Last week, my Sleepers pieces had a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on. I was on with all of my wide receivers. Kenny Stills, Tyrell Williams, and Nelson Agholor (in at least .5 PPR) all hit last week which is great for this edition of Week 2 Wide Receiver Sleepers. I am not tooting my own horn as much as I am saying stay tuned for more accurate wide receiver takes all season long.
The tight ends? That is another story, But, in a week where Travis Kelce, Trey Burton, Jimmy Graham, and David Njoku all put up duds, cut me some slack.
These Week 2 wide receiver sleepers all have great matchups and can be used this week as flex plays.

Week 2 Wide Receiver Sleepers
Justin Hunter, Pittsburgh Steelers
Justin Hunter should not be started in 12-team leagues or smaller. But, I love him as a value-DFS play or a flex in deeper leagues. He can be used as a fill-in this week as the Steelers will be hosting the Kansas City Chiefs who just allowed over 400 passing yards to Philip Rivers.
Hunter was on the field for 51 offensive snaps and was targeted five times during a rainy game in Cleveland against the Browns. While he only caught one of those passes, Hunter was on the field in the red zone at that means touchdown opportunity against a poor defense.
Ben Roethlisberger will be out for vengeance after five turnovers in that Browns game. The likely improved quarterback play and nice matchup make Justin Hunter a deep Week 2 wide receiver sleeper.
Mike Wallace, Philadelphia Eagles
Mike Wallace was supposed to be a great play last Thursday against the Falcons. With Alshon Jeffery out, Wallace was the projected WR1 for Nick Foles.
It turns out that Nick Foles hyper-targets the slot (which benefits Zach Ertz and Nelson Agholor). Wallace was on the field for most of the game and saw only two fewer snaps than Agholor, but finished without a reception.
Wallace was targeted three times. Two of those passes were deep down the filed and one of those was in targets was in the end zone.
The Eagles will be playing the Buccaneers who just gave up 439 passing yards. Fire up Wallace as a solid flex-play.
Josh Doctson, Washington Redskins
The Redskins offense looked proficient on Sunday with Alex Smith at the helm. Cool and collective, Smith was able to control the game. Game-manager. Winner. Ball-player.
None of the three wide receivers the Redskins field produced in terms of Fantasy. This actually is a good thing for Josh Doctson. Just like he did for most of last season, Doctson (70) led all Redskins receivers in offensive snaps. Paul Richardson had 61 and Jamison Crowder had 49.
Why is this? Well, the Redskins had a lead the entire game so there was no need for three-receiver sets. Crowder is used in most of these but it is Richardson and Doctson in two WR formations. In one wideout sets? The guy is Doctson.
While he only caught one of three passes, in Week 2 Doctson will be playing the Colts, whose defense was just carved up by Andy Dalton. Alex Smith should not have a problem getting the ball to Doctson now that he won’t have to deal with Patrick Peterson.
Brandon Marshall. Seattle Seahawks
Marshall looked great in Week 1. He caught three passes on six targets for 46 catches with one touchdown. Now, he will be presented with even more opportunity.
The tour of Marshall’s former teams will continue next week as the Seahawks will visit the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. After scoring against the Broncos, Marshall will be in a good position to do so again in Week 2 as Doug Baldwin will most likely miss time due to an MCL sprain.
There are targets to go around in the Seahawks offense. Russell Wilson is good enough to get multiple receivers involved.. Jimmy Graham’s league-leading 26 red zone targets are vacant in Seattle and Marshall has made a career scoring touchdowns.
Fire up Marshall as a legitimate flex play with probably the best opportunity of my Week 2 wide receiver sleepers.
