Just a few short years ago, the Washington Nationals won the World Series with Juan Soto leading the charge. At that same time, the Nationals’ farm system was considered one of the worst in baseball. But over the last few years, the Nationals have really revamped their farm system. They’ve done so through various outlets as well, doing well in the draft, INTL free agent market, and via trade. Yes, this Washington Nationals Top Prospects list was boosted by the Juan Soto trade, something that I’m sure will sting for Nationals fans for a long time. But that’s in the past now and there’s nothing we can do about it.
What we can do is focus on the exciting talent currently in this Washington farm system. They acquired James Wood, Robert Hassell III, and Jarlin Susana (along with CJ Abrams and MacKenzie Gore) from San Diego in the Soto trade, and that trio makes up 30% of the top-10 below for both Chris and Eric. While Hassell struggled following the trade, Wood and Susana flourished, with Wood rising into the top-10 overall of many fantasy-centric lists.
