Draft season is complete. We all had our own view on the Quarterback position in drafts. Some of us wanted a matchup difference maker and the weekly advantage of a Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson, others waited a bit for one of their favorite veterans like Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, or Tom Brady. Regardless of the route you took, you got a guy you’re more than comfortable with. Regardless of the path you took on draft day, we’ll all have to adjust on the fly during the season. Each week, I’ll be gauging the position based on the matchups for that week. We’ll kick things off today with my Week 1 Quarterback Rankings!
Don’t overthink Week 1 at this position, especially this season, no one knows the chemistry and true ability of each defense for a couple weeks. For the most part, you should start the quarterback you invested in for a reason, analyze the offensive flow, personnel, and defensive play around the league and go from there each week.
Say what?! Your fantasy football league isn’t using Fantrax this season? Unthinkable! Check out all the features Fantrax has to offer, and we think you’ll be singing a different tune for the coming season.
Some of our favorite Fantasy quarterbacks drew the short end of the stick in week 1. Tough matchups are going to affect players rankings such as Kyler Murray (At San Francisco) and Matthew Stafford (against Chicago). In other cases, you can expect big games from guys with plus matchups after this crazy offseason, Josh Allen vs the Jets and Ben Roethlisberger against the Giants are my favorites for the upcoming week. Remember, don’t overreact to week 1. Stick with the stud QBs through tough matchups. More often than not, they will still provide you with a solid floor regardless of their opponent.
