Must Know Fantasy Football Notes from Week 7

There’s so much going on in the NFL every week that it’s easy to miss important details, especially for your Fantasy Football leagues. We often get so focused on our Fantasy Football matchups that we overlook important information about what’s happening outside of them. That’s where I come in. I analyze every team and provide notes on what I think is crucial to know for Fantasy Football in a given week. This includes examining player roles, volume, efficiency, production, Fantasy scoring, and other noteworthy details. This series of articles is a comprehensive one-stop shop to catch up on what’s happening in the Fantasy Football world, giving you a real edge in your league. Let’s get it.

Must Know Fantasy Football Notes from Week 7

Arizona Cardinals

  • Kyler Murray scored over 20 Fantasy Points for the second time across the last three games and the third time this season. Murray was inefficient through the air which impacted his pass-catchers, throwing 14/26 (53.8%) for 145 passing yards with both a touchdown and an interception. Murray’s 64 rushing yards and a touchdown is what boosted his Fantasy week.
  • James Conner bounced back after a poor Week 6 to score 17.2 Fantasy Points, which is the fourth time this season he has scored 17+ points. Conner rushed 19 times for 101 yards and took two passes for another 51 yards.
  • Trey McBride did not have a stellar week but on a positive note, he has finished with over 50 receiving yards now for three weeks straight, scored double-digit Fantasy Points during this span, and has averaged eight targets the last three weeks.
  • Marvin Harrison Jr. has now scored under six Fantasy Points for three straight games while only catching five of his 15 targets during this span. The connection with Murray is questionable right this second.

Atlanta Falcons

  • Bijan Robinson has scored 25.5 then 23.3 Fantasy Points across the last two weeks after scoring under 14 for three straight games. Bijan is finally delivering up to expectations for his Fantasy Football draft capital. Bijan rushed for 95 then 103 yards and scored three total rushing touchdowns in the last two weeks.
  • Drake London has been on fire, scoring 18+ Fantasy Points for three straight weeks. London has scored a touchdown in each of these games, which has boosted his Fantasy production. London is averaging a sold 10.4 Fantasy Points across the last five weeks.
  • Kyle Pitts has scored 15.8, 10, then 13.5 Fantasy Points in the last three weeks. Pitts’ receiving yard upside during this span has been evident with totals of 88, 70, and then 65. Pitts has earned eight and nine targets in two of those three games.

Baltimore Ravens

  • Lamar Jackson continues to be a Fantasy Football cheat code. Jackson scored a season-high 34.44 Fantasy Points, which comes after scoring 33.42 in Week 5. Jackson threw 17/22 (77.3%) for 281 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, an interception, and rushed for 52 yards. Jackson has passed for over 280 yards for three straight weeks and has tossed 10 touchdowns across this span as well. Jackson has rushed for 50+ yards five times this season.
  • Derrick Henry had another monster rushing day, rushing 15 times for 169 yards and scoring a receiving touchdown. Henry has scored 25.2 Fantasy Points exactly for two weeks in a row. Henry has rushed for over 130 yards four times this season, scored a touchdown of some sort in every single game, and has four weeks of 25+ Fantasy Points.
  • Rashod Bateman had his best game of the season catching all four targets for 121 yards and a touchdown for 22.1 Fantasy Points. Bateman has scored double-digit Fantasy Points in four of his last five games and has three receiving touchdowns during that span. Bateman’s 121 yards in Week 7 comes after a solid 71 in Week 6.
  • Many “analysts” encouraged managers to “drop Mark Andrews” after his first four weeks of football. Andrews has scored 15.6 then 20.1 Fantasy Points in the last two weeks, which makes those suggestions look silly. Andrews has scored three touchdowns across the last two weeks and has receiving lines of 55, 66, and 41 across the last three games.
  • Justice Hill caught three passes for 44 yards and a touchdown for 13.8 Fantasy Points. Hill has three games of double-digit scoring this season in games he has finished with 52, 78, and 44 receiving yards.
  • Monitor a potential ankle injury for Zay Flowers.

