should have.
The RB room is a strength, as is usually the case with my drafts. Overall, I like the P4 team.
Other than your own, which teams stand out to you?
I like Andrew’s beginning of the P4 draft—if he hits on a few of those later WRs, he’ll have a pretty strong team because the RB room is solid, his back to back picks of LJ Martin and Cam Cook later in the draft could be huge for him.
Bainbridge got quite a few of my guys in the P4 one, so I’ll mention him too.
Who are the three best bargains of each draft?
JD getting Max Klare in the 14th, considering some of the other TEs that went already, I thought was a nice value.

What do you think about your teams?
Overall, I like my P4 team a lot. I decided to try to snag two QBs with elite potential early on. After doing several P4-only drafts, I like the value of selecting Jaxson Dart with Pick 12 and Avery Johnson with Pick 21. Considering the format is best ball, I chose to go after high-upside WRs in elite offenses while I pursued depth at the RB position. Depth will always be a concern with these teams when you are drafting with 16 managers, but cutting the player pool in half. If my players stay healthy and hit their potential, then I like my odds of finishing near the top.
Other than your own, which teams stand out to you?
The two teams that stand out the most to me are Andrew and JD. I like that Andrew loaded up on QBs and RBs early on. While he chose to punt the WR positions a bit, he still chose high-upside WRs in good offenses. I like the strategy in best ball where you get nothing for finishing in the middle of the pack. JD also stood out to me through targeting high-volume RBs, solidified top WRs, and high-ceiling QBs in his first six picks. It was a well-balanced approach that let him pick the best available player throughout the rest of the draft. I think JD gave himself the best chance to win the league.
Who are the three best bargains of each draft?
I thought Jadarian Price, Le’Veon Moss, and Ja’Corey Brooks were the best bargains. If they end up as the top player at their position on their respective teams, then each of them will be much more value than their draft spot indicates.

What do you think about your team?
Establishing a strong QB1/2 combo was a major priority for me with the 16-team P4-Only roster pool. Gabriel and Shedeur are as good as any top tandem in the league considering the 6-Point Passing TD format, but I need Anthony Colandrea to be named starter at UVA or else Cade McNamara will be my QB4. I’m content with my top-5 RBs and think one of Glover/Whittington/Tawee Walker will end up as a weekly starter due to either injury or performance issues. Waiting to address WR until late was the right call, as I grabbed Da’Quan Felton/Duce Robinson, Kaden Prather, and J.J. Jones after Round 20. Toss in a pretty strong TE room with a potential difference-maker in Gee Scott lurking around in R25.
Other than your own, which teams stand out to you?
I like JD and Andrew P. Katz’s builds where they aggressively attacked QB in the early-middle rounds before pivoting to skill/TE players from R13 onwards. That strategy kept each of their teams from falling victim to the quarterback shortage later on.

What do you think about your teams?
Similar to my G5 team, I punted QB and played the matchup game with the position, pairing quarterbacks with differing schedules that fit well in a bestball format. This isn’t advisable in redrafts, having to decide when to start a middle-of-the-road option like a Cade Klubnik or D.J. Uiagalelei given their lack of consistency. With 16 teams, Round 5-6 should have been the starting point at selecting the QB position if you faded in the first couple of rounds. Very pleased with the first seven rounds, selecting top 15 RBs like DJ Giddens and Abu Sama, and surrounding them with three wide receivers in Evan Stewart, Squirrel White, and Jordan Moore – all three of which should hit 100 targets this season if they remain healthy. Similar to my G5 team, QB play will dictate the result here.
Other than your own, which teams stand out to you?
Really like what Nate did here, punting QB until Round 6, but then landing perfect mid-round options for this type of scoring (6 pt TD). Tyler Shough and Blake Shapen both play in high-volume passing offenses, paired with two dual-threats in Taylen Green and Aidan Chiles. Exactly what you want from CFF quarterbacks.
Who are the three best bargains of each draft?
P5 – Houston WR Joseph Manjack IV isn’t the sexiest of selections, but this is a possible WR1 that led his team in touchdowns (6) a year ago, and went in Round 20. Rarely does Chris Kay make a wise CFF selection, but Kendrick Law received a ton of praise by his positional coach early in fall camp and may end up as the WR2 in a Kalen DeBoer offense. That screams value in Round 24. The same could be said about prized 5-star Ryan Williams who went in Round 25. Lastly, one of the Arizona wide receivers not named Tet McMillan will have value this year, whether it be Montana Lemonious-Craig or Malachi Riley, as there are over 150 vacated targets at Arizona. Both are going beyond Round 20 in drafts.

What do you think about your team?
I really liked the way I started my Power 4 team. Anchoring my running back room early with Hampton and then not drafting another allowed me to still feel good about the position while targeting position groups who would dry up fast in the draft. Speaking of, quarterbacks became a premium as the draft went on and I was happy to grab both KJ Jefferson and Grayson McCall early. My mistake came when I waited on getting my last couple of quarterbacks late and had to take my chance with two high-upside backups, who could end up being zeros most of the season. For my receivers, I feel better and better about them. Volume is the name of the game and being able to grab 4 receivers early who I can almost lock into 100 targets in Presley, Fields, Hudson and Bell feels great.
Other than your own, which teams stand out to you?
I mentioned before that QB became a premium in the draft and many drafters felt the need to target the position early, that was not the case with Nate Marchese’s team. I really like what Nate was able to do with his team and it has nothing to do with the fact he kept sniping me over and over again. Nate waited until the 6th round to draft his first QB and in the meantime was able to load up some high-end WR and RB options. If you’re gonna wait in QB, you have to be able to identify values and Nate did a great job, finding some risky QBs with high upside systems and/or skill sets to roll the dice on and I think it will pay off for him.
Who are the three best bargains of each draft?
In the power 4 league, the three players who I think came at the best discount are Max Johnson (13.16), Antonio Williams (15.08), and Ryan Williams (25.04). In a format like this where QB is a premium, Max Johnson in the 13th feels like a check that will cash. Yes, I expect UNC’s passing game to take a step back and I don’t expect Johnson to run like Maye did, but this was still a functional offense last year and Johnson will have his moments. Antonio Williams being taken halfway through the draft still boggles my mind. Yes, Garrett Riley likes to spread the ball around, but Williams was sorely missed last season and if spring is any indication, his and Klubnik’s connection is the strongest on the team. If Clemson gets back to the playoff this year, Williams will be at the center of it and a worthy CFF pick. Lastly, as we get closer to the season, the more the beat report around Alabama seems confident that true freshman Ryan Williams will start at receiver for the tide. It would be absolutely massive, if those reports pay off, to get a Kalen DeBoer outside WR this late in the draft.
