The NBA trade deadline has come and gone. We know what these teams will look like from here. We went 1-0 last time out (the other two bets were DNPs), for a record of 8-6 in the month of February. Let’s take advantage of the new landscape! With prop bets, we don’t need to wait for season-long storylines to play out. Every day is a new day. Fantrax wants to help you win a bit of money, so we will be giving you NBA Player Prop Bets every week. We’ll shy away from keying in on any particular sportsbook, as we know odds vary, and so do props. We’ll focus on our projections, and allow you to find your best odds. Let’s get into today’s prop bets.
NBA Player Prop Bets for February 10
Bojan Bogdanovic OVER 20 Points:
He has survived! Bogdanovic was thought to be a trade asset the moment he stepped foot in Detroit. Even after Detroit said he was part of their rebuild plans. Detroit kept its word. He’s still a Piston (or he’s still a Pistons. The latter doesn’t sound right, but I’ve never really known how plural team names work in the singular, and I’m too busy researching prop bets to look it up). The Pistons take on the Spurs tonight, which is a great matchup for taking a Detroit OVER. The Spurs have the worst defense in the league and play at the 7th fastest pace in the league. That’s a lot of extra possessions for Detroit with poor defense. It’s safe to say we can expect 20+ from Bojan, who’s hit this mark four times in his last five games. He’ll keep the same usage whether Wiseman makes his debut tonight or not.
Chris Paul UNDER 20 Points:
The biggest trade of the deadline was Kevin Durant getting shipped to Phoenix. But do you know why this trade was made? The answer: BECAUSE CHRIS PAUL IS WASHED! DONE! FINISHED! Perhaps that’s a little harsh, but he’s certainly not the scoring threat he used to be. Typically, when the Pacers are the opponent, I’ll hit the OVERs as Indiana plays at the 4th fastest pace in the league and 23rd ranked defense. However, the Suns are going to be in their 2nd leg of a back-to-back, and CP3 hasn’t scored 20 points in six straight games. We might even be able to get some pretty solid odds on this considering that Mikal Bridges was traded, so his usage/shots will be gone, with no immediate replacement. CP3 hasn’t taken more than 15 shots in his last six games either. I love this UNDER.
Jayson Tatum OVER 29 Points:
There is no defense for Jayson Tatum. You just have to hope he misses. Charlotte DEFINITELY has to hope. They are the 24th-ranked defense in the league and play with the 8th-fastest pace. On top of that, Jayson Tatum broke Jaylen Brown’s face the other night. Maybe it was an accident. Maybe he wanted to take more shots. The jury is still out. The bottom line is that Tatum will be depended on to take 20+ shots tonight. He’s hit 30+ points in 5 of his last 7 games, so I like our chances.
