2024-25 Dynasty Basketball Center Rankings

We are now just a few short weeks away from the start of the 2024-25 NBA season. Several veteran centers changed teams in the off-season, altering their dynasty values for better or worse. Donovan Clingan and Zach Edey are the two prominent rookie centers to keep an eye on this season. Let’s take a look at some of the risers and fallers in the 2024-25 dynasty basketball center rankings.

Risers

Isaiah Hartenstein, Oklahoma City Thunder

Hartenstein signed a multi-year contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the off-season. He earned a three-year, $87 million deal after a career best season with the New York Knicks. Hartenstein was at his best in the last month of the season, where he averaged 11.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.6 steals over the final 16 games. There is a very good chance he wins the starting center job, which would put him in a very good position to put up career highs across the board. He moves up five spots since last seasons dynasty basketball center rankings.

Noah Clowney, Brooklyn Nets

Clowney was the 21st selection in the 2023 draft. He didn’t get much run in his rookie season as he only appeared in 23 games. However, in his final six games, he averaged 13.5 points, seven rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.3 three-pointers. His role should grow in his sophomore season as his main competition at power forward is Dorian Finney-Smith. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Clowney enter the starting five at some point, especially if Brooklyn falls out of the playoff race. He is a good bet to move up the dynasty basketball center rankings over the course of the season.

Fallers

Mitchell Robinson, New York Knicks

The New York Knicks recently acquired Karl-Anthony Towns, which could be very detrimental to Robinson’s dynasty value. Towns could take over as the starting center, which would likely relegate Robinson to the bench. Robinson’s fantasy relevance comes from his rebounding and defensive stats, which may take a hit with the addition of Towns. His field goal percentage is top-notch, but he doesn’t put up enough field goal attempts to make a big impact in that category. Robinson is also slated to miss roughly half the season after undergoing two ankle surgeries.

Wendell Carter, Orlando Magic

Carter is entering his seventh year in the league, but he has yet to play in 65 games in a season. He has only eclipsed 60 games once in his career, so his durability is a major concern. His productivity took a big hit as he averaged career lows in rebounds and blocks last season. He also averaged 11 points, which is his lowest mark since his rookie year. He averaged just 8.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks over his final 15 games last season. Carter falls four spots from last season’s dynasty basketball center rankings.
