It’s Fantasy Baseball draft season! While some of us degenerates were drafting back in October and November, now is the time where fantasy baseball drafts really kick into high gear. We here at FantraxHQ have been pumping out a ton of great content all offseason long and are diving head-first into our 2022 Fantrax Fantasy Baseball Draft Kit. A big part of any draft kit are the rankings, and we’re continuing our staff consensus rankings for 2022 with our fantasy baseball shortstop rankings.
Below you’ll find the consensus rankings that nine of our MLB writers were involved in. The writers involved are Eric Cross, Chris Clegg, Lauren Auerbach, Mick Ciallela, Justin Dunbar, Ryan Venancio, Mike Carter, Logan Kritzeck, and Matt Heckman. Each writer provided anywhere from 40-50 shortstops so we could create our consensus top-40.
As usual, the shortstop position is absolutely loaded. Even more than in years past. The top-3 below are all consensus top-10 picks and you could see at least 15 being taken within the first 100 picks on draft day. The depth might lead you to want to wait, but don’t wait too long. Before you know it, it’s pick 170 and you have to take one of the names in the 20s in our rankings.
