Justin Turner – 3B Boston Red Sox

Turner is listed as DTD with knee soreness, with a chance to return tomorrow. In all likelihood, he will miss today’s game.

Cody Bellinger – OF Chicago Cubs

Bellinger has avoided the Injured List all week since making that incredible catch at the wall. He had been working on improving himself, but couldn’t do it to the point where he was ready to play. The team hopes he will only require the minimum number of days before he’s back in the lineup.

Yasmani Grandal – C Chicago White Sox

Good to see that Grandal can at least pinch-hit, and he may get a shot at DH this weekend. That said, he will need to ready himself to catch at some point soon.

Liam Hendriks – RP Chicago White Sox

There have been mixed reports over the last two weeks about him returning sooner rather than later. Each time, those reports have been refuted. Stay tuned and updated for him and his updates.

TJ Friedl – OF Cincinnati Reds

While obliques are a tricky injury to manage, it’s encouraging to know that he’s been symptom-free and could return soon.

Peyton Battenfield – SP Cleveland Guardians

This could result in a call-up or a spot start on Monday, but regardless it’s something to monitor. As for Battenfield, this could be the reason for his struggles, but we shall see if it’s a long-term injury.

German Marquez – SP Colorado Rockies

Marquez has also successfully had Tommy John surgery and will miss the rest of this year and most of next. He is wished well.

Luis Garcia – SP Houston Astros

Garcia is wished well in his recovery.

Jose Urquidy – SP Houston Astros

The fact that he hopes to throw is somewhat concerning because he’s not expected to do it. That being said, regardless of when he throws again, he will have a huge ramp-up to complete before he’s back in the Astros’ lineup.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. – OF Miami Marlins

This would beat his original timeline of up to six weeks, which would have had him back around the end of June or early July. While it’s nice to hear him want to be ready, he does have a history of being unable to get himself into game-shape health in a timely manner. That said, back injuries and turf toe are worlds apart in difference, so a comparison may not be fair, but it should be remembered.

Miami Marlins – Team Update

The aforementioned Chisholm, alongside Garcia and Sanchez, will not be with the team, indicating that they have a lot of work to do and need the focus to be on them. Cueto playing catch is nice, but his ankle is still swollen, and was just recently unable to throw at all. Puk throwing for this long of a distance is encouraging news that could put him back on the field soon. Rogers just started a throwing program and is already up to 35 pitches. That said, he will need a lengthy rehab assignment before returning.

Wade Miley – SP Milwaukee Brewers

Ouch, this one will keep him out of the rotation for a while, and a hole for the Brewers to fill.

Joey Gallo – OF Minnesota Twins

And he did make it into the game as a pinch-hitter, leading one to believe he will be back today.

Jorge Polanco – 2B Minnesota Twins

Polanco has been out for two of the team’s last three games, and it’s unclear when he’ll play with consistency. We could be seeing Edouard Julien in a Twins uniform as early as today.

Nick Gordon – 2B/OF Minnesota Twins

Gordon has struggled all season, and this injury will keep him away for a while. This might be a lost season for him.

Jose Quintana – SP New York Mets

That’s great news, as the Mets could use another arm, and Quintana would like to get going with his new team. All that being said, it’ll be a while before he’s back.

Seth Brown – 1B/OF Oakland Athletics

After having his rehab halted, Brown is back, this time in Single-A. There has been no word on a timetable for a return.

Jose Alvarado – RP Philadelphia Phillies

The plan is to send Alvarado to go on a rehab assignment because he will be out for quite a while. He is eligible to return on May 23, but it will be well into June before a return is even discussed.

Bryce Harper – UT Philadelphia Phillies

No, Harper is not injured with anything new since his return to the team. Instead, this was all part of the plan, to slowly get him ready to play first base.

Manny Machado – 3B San Diego Padres

It was hoped that Machado would miss the Injured List altogether, but alas, here he is. There’s no word on when he will be back, but a fractured hand doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be a quick return.

San Francisco Giants – Team Update

A lot to unpack here. Bart is now back on the Injured List, this time with a grade-one groin strain. He has been off and on the Injured List all year, and this stint should be a minor one. The news on Stripling is good, and we should know more once he’s re-evaluated. As for Pederson, he could be back when his 10 days are over early this week.

Tommy Edman – 2B St. Louis Cardinals

Great news here as he should be back today. If he needs a bit more time, he’ll be back tomorrow, but the important part is that he’ll avoid a trip to the Injured List.

Yandy Diaz – INF Tampa Bay Rays

Diaz remains out of the lineup, as he has all week, but this could be a good step forward. Stay tuned to see if he avoids the Injured List.