Buffalo Bills

  • Josh Allen scored over 21 Fantasy Points for the second week in a row and the fourth time this season. Allen tossed a pair of touchdowns in back-to-back games as well, and 323 passing yards in Week 7 was a season-high.
  • Amari Cooper caught four of his five targets for 66 yards and a touchdown in his debut for the Bills. 16.6 Fantasy Points instantly should get Fantasy managers excited.
  • Keon Coleman had his best game of the season in Week 7. The second-round rookie caught four of his seven targets for 125 receiving yards. Seven targets, 125 yards, and 16.5 Fantasy Points were all season-highs.
  • Khalil Shakir caught all seven targets for 65 yards. Week 7 was Shakir’s third game with over 60 receiving yards and fifth with double-digit Fantasy Points through six appearances. Seven targets was a season-high.
  • James Cook returned to rush 12 times for 32 yards and a touchdown. Rookie Ray Davis, who rushed for 97 yards in Cook’s absence in Week 7, rushed just five times but for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Carolina Panthers

  • Andy Dalton’s 11/16 (68.8%) for 93 passing yards and two interceptions held this offense back. Dalton has thrown six interceptions across the last four games. At this point just put Bryce Young back in for development, no?
  • Rookie tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders caught all six targets for 61 yards, leading this offense in Fantasy Points (12.1). Sanders has earned 13 targets across the last two weeks with receiving yardage totals of 49 and 61.

Cincinnati Bengals

  • Tee Higgins caught half of his eight targets for 82 yards and a touchdown. Across the last three weeks, Higgins has produced 83, 77, then 82 receiving yards with three total touchdowns during that span. 29.1, 14.7, then 18.2 Fantasy Points during this stretch as well have been solid.
  • Ja’Marr Chase caught five of his six targets for 55 yards, scored a touchdown, and finished with 17.6 Fantasy Points. Chase is averaging 19.5 Fantasy Points so far this year and leads wide receivers with 620 receiving yards.
  • Joe Burrow threw 15/25 (60%) for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Not a stellar week after scoring over 19 Fantasy Points in the previous two weeks in a row, but a pair of touchdowns is always good.

Cleveland Browns

  • Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles injury, which meant Dorian Thompson-Robinson stepped in to take over the lead role. DTR was also forced out of the game with an injury, which meant Jameis Winston getting the nod. Winston threw 5/11 for 67 yards and a touchdown. Winston could be lined up to start in Week 8.
  • David Njoku had his best game of the season despite three different quarterbacks playing, catching 10 of his 14 targets for 76 yards and a touchdown. 23.6 Fantasy Points was a massive difference-maker in Fantasy lineups.
  • Following the departure of Amari Cooper it was Cedric Tillman from the wide receiver room who had the largest role boost. Tillman caught eight of his 12 targets for 81 yards. Tillman may be a dart-throw off of your waiver wire with hopes this role is sticky.
  • Elijah Moore caught six of his seven targets for 41 yards. This was the second week Moroe finished with double-digit Fantasy Points.
  • Nick Chubb returned to action after missing a ton of time following his gruesome knee injury. Chubb rushed 11 times for 22 yards and a touchdown. Great to see him back on the field and his reps should slowly increase as he returns to health.

Denver Broncos

  • Javonte Williams exploded in Week 7, rushing 14 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns. 26.1 Fantasy Points is Javonte’s season-high, and he scored 16.1 back in Week 5 which shows potential to have these sorts of weeks. Williams has also caught at least three passes for three straight weeks. Great performance in Week 7 for Williams, and another great matchup against Carolina to come in Week 8.
  • After scoring over 20 Fantasy Points for two weeks in a row, Bo Nix came back down to Earth with 14.06 points. Nix threw 16/26 (61.5%) for 164 yards without a touchdown in a game where he did not need to do much for the result. Nix did rush for a season-high 75 yards though in Week 7 which came after a previous season-high 61 the week before.
  • Rookie Troy Franklin caught a touchdown in Week 6 then went on to catch five of his six targets for 50 yards in Week 7. Franklin led the Broncos through the air in Week 7. Double-digit Fantasy Points two weeks in a row now. Franklin is trending up, and do not forget that his college quarterback is also now his NFL quarterback, meaning these two already had chemistry before the NFL.

Detroit Lions

  • David Montgomery missed some time in Week 7 with a knee injury but ultimately returned. This impacted his volume. Jahmyr Gibbs on the other hand had one of the biggest performances of the week, rushing 15 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns and also adding four catches for 44 yards. 32 Fantasy Points for Gibbs.
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown caught all eight targets for 112 receiving yards and a touchdown for 25.2 Fantasy Points. ARSB has finished four straight games with a touchdown.
  • Jared Goff threw 22/25 (88%) for 280 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Goff has thrown for 280+ yards in three straight games and has tossed multiple touchdowns in four straight games.
  • Jameson Williams finished with -4 yards in Week 7, and news broke that he would miss the next two games for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substances policy.

