G5 Waiver Wire Finds

Quarterbacks

Kadin Semonza – Ball State

Fantrax Rostership: 11%

Total Fantasy Points: 124.95

Fantasy Points Per Game: 24.99

Kadin Semonza is averaging 34 pass attempts and 234 passing yards per game. His passing attempts per game is good for 12th in the G5 and his yardage per game is good for 20th in the G5. He is T-7th in the G5 for touchdown tosses (11). He is also averaging 11 incompletions per game. Semonza is coming off a 33.85 point game against Western Michigan. Ball State has Kent State in Week 7. Kent State allowed Cole Snyder, Eastern Michigan quarterback, 27.95 points in Week 6. I mentioned earlier that Semonza averages 11 incompletions per game…that is the exact number Cole Snyder averaged coming into his Week 6 matchup with Kent State. Snyder went on to only throw 7 incompletions (his lowest of the season). He threw for 213 yards and 1 touchdown. Look for an efficient outing from this G5 Waiver Wire Find in Week 7.

Spencer Petras – Utah State

Fantrax Rostership: 5%

Total Fantasy Points: 77.5

Fantasy Points Per Game: 25.83

Spencer Petras has been rolling since returning from injury in Week 5. He put up 26.45 points in Week 5 and 37.3 points in Week 6. He threw the ball over 40 times in each of those contests. Due to injury, he has played in about as half as many games as most quarterbacks in the G5. Yet, he is only 10 touchdowns off of the G5 touchdown leader, Chandler Morris. He is only 4 touchdowns off of being top 10 in the G5 in touchdown throws. I anticipate they will need to throw the ball to keep up with the Runnin’ Rebels in Week 7. Look for Petras to continue to rise up the passing attempts per game, passing yardage per game, and touchdown ranks amongst the G5 quarterbacks.

Running Backs

Kanye Udoh – Army

Fantrax Rostership: 23%

Total Fantasy Points: 80.5

Fantasy Points Per Game: 16.1

Kanye Udoh is averaging 11 touches per game for 87 yards. He has gone over 120 yards rushing in back-to-back weeks. He has scored 18.8 and 27 points in those weeks. Can Udoh produce another 120-yard performance? I think so! Army has UAB in Week 7. UAB has been struggling this season. They have allowed a 100-yard rusher in 2 of their last 3 weeks. While Udoh may only average 11 touches, he seems primed to break off a long one in this contest. Udoh is plug and play G5 Waiver Wire Find in Week 7.

C.J. Campbell – Florida Atlantic

Fantrax Rostership: 16%

Total Fantasy Points: 80.5

Fantasy Points Per Game: 16.1

Florida Atlantic is averaging 37 rush attempts per game to 25 pass attempts per game. C.J. Campbell is handling 31.4% of the rushing load and accounting for 32.1% of the rushing yardage. While Campbell is sharing that load with Zuberi Mobley, Campbell has been getting the touchdowns lately (3 to 1 the last 2 Weeks). C.J. is currently T-10th amongst running backs in the G5 for touchdowns (5). For reference, 2nd place is at 8 touchdowns. Nobody is catching Ashton Jeanty at the top (16)! Campbell will also give you something in the receiving game. He is averaging 2 receptions for 19 yards per game. C.J. has had fantasy points of 22, 19.9, and 26.5 in his last 3 games. Look for Campbell to continue being a big part of this Owls’ offense in Week 7 as they go up against North Texas.

Wide Receivers

Kenneth Womack – Western Michigan

Fantrax Rostership: 25%

Total Fantasy Points: 24.1

Fantasy Points Per Game: 12.05

I have written about Kenneth Womack a few times now, yet he is still out there in 75% of leagues! He made his first appearance of the season for the Broncos in Week 5. Coming off an injury, he showed no signs of it. Womack had 6 receptions on 9 targets for 43 yards. He followed that up with 7 receptions on 9 targets for 68 yards. Kenneth Womack is averaging 32% of the Broncos’ receptions and 29% of their receiving yards.  His targets per game ranks 17th in the G5. While the yardage leaves something to be desired, he is getting the volume. Kenneth Womack is a safe G5 Waiver Wire Find in Week 7 against Akron.

Coleman Owen – Ohio

Fantrax Rostership: 26%

Total Fantasy Points: 89.6

Fantasy Points Per Game: 17.92

It has been a while since I have written about Coleman Owen. Owen is averaging 7 targets, 6 receptions, and 93 yards per game heading into Week 7. He ranks 6th in receiving yardage per game in the G5. He has scored 17.2, 9.4, and 31 fantasy points in his last 3 contests. I should note his 9.4-point outcome came against Kentucky. Owen has 43.1% of the receptions and 52.6% of the receiving yardage for the Bobcats through 6 Weeks. When the Bobcats throw the ball, the ball is going to Coleman Owen more times than not. Look for Owen to have a nice game against Central Michigan in Week 7.

Tight End

Dorian Fleming – Georgia State

Fantrax Rostership: 20%

Total Fantasy Points: 48.3

Fantasy Points Per Game: 12.07

Dorian Fleming is 4th in targets (5) and yardage (50) per game amongst tight ends in the G5. Fleming has a solid average depth of target (ADOT) of 7.5 yards. That 7.5 yards indicates he is not just catching balls close to the line of scrimmage. Tight ends are hard to find off waivers, but Fleming gives you a chance to compete each week. His last 4 outings have resulted in 16.8, 6.8, 10.9, and 13.8 points. He only has 2 touchdowns in those contests which means there is still upside with Dorian Fleming! What a G5 Waiver Wire Find!

Anthony Torres – Toledo

Fantrax Rostership: 19%

Total Fantasy Points: 52.8

Fantasy Points Per Game: 10.06

Anthony Torres leads the G5 in touchdowns amongst tight ends (5). He has a respectable ADOT of 8 yards and averages 2 receptions and 21 yards per game. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but Gleason looks for Torres in the RedZone. If you pick up Torres, you are banking on him getting a touchdown. Fortunately for you, he has cashed in a touchdown in 4 of 5 weeks. The only game he did not score a touchdown in was against Mississippi State. I like his odds to add another touchdown in their Week 7 battle with Buffalo.

I have done my best to dive into the G5 landscape by bringing some names to your attention. Most leagues have had their waivers run, yet these individuals are still widely available in 70% or more of leagues. If your league utilizes a Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB), I bet you can get away with a small bid for any of these individuals. If you are looking for other additions, be sure to check out John Laub’s article, College Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 6 Gemstones.
