Max Fried – SP Atlanta Braves

Fried was placed on the Injured List with a forearm strain. There were questions as to why his status was up in the air, and this confirms that speculation. While we don’t know when he will return, we do know that it won’t be after fifteen days. It feels safe to rule out a second Tommy John surgery, but anything else seems fair game for now.

Ramon Urias – INF Baltimore Orioles

Yikes, that’s never good. The hamstring that will cost Urias a lot of time was injured on Monday, and it’s already been determined that tend days on the Injured List are not enough.

James Paxton – SP Boston Red Sox

Be prepared.

Garrett Whitlock – SP Boston Red Sox

There is no timetable on when Whitlock will return, but he’s at least progressing towards a bullpen session.

Chicago Cubs – Team Update

Hoerner himself has said that he’s not doing too bad and that he’s receiving treatment. Hughes will throw another bullpen later today, showing some progress with that inflamed knee. As for Heuer and Hendricks, both have only recently started with Iowa and will have lengthy rehab assignments.

Nick Lodolo – SP Cincinnati Reds

It’s unclear if this calf issue has been an ongoing ailment for Lodolo all season. That said, he will get some time to help it heal before starting again.

Lance McCullers Jr. – SP Houston Astros

The fact that McCullers will start to utilize some breaking balls in his next bullpen is a good thing. That’s a big step forward, especially if his body responds well to it afterward.

Michael Brantley – OF Houston Astros

Chandler Rome seems about as perplexed as anyone regarding Brantley’s status. The quoted tweet here is one of three in a chain explaining his thoughts. At the end of the day, there’s no telling when Brantley is coming back and his return will surprise most.

Mauricio Dubon – INF Houston Astros

It’s likely that Dubon misses today’s game, but could be back Friday when the Astros play next.

Ryan Yarbrough – SP Kansas City Royals

The team announced a day prior that Yarbrough suffered non-displaced fractures. This is fantastic news that he is doing better and recovering. It’ll likely be a long while before he pitches again.

Noah Syndergaard – SP Los Angeles Dodgers

Syndergaard’s finger got cut during the second inning of his latest game. With a trip to the Injured List a possibility, speculation about who replaces him for a spot start remains prudent. The team may look at their farm again.

Max Scherzer – SP New York Mets

This seems more optimistic than what was originally believed after the spasms worsened on Monday. Scherzer might actually avoid the Injured List altogether. Time will tell if this happens.

Aaron Hicks – OF New York Yankees

Hicks will be DTD for now until otherwise noted.

Josh Donaldson – 3B New York Yankees

The Yankees will be without Donaldson for at least another two to three weeks, as Donaldson attempts to return from this hamstring issue. June might be a realistic timeline.

Mason Miller – SP Oakland Athletics

Some good news here, as Miller seems poised to miss a minimal amount of time here. Time will tell if that’s the case, but his quest to return starts with his side session on Friday and how his body responds to that. Owners everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief.

Jose Alvarado – RP Philadelphia Phillies

The hope here is that Alvarado is correct and that he’ll be able to pitch as soon as possible.

Kyle Schwarber – OF Philadelphia Phillies

The good news here is that the X-rays came back negative. Schwarber should return soon enough once the bruise is healed.

Andres Munoz – RP Seattle Mariners

Horrible news as Munoz’s season will get delayed even more now. Shoulder inflammation is nothing to sneeze at, so his return will not be for quite a long time as his rehab assignment won’t be until almost June. And even then, it’ll likely be a lengthy one.

Tyler O’Neill – OF St. Louis Cardinals

O’Neill looks primed and ready to start rehabbing in order to return. There is likely no rush for him to return because his being right may help him get out of his season-long slump.

Jacob deGrom – SP Texas Rangers

This seems like a pretty major update here, as deGrom “could be” another two or three weeks from returning. The team hasn’t really tested out his arm at all in order to see if he’s close to being ready, which is quite telling too for many reasons. Are they overly concerned about it? Do they want to rely on deGrom’s feelings and move accordingly to them? Is there something that they know as to why it’s so slow? The team placed him on the 15-day Injured list at the end of April, but it’s looking like a June return at the earliest is on the horizon.
