2024 Week 10 WR/TE Start Em Sit Em

Week 10 is officially here, and the stakes are getting higher as the playoffs draw closer. Between injuries, bye weeks, and trades, there are questions across all lineups and I’m here to help! Stuck between two players and don’t know who to start in Week 10? In these weekly articles, I will review and help you decide which WRs and TEs to start and sit every week based on matchups, weather conditions, injuries, and more. You’ll never see studs like Justin Jefferson or CeeDee Lamb on this list, but this is more advice to help you decide between those two players that will help you set and win your weekly lineup. Week 10 Start and Sit

Start ‘Em Wide Receivers

Brian Thomas Jr vs. Minnesota Vikings

Despite coming off the worst performance in his rookie campaign, Brian Thomas Jr. comes into Week 10 as the WR11 in fantasy football. Thomas Jr. is in for a nice bounce-back vs. a Minnesota defense that is susceptible to the air game, allowing the 2nd-most points to opposing WRs. Prior to his injury, Brian Thomas had put up 20+ points in 3 of the last 4 games, and with no Christian Kirk in this offense, he should continue to be the #1 target for Trevor Lawrence in that Jacksonville offense. Fire him up as a WR1 this week!

George Pickens vs. Washington Commanders

Since the changing of the guard from Justin Fields to Russell Wilson took place, George Pickens has seen an uptake in usage and utilization in this offense. Since Wilson became the starting QB in Pittsburgh two games ago, Pickens has averaged 7 targets, 4.5 receptions, and 92.5 yards per game. In his last matchup vs. the New York Giants, Pickens unfortunately had two TDs nullified by penalties, or we would have seen back-to-back 20+ fantasy point performances. Though Washington has cleaned their defense up, they have still shown they can be vulnerable to the passing game. Unless the Steelers land a big-name WR prior to the Trade Deadline, Pickens should continue to be the target hog in Pittsburgh, and be a strong WR2 in fantasy.

Jaylen Waddle vs. Los Angeles Rams

Jaylen Waddle on the start list?! Hear me out. Tua had a tough matchup last week vs. a tough Buffalo team that he has historically struggled against. Despite a season-low (2) targets, he was able to capitalize with a TD and showed that he is still relevant in this offense. Tua and the Dolphins now face a defense that gives up the 8th-most fantasy points to opposing WRs and just gave up 180 yards to Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle should be heavily involved in what should be a shootout, and I expect Waddle to have a great bounce-back game.

Sit ‘Em Wide Receivers

Marvin Harrison Jr vs. New York Jets

Marvin Harrison Jr has had a rollercoaster of a fantasy season, and as a fantasy football manager, you’ve felt both the highs and lows. During the highs, he’s been a strong WR2 (4 games of 15+ fantasy points) and during the lows (4 games of less than 6 fantasy points), he has been nothing more than a bench player. In Week 10, he faces a tough matchup vs. the New York Jets who give up the 4th-fewest points to QBs, and 2nd-fewest points to WRs. Marvin Harrison Jr. is one of the most talented WRs in the league, but until this offense figures out how to use him, he’s a sit in tough matchups like these.

Calvin Ridley vs. Los Angeles Chargers

It took about 8 weeks, and a change of the helm at QB to help Ridley become fantasy-relevant, but he has finally shown a glimpse of the fantasy producer we’ve seen in the past. Despite having back-to-back 12+ fantasy performances, Ridley is a sit in Week 10. The Titans face a tough Chargers defense that allows the 6th-fewest points to opposing WRs, and with Will Levis on track to play, this is your reminder that Ridley exceeded the 8-point mark…. Once. It’s best to leave Ridley on your bench this week.

Michael Pittman vs. Buffalo Bills

Buffalo has been playing some of the best ball on both the offensive and defensive sides of the field. Michael Pittman comes in as the WR50 in fantasy football and has yet to show any promise that we’ll see the production we saw in 2023. Pittman has had two straight two-point fantasy performances, and with the QB disaster going on in Indianapolis, he’s best left on your bench. He’s getting to be borderline droppable.

Start ‘Em Tight Ends

Dalton Kincaid vs. Indianapolis Colts

Though he doesn’t have much to show for it, Dalton Kincaid has the 4th-most targets dating back to Week 4. He’s targeted often and consistently but hasn’t been able to turn that into fantasy production. Now, he faces a Colts team that gives up the 4th-most points to opposing TEs, and if there was ever a week for Kincaid to break out, this is it. Start him with confidence this week.

Mark Andrews vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Many fantasy owners faded Mark Andrews into the sunset after his first four weeks of the season, but dating back to week 5, Mark Andrews had been the TE6 and shown some consistency with 4+ targets in each game. After a 4-point performance last week, Andrews should bounce back nicely vs. the Bengals, in a matchup where both teams combined for over 80 points and over 800 yards of offense.

Mike Gesicki vs. Baltimore Ravens

Gesicki has been a rollercoaster of emotions for fantasy football, but coming off his best fantasy performance of his career, he might get a chance to keep the good vibes going. In the last two games with Tee Higgins out, Gesicki has been the TE1 with 14 targets, 12 receptions, 173 yards, and 2 TDs. Tee Higgins remains sidelined by his “quad” injury, and as long as he’s out, Gesicki is a TE1 for fantasy. He’s a must-start this week.

Sit ‘Em Tight Ends

Pat Freiermuth vs. Washington Commanders

Russell Wilson has done a lot for this Pittsburgh offense, but he has not made the Muth relevant. Pat Freiermuth has scored 10+ fantasy points just once this season, and it doesn’t seem like that should change anytime soon. Russell Wilson has targeted him a total of five times in the last 2 games, and I don’t expect him to be a large part of this offense moving forward. Sit him unless we notice a change in utilization.

Dalton Schultz vs. Detroit Lions

Despite getting 6 targets in the last two games, Schultz has failed to take advantage of the opportunity in Houston. Injuries have derailed this Texans WR core over the last few weeks, but Schultz still failed to record any fantasy game over 10+ fantasy points. Over the last two weeks, we saw his snap count % drop to 66% and 71%, and with Nico Collins on the verge of returning to this offense, it seems like Schultz is non-existent as a fantasy asset for the 2024 campaign.

Will Dissly vs. Tennessee Titans

Dissly flashed some fantasy relevance in weeks 7 and 8 where he hauled in 18 targets and 25.2 fantasy points over that span, but in Week 9 we saw Quentin Johnston return, Josh Palmer have a role in this offense, and Dissly go back to non-fantasy relevance. Before his 2-game stretch, he failed to record more than 6 fantasy points, and we should see similar production. He’s droppable in most formats.
