A blessing and a curse. We’re all fortunate enough to witness not one, but two MNF games tonight. The Green Bay Packers take on the New York Giants, while the Tennessee Titans will do battle with the Miami Dolphins. Unfortunately, you’ll have to choose one game to watch or flip back and forth between the two of them because both MNF games begin at 8:15. Bummer. Nobody should have to choose between watching a rising star, Quadzilla, the King, or the Cheetah. Alas, that’s the situation we’re in, so we’ll just look to make the best of it. This article was written to provide you with the information needed to build a winning DFS lineup on DraftKings.
MNF DraftKings Classic DFS Picks
Quarterback
This isn’t exactly the sexiest group of QBs. In our case that actually makes things a lot easier. Unless you like pain, there are only two quarterbacks in play here, Tua Tagovailoa and Jordan Love. Not surprisingly, they are the two highest salaried quarterbacks on the slate. Tua, the more expensive of the two, has many weapons at his disposal. His two wide receivers are also the most expensive of their position. Jordan Love on the other hand will be without his emerging WR, Christian Watson (hamstring).
I don’t recommend it, but if you’re in need of salary relief Will Levis has averaged 30 pass attempts per game. That is a number that he should not have a hard time reaching in a game where the Titans could easily be getting blown out by halftime. Unless Tennessee fully commits to Derrick Henry and the run game, Levis should at least have the opportunities. What he does with them tonight on MNF is an entirely different story.
Wide Receiver
Obviously, you can’t leave home without Tyreek Hill in your lineup, he is a walking big play. At this point, Hill is virtually guaranteed to dazzle week in and week out. It should be equally obvious, but Jayden Reed is also a must-have for your MNF lineup. With Christian Watson out, Reed’s usage should skyrocket. DeAndre Hopkins has been coming on lately, receiving 12 targets last week. Hopkins should stay busy if the Titans intend to keep up with the high-powered Miami offense. Meanwhile, in New York, the trio of Wan’dale Robinson, Isaiah Hodgins, and Darius Slayton can not be trusted for as long as Tommy DeVito is under center.
Running Back
Two names stick out on this slate. They happen to be playing in the same game. Saquon Barkley should once again be the entire offense when the Giants take on the Packers tonight on MNF. Across from him stands AJ Dillion who should once again be operating as the number one running back with Aaron Jones (Questionable) still tending to a knee injury. Even if Jones is available, his limited participation in practices this week suggests that he may not be fully over the issue. The running backs in the Dolphins game are just as interesting, as Miami running backs Devon Achane and Raheem Mostert represent two explosive options that could break the slate with a single carry. Obviously, Derrick Henry needs no introduction. He has now turned in back-to-back games over 20 DraftKings points. The game plan for Tennessee very well could be to ride Henry until the wheels fall off. He’s shown that he needs a ton of volume to get the job done this season. The hope is that he isn’t phased out due to game script.
Tight End
Honestly, there is only one tight end that I could see myself rostering on MNF and not completely hating myself. That’s Titans tight end Chig Okonkwo. Chig is a favorite target of Will Levis, having received 11 looks in the last two weeks. Tucker Kraft got six targets last week from Jordan Love. Considering that Kraft had just 7 targets in the three weeks prior gives me reason to be cautious moving forward. Daniel Bellinger can be played if you only have $2,800 left to spend and don’t yet have a tight end. Other than that, I would stay far away.
Defense
Let’s pick on the rookie quarterbacks tonight. That gives us the option of playing the Green Bay defense or the Miami Dolphins defense. Both DeVito and Levis have been careful with the football. Neither has thrown an interception in the last two weeks. However, the Miami DST has been on fire recording six interceptions in the last three weeks. With Will Levis set to throw a little more frequently than usual, the Dolphins could be in for another takeaway. Especially if the Titans are forced to take deep shots in an attempt to get back into the ballgame. Truthfully, the only defense that I’m truly avoiding is the Titans DST. There are just too many playmakers on the other side of the ball. They may be too much for Tennessee to handle on MNF.
