The NBA gives you something new to watch for every day, and I love the league for it. This week, it’s watching the Lakers turn into a championship contender. I wouldn’t have guessed it, after their start, but here we are! With prop bets, we don’t need to wait for season-long storylines to play out. Every day is a new day. Fantrax wants to help you win a bit of money, so we will be giving you NBA Player Prop Bets every week. We’ll shy away from keying in on any particular sportsbook, as we know odds vary, and so do props. We’ll focus on our projections, and allow you to find your best odds. Let’s get into today’s props.
NBA Player Props for December 5
Terry Rozier, UNDER 22 Points:
While LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward have been out, Terry Rozier has been eating up all the usage he can, and operates as the team’s primary ball-handler/scorer. He’s having a great year as a result and has dropped 22 points or more in four straight games. I think that streak ends tonight vs. the Clippers. If Ty Lue is going to make sure of one thing, it’s that his teams will play defense. The Clippers are currently 4th in the league in defensive rating, despite Paul George and Kawhi Leonard missing time. It doesn’t matter if one or both of them play tonight. The Clippers are going to make sure the Hornets’ best player doesn’t beat them. Take the under on Rozier tonight.
Giannis Antetokounmpo OVER 45 Points+Rebounds+Assists:
Giannis is Giannis. It doesn’t matter the matchup. It doesn’t matter the day of the week. He is the team. Everything operates with him as the nucleus. That said, he’s coming off of a rest day and has had at least 30 points in his last five games played. On top of that, he’s going up against the Magic; The 4th worst defense in the NBA, Orlando Magic. Bet it and forget it.
Bennedict Mathurin OVER 15 Points:
The last game of the night should be a fun one, between the Pacers and the Warriors. Quiet as kept, the Warriors are starting to take form, after a slow start. It’s a result of their offense shaping up though, not their defense. They are the 16th-ranked defense in the league, and also play with the fastest pace. That means more possessions. That means more chances for Bennedict Mathurin to score. He’s got 20+ points in three of his past six games, and I don’t foresee a game script that has him putting up less than 15 shots. If the Pacers get blown out, he’ll still be in the game for garbage time, as the rookie will need to get reps. If the Pacers keep it competitive/win, Mathurin will be part of that, as he gets starter’s minutes, despite coming off of the bench. He’s a certified bucket, with a bright future. I think he’ll demonstrate that tonight.
