Injuries to both Darren Waller and Pat Freiermuth could impact the tight end rankings this week. Waller strained his IT band in Week 12 and is considered week-to-week. Freiermuth is currently in concussion protocol, and his Week 13 availability is uncertain. Be sure to monitor their status throughout the week, as both would be TE1 options this week.

Week 13 Tight End Notes
Week 13 Byes: CAR, CLE, GB, TEN
- Rob Gronkowski is back. Since his return in Week 11, he’s been targeted 18 times and has 194 receiving yards. He hasn’t scored a touchdown in the past two weeks, but he gets a favorable matchup this week against the Falcons. Gronk is my TE4 this week
- Dawson Knox continues to find the end zone. He scored two touchdowns last week and has seven on the season — tied for most amongst tight ends. Knox has a tough matchup this week against the Patriots but has become one of the Bills’ most reliable pass-catching options. Continue to play him with confidence.
- Durham Smythe has been getting more play recently in Miami. While Mike Gesicki ran more routes in the past two weeks, Smythe out-snapped and out-targeted Gesicki in that span. Gesicki is second on the team in targets, and is still a TE1 this week against the Giants — but more of a back-end option. It’s a situation to keep an eye on moving forward.
- Jack Doyle has at least five targets in each of the past three games and scored a touchdown in Week 12. The Colts use all three of their tight ends, but Doyle has emerged as the top option. He gets a plus matchup this week against the Texans, who allow the sixth-most fantasy points to tight ends.
- Cole Kmet has at least six targets in four of the last five weeks. He hasn’t scored a touchdown this year, but his role in the Bears’ offense has increased in the second half of the season. Kmet gets a tough matchup this week against the Cardinals. However, with four teams on their byes, he’s a decent floor play.
