Somewhere, there is a witty NASCAR/Wizard of Oz pun to remind everyone that the AdventHealth 400 takes place in Kansas this afternoon. Unfortunately, I did not find said pun, so we’re going to have to allow an event to take place there without it. My apologies.
The qualifiers are now complete, so we can evaluate the field to gain positional points and maximize our DFS lineups’ potential. In my preview last week, I focused on those with high driver ratings at the track, particularly Hendrick Motorsports. Right on cue, all four of the drivers are in the Top 14 after Saturday.
For the third time this season, Christopher Bell won the pole position. Will the third time be the charm and earn him his first victory? I predict he will finish in the Top 5 and lead some laps, so he’s not an automatic fade. He is also reasonably priced if you have a GPP lineup that could benefit from him.
Of note: Multiple cars crashed out during the qualifiers due to tire-related issues, but this creates some excellent value due to such a low QP for drivers like Denny Hamlin, Ricky Stenhouse, and Joey Logano.
The first table outlines some great value on both FanDuel and DraftKings.
FanDuel Values
Driver | Salary | QP |
---|---|---|
Justin Haley | $5,000 | 15 |
Chris Buescher | $5,200 | 35 |
Austin Dillon | $6,000 | 21 |
Kevin Harvick | $9,000 | 23 |
Joey Logano | $10,000 | 34 |
DraftKings Values
Driver | Salary | QP |
---|---|---|
Michael McDowell | $5,300 | 25 |
Ricky Stenhouse | $6,800 | 36 |
Joey Logano | $9,600 | 34 |
Ross Chastain | $9,700 | 11 |
William Byron | $9,900 | 13 |
Logano comes in as a high-ranking value on both sites strictly because of his low QP. I expressed my concern about possible retaliation costing him some laps in Kansas, but starting 34th squashed those concerns. He will be worth having in cash games for sure.
Justin Haley has been overlooked while quietly finishing in the Top 15 in the previous four races, including third last week. The rookie driver qualified 15th at Kansas Speedway, and he carries some intrigue (and a friendly salary) into this afternoon’s AdventHealth 400.
The “must-haves” in cash games remain the Chevrolets from Hendricks. As you can see in my suggested lineups below, their values simply held steady after Saturday.
