2024 Fantasy Football: Week 1 Wide Receiver Rankings

Here we are, the best time of the year! Week 1 is here and if you are stressing who to start, I got you on my top-60 wide receiver rankings. This is the most stressful week for fantasy managers as we don’t know who will pop off. Is Puka Nacua going to repeat or is Cooper Kupp going to return to his greatness?

We also are dealing with Ja’Marr Chase possibly sitting out as well as CeeDee Lamb and Brandon Aiyuk could be rusty in Week 1 after sitting out. But, to make you feel better, these are veterans and don’t need too many practice reps.

On that note let’s get into my notes for my Week 1 wide receiver rankings.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2024 season.

Wide Receiver Notes

  • Mike Evans is my WR4 for Week 1. Every year this guy is consistent. His age is getting up there which is why he isn’t going in the first round, but he should be going early in the second round. Nothing has changed in the Buccaneers offense and this week he is at home against the Commanders. This game should be high scoring as last year the Commanders gave up just over 35 fantasy points per game to wide receivers. This is a safe start and could be WR1 this week.
  • In the same game, I have Terry McLaurin as a must-start this week. He is my WR27 this week. This game is going to be a shoot-out. But, besides that, McLaurin is going to be the main option all year. Curtis Samuel and Johan Dotson are both gone. Also, this could be the best quarterback McLaurin has played with. In the past, he has played with  Case Keenum, Dwayne Haskins, Colt McCoy, Alex Smith, Kyle Allen, Taylor Heinicke, Garrett Gilbert, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Carson Wentz and Sam Howell. This is going to be a bounce-back year for McLaurin, and on top of that the Buccaneers gave up 30.8 fantasy points per game to wide receivers last year.
  • If you are scared of starting a rookie, don’t be afraid to start Malik Nabers. I know Daniel Jones is his quarterback, but the Giants are going to be playing from behind all year. And this week they have the Vikings with Sam Darnold as their quarterback. I expect this to be a high-scoring game and Nabers will have a huge game.
  • Lastly, I have Aiyuk as my WR24 against the Jets. There are two reasons why I have Aiyuk so low. One is that he sat out all of training camp and preseason. I know that he is a veteran and shouldn’t need to practice too much to produce, but on the other hand, he is going against one of the top pass defenses in the league. I would consider sitting Aiyuk this week. The Jets only gave up 17.4 fantasy points to wide receivers last year.
