Week 14 is here and it’s crunch time, folks. Playoffs are around the corner in fantasy leagues, and while we only have one more bye week to deal with, it’s a doozy. Six teams are off this week with MyCole Pruitt, Cole Kmet, Robert Tonyan, Juwan Johnson and Logan Thomas all out. Combine that with injuries at an already-thin position, and you may need some lineup help. But don’t sweat it. I’ve got you covered with my Week 14 tight end rankings and notes.
On the injury front, Kyle Pitts underwent knee surgery and will miss the rest of the season. In Cleveland, David Njoku is dealing with a knee injury and didn’t suit up in Week 13. If he misses more time, Harrison Bryant and Pharaoh Brown will split time in a two-man tight end committee. Hayden Hurst is doubtful for Week 14 after suffering a calf injury last week. Mitchell Wilcox and Devin Asiasi should see increased playing time this week but are unreliable fantasy options. As always, stay on top of the team injury reports and adjust your lineups as needed.
Tight End Notes
Bye Weeks: ATL, CHI, GB, IND, NO, WAS
- Hunter Henry had a dud of a game last week, hauling in two targets for 13 yards. However, he has five targets in each of his last two games and has a chance to make some noise this week against Arizona. The Cardinals are the leakiest unit against tight ends. They’ve given up the most receptions (83), receiving yards (880), touchdowns (9), and the second-most fantasy points per game (12.2) to the position. Don’t overthink this one, folks. Henry is a top-8 option for me in Week 14.
- Gerald Everett is coming off one of his better games of the season. He caught five of his six targets for a season-high 80 yards. This week, Everett gets a favorable matchup against a Miami defense that is bottom-five against tight ends. The Dolphins have given up the second-most receptions to the position, and the seven passing touchdowns they’ve allowed are third-most this season. Everett is a solid play this week.
- There was a Greg Dulcich sighting last week! After failing to score or top 30 receiving yards in his previous three games, Dulcich led the Broncos in targets (8) and receiving yards (85) in Week 13. Dulcich lacks scoring upside but he gets high volume. He’s played 78% of snaps this season, and his 16 targets over the past three games are tied for the team lead. The Chiefs are a middling defense against tight ends, and the Broncos should be throwing a lot in this one. Also, Dulchich could see a bump in targets if Courtland Sutton is limited this week.
- Chigoziem Okonkwo should be on your tight end radar. The rookie has five targets in each of his past two games, and his combined 103 receiving yards over that span is tied for fifth-most at the position. He also has at least 30 receiving yards in each of the past five games. The big-play tight end gets a favorable matchup this week against a Jaguars defense that has allowed the 13th-most fantasy points and sixth-most receiving yards to the position. Okonkwo has some upside in Week 14, especially if Treylon Burks misses time.
- Daniel Bellinger could be worth a flier this week. He returned in Week 13 after missing four games with an eye injury and caught all five of his targets for 24 yards. He also played on all but two snaps in his return. A divisional matchup against the Eagles will be tough, but Bellinger could be a nice dump-off option for Daniel Jones against Philadelphia’s pass rush.
