Dynasty Basketball Center Rankings (April Update)

This is the final update of the 2024-25 dynasty basketball center rankings. There are no newcomers in the top-10, but some slight movement inside of it. Several long-time veterans have slid down the rankings, while many bright young stars are climbing their way up the ranks. Let’s take a look at some of the risers and fallers among the dynasty centers this season.

Risers

Onyeka Okongwu, Atlanta Hawks

Okongwu has made a huge jump in the dynasty basketball center rankings, moving up 21 spots since the last update. He has benefited greatly from the injuries to Jalen Johnson and Clint Capela. However, Capela is a free agent next season, potentially allowing Okongwu to slide into the starting lineup. He is in his fifth season and is currently averaging career highs in points, rebounds, assists and steals. Okongwu is averaging 15.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.1 blocks and 1.1 three-pointers over his last 14 games. It gives you a glimpse of his upside if he claims a spot in the starting five next season.

Kel’el Ware, Miami Heat

I feel pretty embarrassed for not including Ware in my last top-50 update. He was selected 15th overall in this years draft by the Miami Heat. He only played in 15 of their first 30 games and never eclipsed more than 18 minutes of playing time. However, Ware has been integral part of the Heat’s rotation since January. He is averaging 10.5 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks over his last 13 games. At only 20-years-old, it is very likely we could see Ware in the top-20 of the dynasty basketball center rankings in the near future.

Fallers

Julius Randle, Minnesota Timberwolves

Randle was dealt to the Timberwolves before the season as part of a package for Karl-Anthony Towns. While the move has worked out great for Towns, it hasn’t been a smooth transition for Randle. He has seen his points, rebounds, assists, blocks and three-pointers decline from last season. His scoring has dropped from 24.0 points to 18.8 and his rebounds have dropped from 9.2 to 7.0. He’s averaging just 18.6 points and 6.4 rebounds in his last 14 games. He also offers next to nothing in terms of defensive stats. Randle didn’t have center eligibility on the last update of the dynasty basketball center rankings, but his value has taken a serious hit this season.

Jonas Valanciunas, Sacramento Kings

Valanciunas only drops one spot in the dynasty basketball center rankings, but he’s in real danger of falling out of the top-50 entering next season. He was dealt to the Sacramento Kings at the trade deadline and his dynasty value immediately took a nosedive. He became the backup for one of the best centers in the game, Domantas Sabonis. Valanciunas is averaging just 3.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists and zero blocks over his last five games. He hasn’t played more than 14 minutes over that span. He is still under contract with the Kings for two more seasons. Valanciunas won’t become a free agent until 2027-28, when he turns 35 years old.
