Welcome to Part 3 of our 2019 NHL Draft Rankings. We’re covering the top 100 prospects, and ranking them based on their potential to produce in a fantasy hockey league.
Today we’ll resume the countdown with the players ranked 41 to 60.

NHL Draft Rankings
60. Henry Thrun, D, U.S. NTDP (USHL)
Thrun makes an effective first pass and has a decent shot. He’s a quick skater and can play the man, but could use some more bulk on his body.
59. Tuukka Tieksola, RW, Karpat (Jr. A SM-liiga)
Tieksola is an undersized winger at 5’10”. He would need more development than most players at this stage of the draft, but his high offensive upside makes it worth the wait.
58. Jackson LaCombe, D, Shattuck St. Mary’s (Prep)
LaCombe is a forward who was converted to defense, and has thrived at his new position. It remains to be seen if he can continue this level of production against stiffer competition.
57. Anttoni Honka, D, JYP (FIN)
Honka is a polarizing prospect. The offense he can bring is among the best of the defensemen in this draft. However, his defensive game has glaring holes in it. A high-risk, high-reward player.
56. Mads Sogaard, G, Medicine Hat (WHL)
A massive goaltender standing at 6’7″. Despite his size, he’s quite athletic and agile. Could become a starting goaltender down the road.
55. Ryan Johnson, D, Sioux Falls (USHL)
Johnson is a fluid skater with the tools to be successful. His play has been very inconsistent though, in both the offensive and defensive zones.
54. Samuel Fagemo, LW, Frolunda (SHL)
Fagemo has good hands and a nice shot. He’s very offensive-minded, but needs to work on his game without the puck, and play with more physicality.
53. Michal Teply, LW, Liberec (CZE)
Teply is a high-end playmaker with good vision on the ice. He has some size at 6’3″ but isn’t overly physical.
52. Ilya Nikolayev, C, Loko (MHL)
Nikolayev is an effective player when he wants to be. Consistency has been an issue, as he has the talent to be a difference maker.
51. Patrik Puistola, LW, Tappara (FIN)
Puistola is a creative player with the puck with good stick-handling. His skating and lack of physicality hold him back a bit.
50. Vladislav Kolyachonok, D, Flint (OHL)
Kolyachonok has good offensive instincts and a long reach to break up plays. Some more consistency could make him an effective all-around defenseman.
49. Vladislav Firstov, LW, Waterloo (USHL)
Firstov has a powerful shot and great speed on his skates. He just needs to add some bulk to round out his game.
48. Yegor Spiridonov, LW, Magnitogorsk (MHL)
Spiridonov is not the greatest skater, but he’s difficult to push off the puck, and plays a solid 200-foot game. He’s not afraid to get physical or block a shot.
47. Alex Vlasic, D, U.S. NTDP (USHL)
Vlasic has all the tools to be a quality defender at hockey’s highest level. However, like Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Alex will likely be much more impactful in real-life than in the fantasy realm.
46. Nicholas Robertson, LW, Peterborough (OHL)
Robertson is a highly skilled forward with good speed. His small frame at 5’9″ makes him more of a gamble though.
45. Alex Beaucage, RW, Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL)
Beaucage is a skilled two-way winger that can play physical and block shots. His skating needs some improvement before reaching the next level.
44. Kaedan Korczak, D, Kelowna (WHL)
Korczak brings mobility and physicality to the game. While his offense isn’t up to par with the rest of his game, he should be considered one of the safer picks on defense to crack an NHL roster one day.
43. Maxim Cajkovic, RW, Saint John (QMJHL)
Cajkovic has a high offensive ceiling, with a knack for scoring off the rush. His attention to detail, especially in the defensive zone, could use some work.
42. Egor Afanasyev, C, Muskegon (USHL)
Afanasyev has good offensive instincts, most notably by parking himself in front of the net. He uses his size well to screen the goaltender and score goals down low.
41. Jamieson Rees, C, Sarnia (OHL)
Rees is a tenacious forward who can get under his opponent’s skin. If he can stay disciplined, he should become an effective middle six forward in the NHL.