Green Bay Packers

  • Josh Jacobs rushed 12 times for 76 yards and caught five passes with one of them being for a receiving touchdown. 20.2 Fantasy Points is a season-high score for Jacobs.
  • Romeo Doubs caught eight of his 10 targets for 94 receiving yards. This performance comes after Doubs scored two touchdowns in Week 6. Doubs has scored 19.9 then 17.4 Fantasy Points the last two weeks.
  • Dontayvion Wicks caught three of six targets for 48 yards and a touchdown for 13.8 Fantasy Points. Tucker Kraft caught three of his four targets for 33 yards and a touchdown for 12.3 Fantasy Points.

Houston Texans

  • Joe Mixon rushed 25 times for 115 yards and scored two touchdowns for 26.4 Fantasy Points. Mixon has appeared in four games this season and in three of them he has rushed for over 100 yards, scored at least one touchdown, and finished with over 26 Fantasy Points.
  • CJ Stroud has an awful day at the office throwing 10/21 (47.6%) for just 86 yards. Hard for any of the pass-catchers to get much out of that.

Indianapolis Colts

  • Another poor Anthony Richardson outing with him throwing 10/24 (41.7%) for 129 passing yards, a fumble, and 56 rushing yards. Not much for any of the pass-catchers to work with there. Richardson has scored under 10 Fantasy Points in four of his five appearances this season.
  • Tyler Goodson rushed 14 times for 51 yards and a touchdown to score double-digit Fantasy Points for the second week in a row. Trey Sermon finished with nine total touches. Goodson > Sermon.

Jacksonville Jaguars

  • With Travis Etienne Jr out, Tank Bigsby took on the RB1 role and ran away with it in Week 7. Bigsby rushed 26 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns for 23.8 Fantasy Points. Bigsby has had rushing lines of 90, 101, and 118 in three of his last four games played and also has finished two games with a pair of rushing touchdowns during that span. Etienne has underwhelmed when healthy while Bigsby has thrived upon opportunity which could mean something down the road here when it comes to roles.
  • Brian Thomas Jr. caught all five targets for 89 yards and a touchdown for 22.1 Fantasy Points. The first-round rookie now has four receiving touchdowns on the year as well as four weeks above 85 receiving yards. Week 7 was also the third time across the last four weeks BTJ has finished with over 21 Fantasy Points.
  • Trevor Lawrence threw 15/20 (75%) for 193 yards and a touchdown. There have not been a lot of signs of Fantasy upside in Lawrence this season.

Kansas City Chiefs

  • Kareem Hunt rushed 22 times for 78 yards and scored two touchdowns. Hunt has finished with 28 then 24 total touches in his last two weeks, scored three rushing touchdowns across them, and produced 18+ Fantasy Points in both. Hunt is utilized as a workhorse and the production has followed.
  • Patrick Mahomes threw 16/27 (59.3%) for 154 yards and two interceptions. Mahomes has thrown an interception in six straight games this year with eight total. Mahomes has also scored under 14 Fantasy Points for three straight weeks.

Los Angeles Chargers

  • Justin Hebert threw for a season-high 349 passing yards. Herbert threw for under 180 yards in the four games prior to the BYE but then 237 and 349 after. No passing touchdowns were not a great note though from Week 7.
  • Wil Dissly caught eight of his 11 targets for 81 yards. 16.1 Fantasy Points was a great score for the week as the leader through the air for the Chargers in Week 7.
  • Joshua Palmer caught four passes for 63 yards while Ladd McConkey caught five passes for 46 yards. McConkey has been targeted at least seven times in the last three games but has scored under 10 Fantasy Points in two of them.

Los Angeles Rams

  • Kyren Williams rushed 21 times for 76 yards and two touchdowns for 19.6 Fantasy Points. Williams has rushed for a touchdown in all six games this season and has eight total rushing touchdowns on the year.
  • Tutu Atwell caught six passes for 51 yards on nine targets. Tutu has finished with over 50 receiving yards in four straight games, has scored double-digit Fantasy Points in four straight games, and has earned 19 targets across the last two games.

Las Vegas Raiders

  • Aidan O’Connell is expected to hit the IR following a fractured thumb. Gardner Minshew will be back under center moving forward.
  • Brock Bowers caught 10 of his 14 targets for 93 yards. Bowers has been targeted 12,10, then 14 times across the last three weeks with receiving yardage totals of 97, 71, then 93 with Fantasy scores of 23.7, 16.1, and 19.3. Fantasy Football dominance as a rookie tight end.
  • Alexander Mattison rushed 23 times for 92 yards and caught three passes for 31 yards. Zamir White was back but played a minimal role which makes it clear that Mattison is the RB1. Across the last two weeks, Mattison has scored 17.5 and then 15.3 Fantasy Points as the lead back.

