Week 10 Fantasy Hockey Goalie Streams

Not every starting goalie is going to be rostered in your fantasy hockey league at all times. Some of the struggling teams have solid starters that can have impressive weeks or stretches of hockey and really be game-changers. This is the streaming options we have in store for you today. There’s not necessarily many backups that should have the opportunity to outplay these three starters who have played well lately. Just maybe they can be more than a one-week stream too.

Fantasy Hockey Week 10 Goalie Streams

Sam Montembeault, Montreal Canadiens

Sam Montembeault has won eight of his 20 starts this season and while the Montreal Canadiens are four games under .500, they have won five of their last 10 games. The Canadiens’ starter was just named as one of the three goalies for Team Canada for the 4 Nations Face-Off, which shows just how good he is if there was more help in front of him. The team isn’t going to magically turn things around and go on a massive winning streak, but they have Patrik Laine back and are playing better.

Montembeault has started three games in a row, recording at least 29 saves in each of them. He won two of the three and even had a shutout as well. Montreal has a pretty favorable week as the team plays the Anaheim Ducks, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Winnipeg Jets. Anaheim isn’t a big scoring team, Pittsburgh has played better lately but is still near the bottom of the standings, and the Jets are struggling. Montembeault isn’t a bad play and is a better overall option than a backup this week.

Tristan Jarry, Pittsburgh Penguins

I just mentioned the Penguins playing better lately, and a big part of that is due to Tristan Jarry’s play in net. It took him a few starts to get back into the flow of the game after returning to the team, but he has now won four games in a row and posted a better than .900 SV% in three of them.

This recent play by Jarry should get him the nod in net more often than Alex Nedeljkovic. The Penguins have one of the easier schedules this week when they face the Colorado Avalanche, Canadiens, and Ottawa Senators. The Avalanche can score, but will also be scored on. The Penguins can just as easily defeat them as did the Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins, and Vancouver Canucks. The Canadiens are last in the Eastern Conference and don’t exactly score a ton while the Senators have the same sort of situation as the Avalanche, except they struggle to win as much. Jarry is a great option to look at and if the Penguins are rolling, he is a must add.

Mackenzie Blackwood, San Jose Sharks

I know not many are that inclined to pick up a goalie from the San Jose Sharks, but there are much worse options out there and the Sharks aren’t as bad as last season or some other teams in net. Mackenzie Blackwood is once again playing well for San Jose as he has a .909 SV% through 17 starts this season. While only having recorded six wins, two of them are in the past four games.

San Jose can score and compete, but they also let in chances and a lot of shots most nights. This gives Blackwood an opportunity to save more shots, and he has, for the most part, boosted his SV%. He is coming off a game in which he stopped 49 shots from the Panthers in a loss. Blackwood also has one shutout this season. The opponents of the Sharks this week are the Carolina Hurricanes, St. Louis Blues, and Utah HC. The Hurricanes are good but are coming off a loss. The Blues have played better, but don’t score a ton and are also coming off a loss. Utah is very hit-and-miss this season, so I wouldn’t count Blackwood out as he should start two of these games.
