Fantasy Football 2024: Week 9 Wide Receiver Rankings

Going into Week 9 we hit two more season-ending injuries in Stefon Diggs and Christian Kirk that will shake up my wide receiver rankings. The Diggs injury opens up targets for Tank Dell and the Kirk injury should solidify Brian Thomas Jr. as a top wide receiver the rest of the season. Aside from injuries, CeeDee Lamb is starting his second half of the season dominance. He racked in 13 receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. This is why he was drafted number one in most leagues. But, if you don’t have Lamb, Ja’Marr Chase, or Justin Jefferson then these rankings will be sure to help you set your lineup this week.

Wide Receiver Notes

  • Let’s start with Tyreek Hill as my WR6 against the Bills this week. Tua Tagovailoa is back but Hill still struggled to score more than 15 fantasy points. Last week he had six receptions for 72 receiving yards. But, this is the make-or-break week for Hill. The Bills are tough, but Hill is a freak and can dominate any defense. I expect the Dolphins to be down this game and are going to resort to throwing the ball. Hill is going to have a big game this week.
  • Next, I have Davante Adams as my WR27. I am being a little more generous with Adams because he can turn it on at any time. But, Aaron Rodgers has not looked like Rodgers in Green Bay. Adams has only scored over 10 fantasy points just once this season. The only reason I have Adams inside the top 30 this week is because they are playing the Texans. The Texans are giving up 28.3 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year. Adams is a flex option this week, but could easily be benched this week.
  • Terry McLaurin is my WR11 this week and McLaurin has been extremely consistent all season. Since Week 3, McLaurin has scored double digits in fantasy points and has four touchdowns in that stretch. The Commanders have the Giants this week and this game should be a lot more different for McLaurin than their Week 2 matchup. Jayden Daniels is looking good and McLaurin is going to get his targets. He was a step away from breaking a huge touchdown last week against the Bears.
  • Last, I have Amari Cooper as my WR19 this week. Cooper has been a weird one this year. He either has a huge game or a donut game. This one is a toss-up. Cooper is still new to the team, but he is not a rookie and should be able to adapt. This is not the first time he has been traded, and this is the best quarterback he has played with. All signs point to him producing, but maybe this is not his year.
