Let’s not let the NFL steal the show while we’re running hot. With a healthy eight-game NBA slate on tap tonight, we’ve got plenty of matchups to choose from. With prop bets, we don’t need to wait for season-long storylines to play out. Every day is a new day. Fantrax wants to help you win a bit of money, so we will be giving you NBA Player Prop Bets every week. We’ll shy away from keying in on any particular sportsbook, as we know odds vary, and so do props. We’ll focus on our projections, and allow you to find your best odds. Let’s get into today’s props.
NBA Player Props for January 15
Jalen Green, OVER 30 Points + Rebounds + Assists:
The Clippers take on the Rockets today, and with a 6th ranked defense, the Clippers should have no problem winning this one. However, the Rockets remain a professional basketball team, which means they’ll score points. Their leader in shots taken recently is Jalen Green, who is having a hell of a sophomore year. In his past five games, he’s hit 30+ PRA in three of them. There aren’t many candidates outside of Sengun and Eric Gordon (being showcased for a trade) that will take his usage. He’s taken over 20 shots in three of his past five games. He’s not guaranteed to hit this line, by any means, but I like my chances.
Nikola Vucevic OVER 34 Points + Rebounds + Assists:
The Bulls are adjusting to life without DeRozan right now, which means more usage for Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic. This is a matchup for Vucevic to thrive as they take on the Warriors who have a famously weak frontcourt situation (yet they still refuse to play James Wiseman for some reason). Vuc is averaging 17/11/3 on the year, and he’ll be up against the league leader in pace and Kevon Looney as his primary matchup (Draymond Green is formidable though). He’s only hit this mark in two of his past five games, but more times than not, star players exceed their averages against high pace teams. You should be able to find decent odds on this line. I’d go up to 38+ PRA and feel comfortable.
Domantas Sabonis UNDER 20 Points:
Of the three bets, I have the least confidence in this one. The Kings play the tanking Spurs, and the thesis on this bet is that the Kings should blow the Spurs out by 20+. The Kings are 3rd in offense and 9th in net rating, and the Spurs are last in net rating, 27th in offense, and 30th in defense. The Spurs aren’t trying to win and to be honest, Coach Pop should get Coach of the Year because they have won 13 out of 43. In the past three games, the Kings have won by at least 20 points in all of them, and in those three blowouts, Sabonis has had under 20 points in two of them. Sprinkle a few units on the Sabonis under in this one.