Miami Dolphins

  • Jonnu Smith was the standout, catching all seven targets for 96 yards and a touchdown for 22.6 Fantasy Points. Smith was targeted eight times right before the BYE which hinted at this performance. Jonnu’s role has grown and hopefully its sticky.
  • De’Von Achane rushed 15 times for 77 yards and caught two passes for eight yards. Achane scored 10.5 Fantasy Points, which is not great but better than his last three games all under nine.
  • Tua Tagovailoa is eyeing a Week 8 return, which is encouraging for Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle who have been extremely Fantasy Football irrelevant since they lost their QB.

Minnesota Vikings

  • Justin Jefferson caught seven of his eight targets for 81 yards and a touchdown. 21.4 Fantasy Points marked the fourth time JJ has scored over 20 Fantasy Points this season. JJ has also finished with over 80 receiving yards now for five straight games played.
  • Aaron Jones was questionable to play in Week 7, but ended up suiting up to rush 14 times for 93 yards and a touchdown and also caught three passes for 23 yards. 20.6 Fantasy Points in Week 7 was the fourth time Jones has scored over 17 points through six appearances.
  • Sam Darnold threw 22/27 (81.5%) for 259 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Efficient but not wildly Fantasy productive.

New England Patriots

  • After scoring 19.52 Fantasy Points in Week 6, Drake Maye scored 20.84 in his second start of the season. Across the last two weeks, Maye has thrown 243/276 yards and five total touchdowns to two interceptions. Maye looks like a weekly starter for Fantasy Football and still has some rushing upside to show us more.
  • Hunter Henry caught eight of his nine targets for 92 yards. Henry scored a touchdown just last week, has earned 14 targets in the last two games, and looks to have a decent connection with his rookie quarterback.
  • JaMycal Hasty was the leader in the backfield in Week 7 due to his receiving line of five catches for 49 yards and a touchdown (15.7 Fantasy Points). Rhamondre Stevenson finished with nine touches to Antonio Gibson’s four.

New Orleans Saints

  • Spencer Rattler threw 25/35 (71.4%) for 172 yards and also rushed for 34 yards. Rattler left the game late in the fourth quarter due to a hip injury, but should be good for Week 8.
  • Cedrick Wilson was the standout through the air, catching six of his seven targets for 57 yards and a touchdown for 17.7 Fantasy Points. Rookie Mason Tipton caught six of his nine targets for 45 yards.
  • Alvin Kamara has been battling some injuries and his week made that clear with him rushing just seven times for 10 yards and catching six passes for just 14 yards.

New York Giants

  • The Eagles blew out the Giants 28-3. Daniel Jones threw for just 99 yards and no touchdowns so nobody walked away from this matchup with even nine Fantasy Points.
  • Rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr, who had two solid weeks in a row in place of Devin Singletary, led the team still in both touches and rushing yards. Tracy may have won over the lead role.

New York Jets

  • Breece Hall rushed 12 times for 38 yards and a touchdown but caught six passes for 103 yards. Hall rushed for 113 yards the week prior and caught five passes for 56 yards. The dual-threat upside is finally popping to expectation with scores of 21.9 then 26.1 Fantasy Points the last two weeks.
  • Garrett Wilson caught five of his nine targets for 61 yards. Wilson has earned 23, 10, and then nine targets in the last three weeks.
  • Aaron Rodgers threw 24/39 (61.5%) for 276 passing yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions.
  • In Davante Adams’ first game as a Jet, he was targeted nine times by Rodgers but caught just three of those for 30 yards. The immediate targets are a good sign with the hope these two get re-connected like in the Green Bay days.

New York Giants

  • Saquon Barkley got his revenge against his former team by rushing 17 times for a season-high 176 yards and scoring a touchdown. 26.7 Fantasy Points is great for managers but feels like the norm with him already having two weeks over 33 Fantasy Points. In my opinion, the list of players I would prefer over Barkley this year are extremely slim. I can maybe count on one or two fingers if that.
  • AJ Brown has now scored 19+ Fantasy Points in all three appearances with a receiving touchdown in each of them. 119, 116, and 89 receiving yard totals scream his upside but also great consistency.
  • Jalen Hurts only had to throw 14 times but finished with one passing and two rushing touchdowns. Back-to-back weeks with over 21 Fantasy Points.

Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Russell Wilson logged his first start of the season and threw 16/29 (55.2%) for 264 yards and two touchdowns. 24.86 Fantasy Points hints at streaming potential.
  • George Pickens had his best game of the season with Russ, catching five of nine targets for 111 yards and a touchdown. 22.1 Fantasy Points. After two down games, this is a great sign.
  • 20.2 Fantasy Points in Week 6 then 16.2 in Week 7 for Najee Harris. Najee rushed for 106 and 102 yards with a touchdown in both of these games. Trending up.

Seattle Seahawks

  • Kenneth Walker III continued to produce at a high level for Fantasy Football with 23.3 Fantasy Points. KWIII scored his sixth touchdown through five games. KWII’s 22.3 Fantasy PPG ranks second right now for the position. Breakout year.
  • DK Metcalf finished with 99 yards and a touchdown for 19.9 Fantasy Points but unfortunately suffered a minor MCL sprain. Unfortunate injury news to monitor.
  • Geno Smith threw 18/28 (64.3%) for 207 yards and two touchdowns. 17.78 Fantasy Points in Week 7 marked the fourth time Geno scored 17+ points.

San Fransisco 49ers

  • Brock Purdy threw 17/31 (54.8%) for 212 yards but had three interceptions without a touchdown. 27 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns saved his Fantasy week (17.18 points).
  • George Kittle continued his hot streak catching six of seven targets for a season-high 92 yards. 15.2 Fantasy Points came after two games with over 20 Fantasy Points. Kittle has a sprained foot and is day-to-day so we need to monitor this.
  • Brandon Aiyuk sustained tears to the ACL and MCL, ending his season. Deebo Samuel was dealing with an illness that sidelined him.
  • Ricky Pearsall played his first game and earned five targets straight away. First-round draft capital pushes Pearsall for usage. Jacob Cowing, another rookie, took two catches for 50 yards. Jauan Jennings has been dealing with a hip injury that he can return sometime soon from. Jennings had plenty of Fantasy relevance when the opportunity was there. These guys will get a boost with the absence of Aiyuk.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Chris Godwin will undergo surgery on his dislocated left ankle from Week 7. Mike Evans will likely remain out through the Buccaneers’ Week 11 BYE due to a hamstring injury. Major blows to this offense at the same time.
  • Rachaad White had his best game of the season scoring 29.1 points. White rushed 10 times for 40 yards, caught six passes for 71 yards, and scored two receiving touchdowns. This is the receiving upside we know White has had since he has been in the league and with the blow to the wide receiver room he could see a bump in that usage.
  • Bucky Irving rushed nine times for 23 yards and a touchdown and finished with a season-high 54 receiving yards on three catches. Bucky has scored in back-to-back games with 18.5 then 16.7 Fantasy Points. Sean Tucker finished with six touches after his monster Week 6.
  • Cade Otton had his best game of the season catching eight of 10 targets for 100 yards. Season-high 18 Fantasy Points. Otton was coming off of a week he scored a touchdown. Another prime candidate for an increase in weekly targets following the Evans/Godwin injuries. Huge game.
  • Rookie Jalen McMillan earned eight targets but caught just three of them for 15 yards. Sneaky waiver wire add with the potential for a big boost in his role.
  • Bkaer Mayfield threw 31/45 (68.9%) for 370 yards, three passing touchdowns, two interceptions, 22 rushing yards, and 27 Fantasy Points. Baker has scored over 23 Fantasy Points for four straight games and five times this season. One of the hottest quarterbacks to roster for Fantasy Football, but the injuries could impact his ceiling .

Tennessee Titans

  • Mason Rudolph recorded his first start of the season. The result was no player scoring 10 Fantasy Points. Outside of Tony Pollard, this has been one of the worst offenses to have players from for Fantasy Football this year. Hard to even think about rostering any pass-catcher.

Washington Commanders

  • Jayden Daniels suffered a rib injury in the first drive of the game and is now considered week-to-week. Marcus Mariota took over to throw 18/23 (78.3%) for 205 yards, two passing touchdowns, 34 rushing yards, and 19.6 Fantasy Points.
  • Terry McLaurin caught all six targets for 98 yards. 15.3 Fantasy Points comes after a big 23.3-point week. This sort of performance is encouraging with a backup quarterback.
  • Zach Ertz had his best game of the season, catching four of his five targets for 50 yards and a touchdown for 14 Fantasy Points. Back-to-back weeks with double-digit Fantasy Points.
  • Brian Robinson Jr. returned from missing Week 6 to rush 12 times for 71 yards and a touchdown. BRob has scored 13+ Fantasy Points in three straight games played. His limited snap percentage was due to coming back from injury, I would say.
