G5 Finals Waiver Wire

Quarterbacks

Colton Joseph – Old Dominion (ODU)

Fantrax Rostership: 29%

Total Fantasy Points: 277.8

Fantasy Points Per Game: 30.9Β

Over ODU’s last five games, Colton Joseph has averaged 18 completions on 28 pass attempts for 234 yards and 1.4 touchdowns. Over that same five-game span, he has averaged 15 rush attempts for 82 yards and 1.8 touchdowns. Those stats have been good for 39.2 fantasy points. ODU will play at Arkansas State this week. Over Arkansas State’s last three games, their defense is allowing, on average, 19 completions on 34 pass attempts and 1.3 touchdowns per game. Their rushing defense has allowed a total of 603 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground over that same three game span. Expect to see a heavy dose of Colton Joseph in the rushing attack on Saturday as ODU looks to finish the season on a high note. If your team is down big heading into the weekend, Colton Joseph could be that G5 Final Waiver Wire name that keeps you in the game.

Braylon Braxton – Marshall

Fantrax Rostership: 10%

Total Fantasy Points: 232.4

Fantasy Points Per Game: 25.8

If you need a DEEP quarterback play in Week 14, look to Braylon Braxton. Marshall has James Madison in Week 14. James Madison has allowed 319 yards rushing and five touchdowns via the ground over the last two weeks. Braylon Braxton is an absolute weapon with his legs. He is coming off a game in which he ran for 140 yards on the ground. Braxton has averaged 47.2% of the rushing attempts for the Thundering Herd over the last two weeks. The Thundering Herd are looking to position themselves in the Sun Belt Conference Championship game. Look for them to lean heavily on Braylon Braxton. If you need a quarterback, let Braxton’s leg do the work for you in Week 14.

Bryson Barnes – Utah State

Fantrax Rostership: 3%

Total Fantasy Points: 145.8

Fantasy Points Per Game: 18.2

Do you need another long shot? Bryson Barnes is a great G5 Final Waiver Wire name to know. I find it highly unlikely we will see Spencer Petras in Week 14 against Colorado State. In relief, Barnes went 13 of 15 for 139 yards passing and three touchdowns. He added 193 yards and a touchdown on the ground too. He had a monster Week 13! Colorado State’s defense is allowing quarterbacks to complete 17 passes on 28 attempts for 184 yards and one touchdown per game over their last 3 games. They are also allowing 156 yards rushing and 1.6 touchdowns per game over that same span. I also believe Utah State will be down their starting running back, Rahsul Faison. Given the injuries facing the Aggies, I believe Bryson Barnes will need to do it all for them in Week 14.

Running Backs

Ahmani Marshall – Appalachian State

Fantrax Rostership: 7%

Total Fantasy Points: 110.3

Fantasy Points Per Game: 11

Ahmani Marshall has averaged 23.25 carries for 116.75 yards rushing and one touchdown over his last four contests. Those stats are good for 20.6 fantasy points per game. Appalachian State needs to win this game to become bowl-eligible. I believe we see Appalachian State stick with their run-focused approach in their Week 14 matchup with Georgia Southern. Georgia Southern’s defense is allowing 189 yards and 1.5 touchdowns per game over their last four contests. Given Appalachian State’ s recent run game success, Marshall is a great G5 Final Waiver Wire plug-and-play this week.

Rahjai Harris – East Carolina (ECU)

Fantrax Rostership: 21%

Total Fantasy Points: 165.8

Fantasy Points Per Game: 15.1Β

Rahjai Harris has been performing very well since the Pirates made the switch at Head Coach. Blake Harrell is 4-0 since taking over as Head Coach. In those four games Rahjai Harris is averaging 15.25 rushing attempts for 106.75 yards and 1.75 touchdowns. Those stats are good for 22.4 fantasy points per game. In fact, Harris only has one game with less than 100 yards rushing (Week 11); however, he was still able to amass 13.3 fantasy points that week. The Pirates have a date with Navy in Week 14. Navy’s defense has allowed 385 yards rushing and five rushing touchdowns over their last three games. That equates to 128.3 rushing yards and 1.6 touchdowns per game. Given Navy’s recent struggles stopping the run and Harris’ recent success, I expect we see another solid game from Rahjai Harris.

Wide Receivers

Makai Jackson – Appalachian State

Fantrax Rostership: 14%

Total Fantasy Points: 135.8

Fantasy Points Per Game: 13.6

Appalachian State’s leading wide receiver, Kaedin Robinson, suffered a season-ending injury in Week 12. Robinson led the team with 840 yards receiving. Next most is Makai Jackson with 426 yards receiving. Jackson had accounted for 17.6% of Appalachian State’s receptions over their last four games. What did Makai Jackson do in his first game without Robinson? He had five receptions on six targets for 162 yards and one touchdown. That was good for 27.2 fantasy points. Jackson’s reception percentage skyrocketed to 41.7%. I don’t believe Appalachian State throws it a ton, but when they do…Makai Jackson is the G5 Final Wire Wire name to know.

Joseph Williams – Tulsa

Fantrax Rostership: 13%

Total Fantasy Points: 108.9

Fantasy Points Per Game: 10.9

Per NBA Jams rules, Joseph Williams is on fire! Over his last three games, he is averaging 5.7 receptions on 9.7 targets for 132 yards and 1.6 touchdowns. Over that same time span, he has accounted for 29.8% of Tulsa’s receptions. He has led the team in receptions and receiving yards too. Tulsa has Florida Atlantic (FAU) in Week 14. Over their last three games, FAU’s defense is allowing 319 yards and 2.7 touchdowns through the air. The leading wide receivers in those three games have all eclipsed 100 yards receiving and seen a touchdown (except Dante Wright for Temple. Wright had 14 receptions for 147 yards). Given FAU’s inability to stop the pass and Tulsa’s new found wide out, Joseph Williams is a plug and play G5 Final Waiver Wire name.

Yamir Knight – James Madison (JMU) – good to go

Fantrax Rostership: 1%

Total Fantasy Points: 125.9

Fantasy Points Per Game: 11.4

Yamir Knight has led the Dukes in receptions and receiving yards in each of the past three games. He is averaging five receptions on six targets for 82 yards and 0.6 touchdowns during that three-game stretch. Those stats are good for 17.87 points per game. Over that same three-game stretch, James Madison is averaging 221 yards and two touchdowns per game. James Madison has Marshall in Week 14. Marshall is allowing, on average, 248 yards and one touchdown through the air over their last two games. Look for the Dukes and Knight to have success through the air in Week 14.
