Cedric Mullins – OF Baltimore Orioles

The categorized Grade 2 strain means that it is a moderate injury. The timeline of weeks, not months, is a key one here, in that the team doesn’t foresee this being too long-term of an issue. Still, it’s not out of the question that we don’t see Mullins back until after the All-Star Break, but that feels like a worst-case scenario.

Corey Kluber – SP/RP Boston Red Sox

Congratulations to the Kluber family.

Cody Bellinger – OF Chicago Cubs

First, it was the drill work, and now some cage work. He has yet to run and do agility workouts, which will be his biggest hurdle. Still, he’s slowly coming around and is improving daily, which is all good news to hear.

Mike Clevinger – SP Chicago White Sox

It was previously reported that Clevinger could be activated before the team’s next homestand. That he threw a simulated game on Monday is a good sign for that claim. It’s also interesting to note that he is throwing the gyro slider too while recovering.

Eduardo Rodriguez – SP Detroit Tigers

This is quite unfortunate for two reasons. First, Rodriguez had been pitching at an elite level, this messes with any positive momentum he had going forward. Second, the type of injury he sustained is serious and could require months of time away. According to this article, he will need significant time to let it heal properly, which requires a ton of rest and minimal movement. It’s estimated that he will need months for the finger to feel normal again, and that time includes rest and recovery. In short, this could be a season-ending injury for him but is likely something that keeps him out through some of, if not most of, the summer.

Riley Greene – OF Detroit Tigers

This is bad news with the potential to be much worse. We will know more today if and when the test results come through. Until then, consider Greene DTD.

Tarik Skubal – SP Detroit Tigers

It’s fantastic news here, as Skubal’s quest to return is nearing the final stages.

Jose Urquidy – SP Houston Astros

Slow but steady progress for Urquidy. That said, he has a long way to go before pitching in a game again.

Julio Urias – SP Los Angeles Dodgers

Despite this slow process and recent setback, the Dodgers don’t anticipate Urias needing a rehab assignment before being reinstated. They think that he’ll be able to pitch against the Phillies in an upcoming series. Time will tell if that’s the case.

Miami Marlins – Team Update

A lot to unpack here. We should know more about Chisholm Jr. after today’s evaluation. The only news we know is that he wanted to return in early June. As for Cueto, his recent setbacks have led to extended time away, but this is a good sign that he is throwing again. Rogers did throw four innings, and looked solid in the process, throwing a one-hit, seven-strikeout masterpiece. Finally, Puk struck out the side in his lone inning of relief in that Double-A rehab assignment. Both Rogers and Puk will need more appearances before returning.

Willy Adames – SS Milwaukee Brewers

This is great to read and the hope that those workouts intensify. Adames can return within a week.

Luis Urias – INF Milwaukee Brewers

Be prepared.

Jesse Winker – OF Milwaukee Brewers

Winker will miss at least ten days with his injury, though the term strain indicates that it could be longer than that. Stay tuned.

Kenta Maeda – SP Minnesota Twins, Caleb Thielbar – RP Minnesota Twins

Both pitchers had effective innings that relayed some encouragement going forward. Maeda will likely need many more outings in order to be able to return, whereas Thielbar could be back in the Twins’ bullpen any day.

Harrison Bader – OF New York Yankees

It’s just another injury for Bader who has struggled to stay healthy since being traded to New York. He will miss at least two weeks with this injury.

Anthony Rizzo – 1B New York Yankees

It’s looking like Rizzo will avoid the Injured List. That said, his return likely won’t happen until the weekend, with Friday being a possibility.

Josh Donaldson – 3B New York Yankees

Be prepared.

Jose Alvarrado – RP Philadelphia Phillies

This could be the last hurdle before heading out for a rehab assignment. We’ll know more about his status following the scheduled session later today.

Manny Machado – 3B San Diego Padres, Seth Lugo – SP San Diego Padres

That’s a very positive update for Machado, as he was able to not only hit the ball but sustain the grip while doing so. That’s encouraging for a return very soon too. As for Lugo, things have been quite quiet as of late, but this is a step in the right direction. There’s been no word of when a rehab assignment will begin.

Michael Conforto – OF San Francisco Giants

We should know more about his status later today. Consider him DTD unless otherwise told.

Pete Fairbanks – RP Tampa Bay Rays

Some positive news here, as there should be no long-term damage. The hope is that with the injection, his healing will speed up and he can return sooner than later. That said, the team would be wise to take things slowly and carefully with Fairbanks, considering they have a solid option in Jason Adam. More will be known in the upcoming days, but the overall feeling here is a positive one.

Jacob deGrom – SP Texas Rangers

Some things of note here. First, he has yet to throw more than 31 pitches in any bullpen, so his workload isn’t quite up to standard. Second, the team’s final road game is today before a homestand starts on Friday, so we won’t know more about deGrom’s status until then. All that being said, he’s still likely weeks away from returning, if that.

Mitch Garver – C Texas Rangers

Barring any setbacks, Garver should be back within a week.

Brandon Belt – 1B Toronto Blue Jays

This shouldn’t be a long-term issue for Belt and he could be back within days.
