MLB Injury Report

Kyle Wright – SP Atlanta Braves

As expected, Wright will debut later today. Be prepared.

Max Fried – SP Atlanta Braves

Encouraging news that Fried has taken a step forward. That said, it’s discouraging because it’s taken so long to get to this point.

Raisel Iglesias – RP Atlanta Braves

The flat-ground throwing is a good sign that Iglesias is at least throwing now, but he needs to get back onto a mound before a return date is even considered.

Kyle Bradish – SP Baltimore Orioles

It sounds like Bradish’s foot is fine, and considering it’s not an arm injury, it should be a short assignment. He is eligible to return on April 20.

Adam Duvall – OF Boston Red Sox

This development might shorten Duvall’s time away from the team, though no timetable had ever been given. If owners can stash him on the Injured List, he’s worth saving after his hot start. Time will tell if the wrist injury happens his power.

Adalberto Mondesi – SS Boston Red Sox

It was also reported that Mondesi was taking batting practice and grounders, which is great news. There had been a lull in the news regarding any development, so this is a big plus.

Seiya Suzuki – OF Chicago Cubs

While best-case doesn’t necessarily mean it’s happening, this indicates how close Suzuki really is. Be prepared.

Yoan Moncada – 3B Chicago White Sox

While it doesn’t seem too serious, it’s something to monitor.

Tim Anderson – SS Chicago White Sox

Anderson got himself caught up with a base runner and sat in agony on the field. This is an encouraging statement from Grifol, as Anderson thought that he could play through it. More details will emerge today.

Joey Votto – 1B Cincinnati Reds

Votto has been struggling to do much of anything while in the minors. The team is likely to take things slowly with him.

Aaron Civale – SP Cleveland Guardians, Triston McKenzie – SP Cleveland Guardians

It’s unclear as to exactly when Civale injured himself, but he did pitch as early as last Friday. As for McKenzie, he was cleared to throw heavy medicine balls over the weekend. With the move, he won’t be able to make his debut until at least May 29, but that’s assuming that all goes according to plan.

German Marquez – SP Colorado Rockies

Great news as there hadn’t been much said about him during the game. There are many unknowns here, but the biggest takeaway is that the injury isn’t considered serious. How Marquez’s body responds overnight will indicate what’s next going forward.

Anthony Rendon – 3B Los Angeles Angels

For now, all that we have is the knowledge that Rendon was hit by a pitch last week. Still, given his injury history, we can’t take anything lightly. The team has indicated that they will check up on him later today.

Tony Gonsolin – SP Los Angeles Dodgers

Major development here, as Gonsolin is at least two weeks away from beginning a rehab assignment, which will likely be at least two weeks long. Owners should hold onto him if they can, but it’s getting hard to trust him.

Miami Marlins – Team Update

Of note, Meyer has evolved into throwing from 75 feet but still has a ways to go before any pitching. Sanchez throwing a live bullpen today is something to monitor, though he’s been out of baseball for so long. It’s looking like Wendle will be out for much longer than his ten-day minimum.

Joey Gallo – 1B/OF Minnesota Twins

It’s looking like Gallo has avoided a significant injury here. He could be back later this week.

Carlos Correa – SS Minnesota Twins

The fact that Correa was feeling better is a good sign. Stay tuned, but he’s likely DTD.

Starling Marte – OF New York Mets

Great news on the concussion, though Marte did not play last night. Consider him DTD until otherwise told.

Luis Severino – SP New York Yankees

Fantastic in that Severino feels great while pitching and can throw all of his pitches. How his body responds will be the key to when and how the team proceeds. That said, expect at least another bullpen soon.

Seth Brown – 1B/OF Oakland Athletics

No word yet on the severity, but it’s likely that Brown misses more than the minimum of ten days since obliques are tricky. Stay tuned.

Oneil Cruz – SS Pittsburgh Pirates

A statement from the team places his return to action at four months. This puts Cruz returning in the middle of August. That’s assuming all goes well without any setbacks. Horrible news here all around, but good in that he’s expected back. Redraft owners need to consider all options here.

Joe Musgrove – SP San Diego Padres

Unfortunate development here, and somewhat fluky. Musgrove was set to debut rather soon, but this delays the inevitable for a bit. No specific timetable has been laid out just yet since it depends on how he feels after throwing.

Andres Munoz – RP Seattle Mariners

Good to hear that it was a precautionary move. That said, reading between the lines, maybe Munoz shouldn’t be their secondary option once he’s back. If he can’t recover and be ready every second day, the team may need to find other options. That said, the team hasn’t indicated a change is in the works, so keep using him as you were.

Taylor Walls – SS Tampa Bay Rays

The only positive to take away from this is that it’s not his throwing elbow. Stay tuned for more updates on a return for Walls.

Mitch Garver – C Texas Rangers

The knee sprain is mild, so perhaps this won’t be a long absence. Owners need to be aware of Garver’s injury history and understand that this is part of who he is.
