2024 Fantasy Football: Week 13 Wide Receiver Streamers and Sleepers

Take a deep breath, everyone. There are no teams on bye this week so other than injuries you have your full team to roll out. That doesn’t mean decisions are easy. We still have plenty of wide receivers who are underproducing. The NFL still has a handful of backup and third-string quarterbacks playing. There are still very tough matchups for our wide receivers. Fantrax is here to continue to give you wide receiver streamers and sleepers to help you get that needed win in Week 13.

Wide receiver streamers

Jameson Williams – Detroit Lions

Let’s cherish that we get three games on Thanksgiving. I love when one of them has one of the best offenses in the NFL. You and I want a piece of that offense in my lineup. Yes, you are starting Amon-Ra St Brown. Yes, you are starting both Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. I think this week you can also start wide receiver Jameson Williams. Williams is the big play receiver for the team. He is the wow factor when the Lions need momentum back on their side. The third-year wide receiver has a 70-yard touchdown potential every time he touches the ball.

He gets a slightly tough matchup this week against the Chicago Bears. They have one of the best secondaries in the league but I believe the Lions are good enough to beat them. The Lions have been throwing the ball fewer than we really want to see but who can blame them with the running game they have? What is nice is that the running game opens up the deep ball play to Williams. That’s where Williams shines with his 13.12 yards per target average and 22.42 yards per reception average.

Christian Watson – Green Bay Packers

Another big-play receiver I love in Week 13 is Christian Watson for the Green Bay Packers. Another Thanksgiving game. Watson has been the textbook definition of boom and bust play. Why do I like him this week to be a boom? First, he has had a drop in each of the last two games, which would have been long completions if not touchdowns. It’s a game of inches and those inches have been against Watson lately. I still like that he is getting shots. Watson should see additional snaps with fellow wide receiver Romeo Doubs leaving the Week 12 game with a concussion and his status is questionable on a short week.

The Packers get the surging Miami Dolphins. A team that has a solid cornerback in Jalen Ramsey and a solid safety in Jevon Holland. Will either of those be focusing on Christian Watson? Probably not. That duty will most likely fall to Strom Duck, yes that is a real player, and Jordan Poyer at the safety position. I think Watson’s speed can beat both of them and open up some plays down the field. He might only get two of those shots a game but when they connect it’s massive for your fantasy team. It’s what we saw in Week 11 where he had four receptions for 150 yards.

Jordan Addison – Minnesota Vikings

Jordan Addison had been a letdown most of this season. Recently that hasn’t been the case. Why is that? My theory is that the return of tight end T.J. Hockenson has opened up the field for Addison. In the five games before Hockenson returned Addison only had one game where he was a worthy fantasy play with only one game in double-digit fantasy points. In the four games since Hockenson has come back Addison has had double-digit fantasy points in three of them. I expect that to continue in Week 13.

The Vikings go up against the Arizona Cardinals. A team that has two very good safeties but struggles at the cornerback position. With their best safety Budda Baker probably trying to help take away Hockenson or prevent Justin Jefferson from going deep, Addison will see plus matchups. He should shine again and continue to put up the numbers we have seen the past four weeks.

Wide receiver Sleepers

Devaughn Vele- Denver Broncos

Are the Denver Broncos good? Are they an offense you want a part of? At least in the passing game, Yes. While I love Courtland Sutton and the WR16 year he is putting up I like Devaughn Vele a lot, especially as a wide receiver sleeper in Week 13. Simply put he is taking over as the wide receiver two in the Broncos offense and is part of why rookie Bo Nix is in the rookie of the year conversation. Over the past three weeks, Vele has seen his snap share jump from 45% to over 60%. He is seeing more targets and has three games in a row with double-digit fantasy points.

Week 13 he goes up against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have been better as of late but their secondary hasn’t improved. They have one good cornerback in Denzel Ward. PFF.com rates him as the 15th-best cover corner. Ward’s projected to be across for Sutton most of the game. Vele runs most of his routes out of the slot. The slot corner for the Browns is Greg Newsome III. This year he hasn’t played up to his normal level. I expect Vele to take advantage and be a big part of the game plan for the Broncos. He’s not the rookie wide receiver most expected to shine in the Broncos offense but he is the guy you want on your team and in your lineup this week.

David Moore- Carolina Panthers

Who? That’s probably what you are asking yourself but you need to know who David Moore is and why I think he is a wide receiver sleeper in Week 13. It’s more than the fact that he scored in Week 12. That certainly does help but there is more. I’m looking for receivers who are getting opportunities. The passing attack for the Carolina Panthers hasn’t been amazing but David Moore has played on over 80% of their snaps in the past four weeks. He’s out there running routes and has started to benefit from it. Part of that was Jalen Coker missing the game against the Kansas City Chiefs but also the fact the Panthers were coming off their bye week and had time to start implementing plays for different people.

Moore is one of those people. Week 13 might not be as good of a matchup as Week 12 was but he should still be viable as a sleeper play. The Panthers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs have two solid cornerbacks in Zyon McCollum and Jamel Dean. The matchups and play calling will be the difference between Moore having a good game and a bad game. If they can get him across from other corners he has the experience to win. He did play for the Bucs last season so he faced these defenders in practice every day. He knows how to beat them. If you need him in a deep league or just dealing with injuries he is a sneak sleeper play.

John Metchie- Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are finally healthy. Nico Collins is back playing a significant number of snaps. Tank Dell is starting to flourish in his role. The only missing piece is Stefon Diggs who will miss the rest of the season. Quietly there has been a wide receiver stepping up and that is John Metchie. After struggling to find playing time early in the season, rarely surpassing 20% snap share he has gotten his chance now. With Diggs out Metchie has yet to play under 60% of the team’s snaps. His targets have been limited but it’s only been a few games and his chemistry with quarterback CJ Stroud is growing.

Week 13 provides the perfect breakout game for Metchie. Playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars Metchie will be playing mostly from the slot position. The Jaguars slot corner is rookie Jarrian Jones who has such limited experience that PFF.com has yet to grade him. CJ Stroud, despite his down year, is still a very good quarterback who can read defenses and exploit any mistake or miss coverage. That’s what I think Metchie will have this week and can be a great wide receiver sleeper for your fantasy team.
