Bold Predictions for Week 10 Fantasy Football

2023 NFL Week 10 Bold Predictions for Fantasy Football

Hunter Henry, TE, New England Patriots

Bold Prediction: 6 receptions, 60 yards, 1 touchdown

Colin’s Breakdown: We’ll start the Week 10 bold prediction piece with a streaming option at the tight end position. Given that Travis Kelce, Dallas Goedert, and others are unavailable due to their bye week or injuries, I’m sure a few fantasy managers are looking for a plug-and-play option. Hunter Henry is your guy.

Last week, in the Patriots’ first full game without wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (torn ACL), Hunter Henry was one of three Pats pass catchers to tie for a team-high seven targets. Henry is and has been a reliable target for quarterback Mac Jones so this isn’t a surprise. The Patriots remain inside the top-10 in pass attempts per game (35.8), as well, so Week 10 should be another high-volume opportunity, in Germany, against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts are allowing the fifth-most yards to right ends and are tied for fourth in receptions allowed to the position. Tight ends average just under six receptions and 60 yards per game against Indy. Considering Henry’s role in New England’s pass attack, I think he will meet these numbers singlehandedly amongst New England’s tight ends. What makes this a true bold prediction is the touchdown call. Indianapolis has allowed just one score to tight ends all season. I like Hunter Henry as a high-floor streamer in Week 10.

Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals

Bold Prediction: 19 carries, 89 yards, 3 touchdowns; 5 receptions, 42 yards

Meng’s Breakdown: Through nine weeks in 2023, Joe Mixon has quietly been a workhorse, having seen career-highs in both snap share (74%) and rush share (79%). He’s also been dominating red-zone and goal-line usage. Mixon’s 23 carries inside the 20-yard line thus far ranks ninth among running backs, and his 15 carries inside the 10-yard line is the seventh-most at the position. In fact, no other Bengals running back has logged a single red-zone rushing attempt.

Mixon’s red-zone volume is even more impressive considering that the Bengals weren’t getting into the red zone very often early in the season when Joe Burrow was playing through a calf injury. Cincinnati ranks just 24th in red-zone scoring attempts on the year, but since their bye with Burrow’s calf 100% healthy, that number has shot up to 12th in the league. The Bengals’ red-zone scoring efficiency has also jumped from ninth in the NFL on the year to second-best over the last three weeks.

Heading into Week 10, Ja’Marr Chase has a back injury, and Tee Higgins has a hamstring injury. There’s optimism that Chase will play against Houston this week, but he may not be 100% even if he suits up for this game. Higgins is a bigger concern, having suffered this hamstring injury during practice on Wednesday. If Cincinnati is missing one of their top wide receivers on Sunday, we could see an even bigger role for Mixon and the ground game.

While the Texans have allowed the 10th-fewest rushing yards per game in 2023, they’ve allowed the sixth-most rushing touchdowns per game to opponents. With the over/under currently at 47 points, this game has the second-highest total of Week 10. Expect Mixon to account for a lot of those points. He’s had one or two blow-up games per season, including a four-touchdown performance in Week 9 of last year when Chase was out. With Chase and Higgins both banged up now, Mixon could go nuclear this week.

DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Tennessee Titans

Bold Prediction: 7 receptions, 120 yards, 1 touchdown

Skrip’s Breakdown: Tampa Bay allows the second most fantasy points per game to wide receivers and the second most passing yards per game this season. DeAndre Hopkins had his best week of the season in Week 8, which was rookie quarterback Will Levis’ debut. Hopkins caught four of his six targets for 128 receiving yards and three touchdowns for 34.8 fantasy points as the Fantasy WR2 of Week 8.

In Week 9, it was a down week for Hopkins. What was encouraging, though, was 11 targets from Levis who threw 39 times in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hopkins finished with 140 receiving yards back in Week 5, and is lined up to have another big week in such a nice matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers . My bold prediction will be that Week 10 is Hopkins’ biggest fantasy game of the season thus far.

Tony Pollard, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Bold Prediction: 90 yards, 2 touchdowns

Michael’s Breakdown: Tony Pollard is letting a lot of people down this season. Pollard is currently the overall RB21 in fantasy and people drafted him as a top-10 running back. Well, I have good news for all of you. Week 10 is a great week to play Tony Pollard. The Giants give up the sixth most fantasy points to opposing running backs. They aren’t very good against the run. As a matter of fact, when the Cowboys played the Giants in Week 1, Pollard rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught two passes for another 12 yards. The Giants defense and team has gotten worse since then. After a tough first half of the season, my bold prediction is that Pollard should feast in Week 10.

Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Indianapolis Colts

Bold Prediction: 8 receptions, 130 yards, 1 touchdown

Brandon’s Breakdown: In Week 10, Michael Pittman Jr. plays against the New England Patriots overseas in Germany. This is a fantastic match-up for Pittman. The Patriots have given up the fourth most fantasy points per game to wide receivers over the past month. Now, the Patriots’ top cornerback, J.C. Jackson, will be absent from this match-up. That leaves Pittman in the perfect position to take advantage of a weak, depleted Patriots defense.

Colts rookie receiver, Josh Downs, is also dealing with a knee injury and missed practice on Thursday. His status is up in the air. Pittman already has a 27% target share this season. I would not be shocked if he sees a 30%+ target share in Week 10. Michael Pittman Jr is a top-10 wide receiver in Week 10 and will have over 130 yards with eight receptions and a touchdown.
