Welcome back to another edition of my top 100 starting pitcher rankings for redraft leagues! This week we have three more prospects added to the top 100 in Sixto Sanchez, Triston McKenzie, and Dane Dunning. While neither Dunning or McKenzie is as exciting as Tarik Skubal or Casey Mize, they both had impressive debuts this past week. Sanchez on the other hand was phenomenal in his debut and should stick in the Marlins rotation for the rest of the season. His combination of impressive fastball velocity and elite changeup will give major leaguers fits.
This week brings more new names than ever before with a whopping 16 being added to the list. As always check the bottom of the page to see players leaving the list and new players who were added. Enjoy the list and interact with me about it on Twitter @devjake.

Top-100 Starting Pitcher Rankings for Redraft Leagues
Notes on player movement:
- After a rough start to the year, Walker Buehler makes a massive jump from 22 all the way up to number 9! This past week he dominated the Rockies by striking out 11 batters while allowing zero walks and just four hits. To quote John Wick, “Yeah, I’m thinking I’m back!”
- Zac Gallen finally gets his long-awaited move up my rankings from number 21 to number 16. I don’t know how anyone could possibly doubt him now that he has posted a 2.25 ERA with 42 strikeouts and 12 walks over 36 innings while facing some of the toughest teams in the league. He just knows how to pitch.
- Jack Flaherty drops from number 8 to number 20 after lasting just 1.2 innings this past week vs the Cubs. Until he is throwing more pitches I simply can’t justify him in the top 10.
- Those who listen to the Five Tool Fantasy Baseball Podcast know that I love my command first pitchers. For this reason, it warms my heart to see Kenta Maeda, Pablo Lopez, Hyun Jin Ryu, and Jesus Luzardo continue to rise in the rankings. The combination of command and stuff with these guys is pretty phenomenal.
- Have you heard Kevin Gausman is striking out a ton of guys? In fact, his 30.4% strikeout minus walk rate is the third-best in major league baseball among starters with at least 20 innings pitched. Only Shane Bieber and Trevor Bauer have been better. He is also criminally under-owned at 78% in Fantrax leagues.
- Elieser Hernandez and Corbin Burnes, both who joined this list last week, rose substantially as they continued to impress. Hernandez is particularly interesting and is making a case to be rostered in all formats, no matter how shallow.
- I mentioned before how I love command first pitchers, if you do as well I implore you to watch Zach Davies. He moves up from 75 to 48 with the help of a 0.84 WHIP, which ranks among the top 10 best marks among all starting pitchers. He has been fabulous.
- If you love pitching and you missed Episode 23 of the Five Tool Fantasy Baseball Podcast where we had on Alex Chamberlain of RotoGraphs then stop reading this and go check that out. Welcome back, I hope you enjoyed it! If you did you will realize that Alex’s guy Randy Dobnak features prominently and he moves up this week from 59 to 47. Dobnak has posted a 1.78 ERA through his first six starts helped by a ground ball rate of 62.4%–the third-best mark in the big leagues.
- Just when I told you to kick Luke Weaver to the curb he rose from the dead to post his two best starts of the year. He has talent, this we know. Is it sustainable? This we do not know. Good luck!
- A couple of young guys in Seattle are playing pretty well in Justus Sheffield and Nick Margevicius. If you remember, Sheffield was the prize in James Paxton trade. Sheffield is now in the top 100 and Paxton is on the IL.
- All of the St. Louis Cardinals starters are now in the top 100 after Dakota Hudson, Daniel Ponce de Leon, and Kwang Hyun Kim all made the tail end of the list this week. Wainwright continues to turn back the clock, their schedule is hell, but the Cardinals might be interesting.
If you have any questions about the list don’t hesitate to hit me up on Twitter @devjake. Thanks for reading!
All players that are injured or on COVID-19 IL are not included in these starting pitcher rankings.
