Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Week 11 Forward Streams

Sometimes there are a number of different forwards to choose from when considering streaming someone for a week, but other times the pickings are slimmer. This week there are more of the lesser-owned forwards in fantasy hockey doing well, making the choice even more difficult to get an upper hand on your opponents. These are three who should be great streaming options for Week 11.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 11

Rickard Rakell, Pittsburgh Penguins

Rickard Rakell is always an underrated player in fantasy hockey. He may or may not be drafted and half the time you will find him on the waiver wire. He is definitely overshadowed by names like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin on the Pittsburgh Penguins. It also doesn’t help that the team was playing very poorly at the start of the season. Regardless of how well the team did, while playing with Crosby and on the top power-play unit, he has had a successful season thus far.

Rakell has 13 goals and 22 points in 32 games, which isn’t anything special, but he has six goals and 10 points in his last nine games and is heating up alongside the Penguins. Three of those points have come on the man advantage and he not only shoots often, he hits and blocks shots nearly as much. Rakell is an all-around player who is playing on a great line and producing. The Penguins also play the Los Angeles Kings, Nashville Predators, and New Jersey Devils, but don’t let that shy you away from adding him.

Shane Wright, Seattle Kraken

Shane Wright is coming into his own in the NHL and it has gone on for a little bit now. Since being a healthy scratch for three games in the late stages of November, the young center has come back with six goals and 12 points in 11 games. He also has three goals and seven points in the last six games with three of those points coming on the power play.

Wright still plays on the third line, but there’s absolutely no need to change that right now. His line gets better matchups and still plays a good amount. He needs to start shooting more, but with goals starting to come, shots very well may pick up. The Seattle Kraken are one of few teams this week who play four times. Their opponents are the Ottawa Senators, Chicago Blackhawks, Vegas Golden Knights, and Colorado Avalanche. Wright should be able to generate more production against the bottom on those teams who are more top-heavy.

Kirill Marchenko, Columbus Blue Jackets

Kirill Marchenko has quietly been going about his business for the Columbus Blues Jackets and proving to be a star in the making. The Blue Jackets aren’t anything special this season, but they have been effective in scoring goals partly thanks to Marchenko. He is on the top line with Sean Monahan and the two have had great chemistry all season. Marchenko proved he could score last season, but has been boosting his points by also assisting on goals this season as well.

Marchenko is on the top power-play unit and has one goal and five points in his last six games. He is definitely more of a streaming option, but he hasn’t gone cold at any time this season and should produce some points this week again. The Blue Jackets face the Tampa Bay Lightning, Devils, and Philadelphia Flyers, so the matchups aren’t terrible either.

Look at Rakell first as he could be a long-term play. If Wright keeps up his recent play and with the four-game slate, he’s a sneaky potential addition. Consistency comes from Marchenko if that is what you value most. Make sure to check in next week for the latest streaming options at forward.
