Monday Night Football NFL DFS Picks: Ravens @ Chargers

Tonight is the battle of the Harbaugh brothers. Stop me if you have heard this story before, but that is just one of the many storylines as the Baltimore Ravens travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers. It should be an exciting matchup filled with strong quarterback play between Lamar Jackson and Justin Herbert. It’s going to be a tightly contested game that can go in either direction as the road Ravens are favored by 2.5 points. Offense should also be in full supply with an over/under of 50.5. As we consider our DFS picks, there is a lot for us to consider.  Here are some Monday Night Football NFL DFS picks with preferences ranked within each category so you can find success.

Monday Night Football NFL DFS Picks: Ravens @ Chargers

Captain

Justin Herbert, QB, Los Angeles Chargers

The Ravens defense is fast and loose against opposing quarterbacks this season. They are giving up the third most DFS points, and Justin Herbert is next in line to capitalize on that. He will have to keep up with Lamar Jackson, and as the season has progressed, the Chargers have been more willing to let Herbert take to the air.

Last week against Cincinnati, Herbert struggled with efficiency as he only completed 47.2% of his passes. However, he did throw for 297 yards and two touchdowns while adding another 65 yards on the ground. Herbert is up to 13 touchdowns and 2,186 yards on the season with just one interception. His receiving corps is starting to round into form and Herbert is skilled enough to capitalize.

Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens

After a rough game against the Steelers, Lamar Jackson is looking to rebound tonight. He only managed 207 passing yards and one touchdown as Baltimore lost what was a winnable game. From a fantasy perspective, Jackson’s 46 rushing yards helped to make it a reasonable fantasy day. That is par for the course with Jackson who has 584 rushing yards on the season with two more touchdowns.

The good news with Jackson is that we aren’t in a position where we need to rely on his rushing. He’s up to 25 passing touchdowns on the season compared to just three interceptions. With an average of 262 passing yards per game, it’s clear that Baltimore’s intention is to push things down the field and through the air.

Flex

Ladd McConkey, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

While the rookie is dealing with a shoulder injury and has been limited in practice the week, it appears that he will be taking the field tonight. That is good news as Ladd McConkey has been finding his groove and developing chemistry with Herbert. It’s even better news that the Ravens are allowing the most DFS points to opposing receivers.

As the Chargers battled the Bengals last week, McConkey came up huge with six catches for 123 yards. After a slow start to the season, McConkey has 43 catches for 615 yards and four touchdowns. He has found his way into the number one receiver role and tonight figures to be a favorable game flow.

Derrick Henry, RB, Baltimore Ravens

The first season in Baltimore for Derrick Henry was gone as about as well as it could. Henry is up to 15 touchdowns on the season while averaging an insane six yards per carry. While the Chargers defense does defend the run well, Henry is simply that good and too big a part of Baltimore’s offense.

Since Week 1, Henry hasn’t rushed for less than 65 yards and he has at least one touchdown in every game so far this year.

J.K. Dobbins, RB, Los Angeles Chargers

We have the J.K Dobbins revenge game tonight as the running back faces his former team. Dobbins is healthy and showing what he can do when truly given the chance. Through 10 games, he is averaging 15.2 carries and 72.6 yards per game on the ground as the number back for the Chargers. For as high scoring as we can expect tonight’s game to be, the Chargers are still going to commit to the run game. Establishing control of the ball will be important, and that’s where Dobbins comes into play.

Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

If McConkey is sidelined, then Quentin Johnston becomes more critical, but he’s going to have a role regardless. The price is right for the Chargers’ deep threat and Johnston has a touchdown in each of the last three weeks. We do have to watch on the efficiency though as Johnston was targeted eight times last week but caught just two passes. Six of Johnston’s 22 catches this season have gone for touchdowns and he is averaging 16.1 yards per reception.

Will Dissly, TE, Los Angeles Chargers

We have seen Will Dissly take on an increased role as of late, and it has agreed with him. Dissly has been targeted six times in each of the last two games while catching nine passes for 120 yards and a touchdown. I’d expect Dissly to have a substantial role once again.

Value

While it may not be overly exciting, we have to look at offense across the board tonight. In Cameron Dicker and Justin Tucker, we have two elite kickers who have shown the ability to really make things happen. Both should be on our radars tonight for salary cap relief.

Fade

Zay Flowers, WR, Baltimore Ravens

After two games of over 100 receiving yards, Zay Flowers has just 73 yards total in the last two. It hasn’t come from a true lack of opportunity as Flowers was targeted six times per game, but he’s only secured half of them. While Flowers is still the number-one receiver for Baltimore, he is simply too inconsistent for the price. That doesn’t mean Flowers can’t, or won’t have a big game, but it’s just tough to bank on.
