Fantrax Injury Report – Bo Bichette Injury Status

Here is the Fantrax Injury Report for Tuesday, August 1, 2023. In this edition, the Jays may lose one of their best players in Bo Bichette, as he jammed his knee last night. The team will be looking for answers ahead of the trade deadline. Also, it looks like Max Fried will be back at some point this week, which is a relief for owners everywhere. Finally, Mike Trout took a significant step forward with some dry swings. Where does that lead him next? All that and more in today’s Injury Report from Fantrax.

MLB Injury Report

Max Fried – SP Atlanta Braves

The speculation is that Fried will start at some point this weekend when the Braves are at the Cubs.

Justin Turner – INF Boston Red Sox

The injury isn’t thought to be overly serious, but it is something to monitor. He may miss a game or two while it heals.

Hunter Greene – SP Cincinnati Reds

The move allows the Reds to add Sam Moll to the 40-man roster, as he was acquired in a trade yesterday. Greene isn’t expected back until at least August 20.

Noah Syndergaard – SP Cleveland Guardians

There was no mention after the game if this was a serious injury or not, so the move may have been precautionary. There should be updates later today on his status, but for now, consider Syndergaard DTD.

Charlie Blackmon – OF Colorado Rockies

Blackmon will begin a rehab assignment after having missed the last six weeks of games. With Kris Bryant injured and Randal Grichuk traded, there should be plenty of at-bats for Blackmon once he’s back and healthy.

Jose Urquidy – SP Houston Astros

Urquidy has now completed his rehab assignment and is ready to rejoin the team. As he says here, he was happy with the quality of his stuff in his last outing, specifically the location of his changeup.

Jo Adell – OF Los Angeles Angels

It looks like Adell will be out of action for quite some time. Given the construction of the team, it’s hard to find a spot with consistent playing time for him when he does in fact return.

Mike Trout – OF Los Angeles Angels

Once we find out how things went with him here, Trout may progress to swinging and making contact with a ball. That may come in the form of off-a-tee or right-to-live batting.

Griffin Canning – SP Los Angeles Angels

Canning isn’t expected to miss much time, but it is noteworthy that he missed last night’s start. There has been no word on if and when he’ll be inserted back into the rotation.

Michael Wacha – SP San Diego Padres

Wacha threw two eighteen-pitch innings and the velocity was apparently there. Melvin stated that there would be updates later today based on how he felt. He also said that looking ahead at the schedule, they could go to a six-man rotation at points depending on how the schedule looks. They’re always looking to give guys the rest that they need. That’s how Wacha could fit into the mix down the stretch.

Thairo Estrada – INF San Francisco Giants

That’s fantastic news for the Giants and for fantasy owners everywhere. It looks like he’s on track to be back by this time next week.

Mike Yastrzemski – OF San Francisco Giants

Yastrzemski recently left a game with a hamstring strain, and will now be out for at least two weeks.

Jarred Kelenic – OF Seattle Mariners

Kelenic has already missed two weeks and will need at least two more in that walking boot. If all goes well, he could be back within a month, but that’s assuming there are no setbacks and that he is on schedule.

Bo Bichette – SS Toronto Blue Jays

Bichette rounded first base and had to stop midway as he couldn’t put much pressure on the knee itself. Either way, it’s a terrible situation for the Jays to be in so close to the trade deadline. The team will be racing against the clock to get a diagnosis on the injury and know what they need to do before the deadline later today.
