It’s go time. If you’re reading this, you’ve likely made your league’s fantasy football playoffs. Congratulations! Fortunately, the tight end position is relatively strong as there aren’t too many injuries affecting the Week 15 tight end rankings. Additionally, a handful of streaming options could prove productive as we head into the first round of the playoffs. With that in mind, let’s get to the rankings and notes. Good luck in Week 15!
Injuries to monitor for Week 15
- Dalton Kincaid is day-to-day with a shoulder injury. If he suits up, he’ll be a back-end TE1 against the Cowboys in Week 15. UPDATE: Kincaid was removed from the injury report and will play on Sunday.
- Dalton Schultz missed two consecutive weeks with a hamstring injury and is questionable for Week 15. Schultz will be hard to trust if C.J. Stroud isn’t under center. UPDATE: Schultz will suit up but is a TE2 in a brutal matchup against Tennessee.
- Darren Waller recently came off the IR and could return to action this week. If he plays, he gets a favorable matchup against the Saints. UPDATE: Waller is expected to return in Week 15 but will likely see limited snaps.
Tight End Notes
- Isaiah Likely is coming off his best game of the season, hauling in five of his seven targets for 83 yards and a touchdown. He should continue to roll this week in a favorable matchup against Jacksonville. The Jaguars have given up the seventh-most receiving yards and fifth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. In Week 14, David Njoku carved them up for 91 yards and two touchdowns. I’m high on Likely this week, ranking him as the TE6 in my Week 15 tight end rankings.
- Logan Thomas has a fantastic Week 15 matchup. He faces a Rams unit that has allowed the third-most fantasy points and fourth-most receiving yards to the position. They’ve also given up seven touchdowns to tight ends, tied for most this season. The Commanders are coming off their bye week and should be able to take advantage. Thomas has seen at least five targets in all but two of his previous seven games. With the Rams coming on strong lately, Sam Howell will likely need to sling the ball to keep pace. Thomas ranks as a back-end TE1 for me in Week 15.
- Chigoziem Okonkwo has quietly been one of the steadier tight ends of late. He’s seen at least five targets and logged at least 45 yards in each of his last three games. Additionally, his 153 yards in that span are good for 10th-best among the position. The looks and yards should keep coming in Week 15. He faces a leaky Houston defense tied for the most receptions allowed to tight ends. They’ve also given up the third-most receiving yards and fourth-most fantasy points per game to the position. Okonkwo is one of my favorite streamers in Week 15 and has the added bonus of facing the Texans again in Week 17. He’s a mid-tier TE2 with upside in my Week 15 tight end rankings.
- Pat Freiermuth has seen 23 targets in the last three weeks, tied for third-most at the position. However, he hasn’t cracked 30 receiving yards in his last two games. That should change in Week 15. Freiermuth faces a Colts defense that has allowed the fifth-most receptions and ninth-most receiving yards to the position. Additionally, tight ends are averaging 10.9 half-PPR points against them, tied for sixth-most. Look for Freiermuth to bounce back in Week 15.
