It has been a busy week for prospects, and they are all starting to come up. Some of my favorites that have been mentioned are flourishing and some are struggling. Stay right here for your Irish Report.

MLB Prospects Making News:
- Brenton Doyle was called up yesterday and was able to reach base via walk. He could be a real spark plug and has been destroying the ball in AAA Albuquerque which I have saw firsthand living in Albuquerque.
- Jhonny Brito is still up with the Yanks but will have to be more consistent as he threw 80 pitching in 2.2 innings yesterday
- Bryce Elder continues to dominate and proves he is the man over Dylan Dodd and Jared Schuster with an ERA of 1.14 across 23 innings pitched so far this season.
- Xzavion Curry continues to be a glue piece that holds the Guardians’ staff together. He has pitched 15.1 innings in long relief to an ERA of 2.93.
- Jake McCarthy, a guy that seemed poised to make an impact in the majors this year, has been demoted due to poor hitting. Currently hitting .143 he will look to get right in the minors and come back stronger.
Ready for the Call?
There are whispers that the following pitching prospects may be making their debuts in the very near future.
- Brandon Pfaadt, #1 Diamondbacks prospect
- Tanner Bibee, #5 Guardians prospect
- Gavin Stone, #4 Dodgers prospect (rumored to be up soon)
Prospects to Target
Jorbit Vivas, Dodgers
Right now, Jorbit Vivas is slashing an almost impossible .400 with an OBP approaching .500. At only 22, there’s still room to grow. I’d love to see him go to AAA to develop a little more power though. I think some scouts have him wrong on the power projection. He has shown a higher grade of emerging power and could hit 15-20 home runs at the Major League level. If he continues hitting .400, they will have no choice but to call him up in the coming months.
Bryce Jarvis, Diamondbacks
Both of my prospect colleagues, Richard Haake and Matt Lawson, have posted flattering posts about Bryce Jarvis in recent days. It seems the control issues that plagued Jarvis are a thing of the past as he continues to pitch well at AA Amarillo. Jarvis has not allowed a home run this season and has a K/9 above 10. He should be stashed and should be up this season at the advanced prospect age of 25.
Creed Willems, Orioles
What can I say? Dude has a rock star name. Creed Willems is a 20-year-old catcher in the Orioles organization that has caught absolute fire in the early part of the season. He’s not currently on any radar and isn’t a top-30 prospect on anyone’s rankings that I’ve seen. He is currently hitting .395 and throwing out 40% of base runners trying to steal. No one owns him in the majority of dynasty leagues. He is certainly worth a stash.
Cody Bolton, Pirates
After years of injuries and bad luck, Cody Bolton is stringing it together. The Pirates do have a crowded farm but at the age of 25 and with his ability to get outs, Bolton should be on the radar for a spot start or bullpen role soon. In his career, he’s allowed 18 home runs in 258 innings pitched. He would be a welcome addition to a Pirate team that’s on the rise.
