Fantasy Football: Week 6 Quarterback Sleepers and Streamers

We had a bit of a mixed bag last week, with the likes of Justin Fields, Jacoby Brissett, and Gardner Minshew, but that’s par for the course if you’ve had one of your starting QBs go down. It’s ok. We’ll adapt. We know winning your leagues takes a lot of work. But don’t fear! FantraxHQ is doing the work for you. Whether it’s matchups to exploit, injury replacements, or flat-out hot takes, we’ve got your fix. In this article, we’ll highlight three potential quarterback sleepers and streamers for NFL Week 6 that could help you win your matchups.

Week 6 Quarterback Sleepers and Streamers

Joe Flacco, Indianapolis Colts

Friends…at this point, you don’t need to convince yourself. It doesn’t matter what jersey the man puts on. It doesn’t matter who the offensive coordinator is. The supporting cast is irrelevant. When Joe Flacco ties his cleats on a Sunday afternoon, he’s going to throw for 200+ yards, and at least a couple of TDs. Sure, he’ll give you some interceptions, but in the grand scheme of things, that’s only -1 points on his fantasy line. His upside is worth the risk. Speaking of risk, there is some risk that Anthony Richardson returns from his injury this week, but with the Colts facing the Titans, you might as well let Richardson get full strength and expect that Flacco and friends will be able to get the job done.

The “and friends” part of this equation is particularly meaningful to me when it comes to choosing this week’s streamer. The Colts have the 5th best offensive line in the entire NFL when it comes to yards before contact in the trenches. That means the Colts are getting the 5th most push of any offensive line in the league. Giving Flacco time to throw is a dangerous proposition for a Titans squad that is 1-3 on the year, and struggling to move the ball offensively.

Last week, Flacco went 33/44, 359 yards, and 3 TDs. Elite numbers. Plain and simple. This week, the biggest risk to repeating those numbers will be that there is a legitimate possibility that the Colts will be far enough ahead for the entire game, that the game script will favor a rushing attack to milk the clock for the second half. Regardless, if you’re in need of a QB and Richardson sits, Flacco is your best option.

Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets

First of all, I don’t think it’s a stretch to consider Rodgers a streaming option these days. He ranks 17th in fantasy QB production this year, AND he’s only 63% rostered across leagues. When the Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers, I think everyone expected the plan was to let the defense be elite, and Breece Hall would be the MVP of the team and power the offense throughout the season. In actuality, the defense has been solid, but Breece Hall’s expectations need to be reset as he’s yet to rush for over 65 yards this season, and seems to be in a closer timeshare with Braelon Allen than we would’ve guessed to start the year.

With a struggling rushing attack, the Jets have had to lean on Rodgers more than they’d like to. Rodgers threw 54 (!!) times last week, in inclement weather last week. This week, they’ll face a Buffalo offense that will be able to run the ball on them, whether it be through James Cook or Josh Allen. That means the Jets will need to keep up. The Bills have the 2nd worst defensive line, when it comes to yards before contact, according to PFF. So hopefully, Breece Hall will be able to get going, allowing for Rodgers to be more effective. With the Jets season in jeopardy, I’m expecting Rodgers to have his game of the year thus far.

Daniel Jones, New York Jets

I’ve got to be honest: It’s pretty slim pickins’ for QB streamers this week. The favorable matchups (excellent offensive lines vs. poor defensive lines) are all in favor of QBs who one would naturally start anyway. Further, the injury replacements are largely options that I don’t really like (e.g. Mason Rudolph, Tyler Huntley, Aidan O’Connell, etc.). In my mind, Daniel Jones is the next best option. Jones torched the Seahawks last week for 250+ yards and 2 TDs. AND THAT WAS WITHOUT MALIK NABERS! This week, he’ll be matched up against a Bengals defense that has let everyone score on them, and I expect Nabers to return from his concussion. I am also not a doctor. If Nabers doesn’t return, at least we know Jones can perform without him. Don’t sleep on the Giants. Daniel Jones ain’t dead yet.
