It is a tough week for streamers, but we must persist! Only 15 teams have two games between Friday and Sunday and many of them have players highly rostered across all formats on Fantrax.
In the instance where options are limited, managers will have to dig deep to find potential pick-ups to chase down a victory. I’d recommend only using streaming for at most 2 roster spots, ideally 1. Of course one of these streaming options from this week or the past could become a full-time player in your fantasy roster. But, their value remains in using your max weekly pick-ups to win with sheer numbers/games played.
Weekend Streamers
Teams With Two Games
BOS, BKN, CLE, DEN, DET, GSW, LAL, MEM, MIN, NYK, OKC, PHI, SAC, UTA, WAS
Malik Beasley, G/F – Utah Jazz | 56% rostered
Best Stats: 3PM, PTS
It’s shocking Malik Beasley is only 56% owned across Fantrax leagues, a platform that hosts a number of deep 12+ team leagues. Beasley is on a hot streak for the West’s best, Utah Jazz. Over his last three games, the veteran wing has averaged 14 points and 4 made threes across 25 minutes.
After a slow start to the season, Beasley’s minutes have seen a significant jump in playing time which will surely benefit his output for fantasy managers.
Rui Hachimura, F – Washington Wizards | 52% rostered
Best Stats: PTS, REB
While his stats aren’t mind-blowing, Rui’s been a consistent low-end scorer to start the season. Hachimura has scored 10 or more points in nine of the Wizards’ first ten games. In an even more telling trend, the fourth-year Gonzaga man has got up 12 or more shots in 3 of his last 5 contests, averaging 13.6 pts per in those games.
Tyus Jones, G – Memphis Grizzlies | 51% rostered
Best Stats: AST, 3PM
As stated before, this is a lean week. Yes, Tyus jones is a backup to one of the best point guards in the league, which is important to consider. But given a two-game slate this weekend, Jones could pick up 6-1o assists and log 3-5 three-pointers made, which are amazing stats for any player in a singular game.
Fantasy managers must remember that the value in streamers is two games vs one. Yes, you may be dropping a player with better overall value but at times managers have to look at things in a much more precise vacuum.
Nah’Shon (Bones) Hyland, G – Denver Nuggets | 84% rostered
Best Stats: PTS, 3PM, STLS
It’s interesting Hyland is rostered in 84% of Fantrax leagues, but only 17% of ESPN leagues. This illustrates Fantrax’s ability to host larger leagues but also means that managers participating in standard, 10- to 12-team leagues have a much larger variety of free-agent options than the percentages would suggest.
As for Hyland, He’s been scorching over his last 4 games. averaging 20 points, 1.5 steals, and nearly 5 threes an outing. Obviously, Hyland won’t be available for everyone, but he is an elite-level pick-up headed into the weekend, especially in points and three-pointers made.
Aleksej Pokusevski, F – Oklahoma City Thunder | 71% rostered
Best Stats: BLK, STL, REB
Pokusevski is a veteran of my streaming lists, and for good reason; he is one of the most unique stat accruers across the NBA. The man is wildly inconsistent, so if you’re picking him up, know that straight off. In his last 6 games he’s scored over 15, three times, and under 7, three times. On the season he’s averaging 1.3 blocks per game, but the rangy 7-footer has seen an uptick in minutes over his last 4 contests and blocked 2 or more in each of them.
“Poku” is a high-risk high reward prospect, but with 2 games in 3 nights, he may be worth that risk. As statistics show, in every other game, he plays like a top-50 fantasy product.
