Week 4 Bold Predictions for the 2024 Fantasy Football Season

Najee Harris, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Bold Prediction: 21 carries, 94 yards, 1 touchdown; 4 receptions, 29 yards

 22.3 fantasy points

Fantrax Writer: Brandon Blanco, @BrandonBlancoFF

Brandon’s Breakdown: Najee Harris trails only Derrick Henry for total carries since he entered the league in 2021. The Pittsburgh Steelers did not exercise Harris’ fifth-year option for next season, which, in turn, will lead the Steelers to run Harris as much as possible this season. Get the most out of a guy before he goes into free agency, right?

Harris has the sixth-most rush attempts through three weeks. Additionally, Jaylen Warren is dealing with a knee injury. This is a perfect spot for Harris to finally finish as a RB1 in the 2024 season. In front of him will be the Indianapolis Colts. They’re average in terms of fantasy points per game allowed to running backs. However, they have allowed the most rushing yards through three games.

My bold prediction for Week 4 is that Harris will see 25+ total touches without Jaylen Warren and reach RB1 status. His larger role will yield a stat line of 21 carries, 94 yards, one touchdown to go along with four catches and 29 yards. That’s all good for 22.3 fantasy points.

Taysom Hill, TE, New Orleans Saints

Bold Prediction:  8 carries, 70 yards, 1 touchdown; 2 receptions, 10 yards

16.0 fantasy points

Fantrax Writer: Colin McTamany, @Colin_McT

Colin’s BreakdownWhen it comes to the tight end position, 16.0 points is a lot in 2024. This point total has been eclipsed just seven times by tight ends so far this season. No tight end is averaging more than 14.3 points this season either with only seven tight ends averaging 10.0 or more points per week. So, 16.0 points for any tight end is technically a bold prediction heading into Week 4.

This Week 4 bold prediction rests a bit on the utilization of Alvin Kamara. He has an elite 72 total opportunities (carries + targets) through the first three games. His rushing workload has increased from 15 to 20 to 26 carries each week, as well. That latter of which, Taysom Hill was inactive due to a chest injury. Kamara opened Week 4’s practices with a hip pointer and rib injuries. I expect him to play, but my bold prediction suggests Taysom Hill mixes in more with a season-high number of carries in his return to action to lighten Kamara’s workload.

In two games against the Atlanta Falcons last season, Hill averaged 9.5 touches for 80 yards but did not find the end zone. We know Hill often earns red zone touches, especially in goal-to-go situations, as well. Even if he doesn’t find the end zone, I do think Hill has enough of a floor to start in Week 4 if you need a (possible) replacement for Trey McBride (concussion), Sam LaPorta (ankle), or you’re just streaming the tight end position so far this season. Given how things have gone thus far with tight ends, why not chase the upside?

Mike Williams, WR, New York Jets

Bold Prediction: 6 receptions, 105 yards, 1 touchdown

22.5 fantasy points

Fantrax Writer: Ray Kuhn, @Ray_Kuhn_28

Ray’s Breakdown: Patrick Surtain is one of the best cornerbacks in the league. In fact, he is so good that he didn’t even show up in the box score last week. Surtain played so well against Tampa Bay that he simply took away half the field and held Mike Evans to just two catches for 17 yards. Evans shouldn’t feel bad as Surtain has had similar performances against George Pickens and DK Metcalf this season. In Week 4, Garrett Wilson is the next contestant to face Surtain.

In previous matchups between the two, Wilson also hasn’t done especially well. That means Aaron Rodgers will likely look to exploit other matchups in the Denver secondary. Ultimately, that brings us to Mike Williams. After he tore his ACL last year, the Jets have taken things slow with Williams to begin the season. After running just four routes in Week 1, Williams caught his only target for 19 yards in Week 2. Last week, he brought things up a level catching three of four targets for 34 yards. For the second straight week, Williams ran 20 routes. He continues to emerge healthy each week while also building up chemistry with Rodgers.

In a week where Rodgers will be looking for a number target, it’s a great opportunity for Williams to emerge in New York. The veteran has a strong track record of success down the field and Rodgers is giving us reason to believe in. After targeting eight different receivers in each of the last two games, my Week 4 bold prediction is a Mike Williams standout performance.

George Pickens, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

Bold Prediction: 7 receptions, 125 yards, 1 touchdown

25.5 fantasy points

Fantrax Writer: Justin Taylor, @jtorange

JT’s Breakdown: This is the week we see George Pickens have his biggest breakout game of the 2024 season. Pickens has had a decent start to the season, but not the type of numbers expected from a team’s number-one wide receiver. Pickens’ best game of the season was in the season opener against the Atlanta Falcons where he had six catches for 85 yards. Since then, he only has seven catches for 86 yards combined in Weeks 2 and 3 and he has yet to score a touchdown.

In Week 4, the Steelers face a Colts defense that has been on the field for more plays than any other defensive unit in the league through the first three weeks. They rank second-to-last in total defense giving up 398.3 yards per game. Most recently, Indianapolis gave up 363 yards passing and two touchdowns to rookie, Caleb Williams, and six catches for 111 yards and a touchdown to rookie, Rome Odunze, of the Chicago Bears.

Pittsburgh is currently third in the league in percentage of rushing plays on offense with 57.14% of total plays. While I would expect the Steelers to try to take advantage of the second-to-worst-ranked rushing defense in the league (179 yards per game), they might have to pass the ball more than anticipated. Starting running back, Najee Harris is banged up. How many carries will he see?

This screams breakout game for Justin Fields and, to a bigger extent, George Pickens. I think the Colts’ young secondary is going to struggle to contain Pickens and some of those deep shots are actually going to hit and count this week. Big game incoming for #14.

Will Levis, QB, Tennessee Titans

Bold Prediction: 210 passing yards, 2 touchdowns; 47 rushing yards, 1 touchdown

27.1 fantasy points

Fantrax Writer: Bradlee Kilgore, @SirBradleeK

Bradlee’s Breakdown: Will Levis has had his moments this season. Moments that make you think that the Titans might have their franchise quarterback. He’s also had moments that make him look like a fan snuck onto the field with pads on to steal a snap. While that last statement might have been a little harsh, Levis’ viability as a streamer and this Week 4 bold prediction are more about how terrible the Miami Dolphins look without Tua Tagovailoa.

Last week, the Dolphins scored three points against the Seattle Seahawks. Skyler Thompson threw for 100 yards on 19 attempts and was so bad, they put the third-string quarterback, Tim Boyle, in to replace him. The offense couldn’t get going with either guy. You would think the Dolphins would have addressed the backup quarterback position considering Tua’s concussion risk, but they did not.

It doesn’t matter that running back De’Von Achane is one of the most electric running backs in the league. The Tennessee Titans can stack the box. It doesn’t matter that Tyreek Hill is one of the most electric wide receivers in the league. The Dolphins offense is too dependent on timing for the backup quarterbacks to get him the ball.

Miami’s offense is going to have enough punts and three-and-outs without Tua that Levis is going to get plenty of possessions to rack up fantasy points. Even if he doesn’t play well, matchups matter. Levis has his best matchup of the season in Week 4.
