Point Guard Sleepers for 2023-24 Fantasy Basketball

A point guard in the NBA is the equivalent of a quarterback in the NFL. A point guard controls the pace and tempo of the game. These players have evolved to dish out some marvelous passes and now put up many points, too. It is not a challenge to name the top players at the point guard position. They’ll be selected rather quickly in drafts.

Point guard sleepers are where I come in to help you get an advantage. Do not stress on researching which point guards can potentially be sleepers. Sit back, relax, and enjoy my point guard sleepers for the 2023-2024 NBA season.

2023-24 Fantasy Basketball: Point guard sleepers

Markelle Fultz, ADP103, PG33

The former number one overall pick of his draft class has made the best of his NBA career. Markelle Fultz has dealt with injuries in four of his six seasons. Last season was the first time he played more than 60 games since the 2019-2020 season. Fultz finished with career highs in field goal and three-point percentage.

Fultz is a talented player whose injuries got the best of him, but that did not stop him. Now, he is the starting point guard for the Orlando Magic and finished as the PG23 last season. Then again, he is being drafted as the PG33, ten spots lower than his finish from a year ago.

Fultz is healthy and has not faced any setbacks this off-season. All in all, Markelle Fultz will finish inside the top 15 of his position. I think another year of staying healthy will have him in the Most Improved Player conversations and become a part of the young core featuring Paolo Banchero.

Ben Simmons, ADP109.3, PG45

First things first, saying nice things about Ben Simmons as a basketball player has been a challenge for me. I am convinced that what has happened to Ben Simmons has been directly tied to the mental battles he has been going through. There was a point in time when Ben Simmons was looked at as a top 10 dynasty asset along with being selected in the first two or three rounds of basketball drafts.

Once Simmons did not go up against Trae Young in the playoffs where the 76ers lost to the Atlanta Hawks, it all went downhill from there. Mostly everyone turned on Ben Simmons, especially teammates and the fans of Philadelphia. Now, Simmons appeared in just 42 games in the 2022-2023 season for the Brooklyn Nets due to a back injury. Simmons did shoot the highest field goal percentage of his career on a positive note.

With a fresh start, just 27 years old, assuming to be 100% healthy, Simmons is a screaming value as the 45th point guard based on ADP. Simmons has dipped in terms of fantasy ppg since entering the NBA, but with Mikal Bridges and with Cam Johnson being the focal points of the offense, Simmons is in a prime position to average double-digit assists and climb back into the top ten point guards of the NBA.

Scoot Henderson, ADP74.3, PG22

First of all, PG22 might not seem like a sleeper point guard, but listen up. Scoot Henderson is stepping into this franchise as the number one option. There is no disrespect to Jerami Grant, Anfernee Simons, Shaedon Sharpe, and Deandre Ayton. Henderson was drafted as the Damian Lillard replacement and has already shown flashes of being more than NBA-ready to lead a franchise any given night.

Henderson is currently the PG22 in ADP and I frankly think that is too low. Scoot Henderson is going to finish as a top 12 point guard and the Trailblazers are going to be better than most people expect. Acquiring Deandre Ayton gives Henderson a pick-and-roll partner. Sharpe and Simons are playmakers, too which in turn leaves Henderson able to make cuts to the basket.

Draft Henderson two rounds earlier and enjoy the benefits of having him on your fantasy basketball team. Remember, Victor Wembenyama has made people forget quickly about Henderson. With good reasoning, as Wembenyama is out of this world, but that does not mean you pass up on the future of Portland this fantasy basketball season. Scoot Henderson is my favorite point guard sleeper for the 2023-2024 NBA season.
