Midseason Fantasy Basketball Awards

The NBA season has reached its halfway point meaning most fantasy teams have now faced each other at least once. Everyone has a grasp on their team’s strengths and weaknesses as well as the vulnerabilities of their opposition. To mark the midway point, I’ll take a look at a few players that have stood out across the first 40 games. The rankings are based on their 9-category numbers across standard 12-team leagues. I present to you my 2019 Midseason Fantasy Basketball awards. For any fantasy basketball related questions,…

Fantasy Basketball: Fringe Report – DeAndre Bembry

It was a busy Tuesday in the NBA with eight games across the league, a number of which came down to the final few minutes. The Atlanta Hawks pushed the Toronto Raptors all the way, eventually going down by three points. DeAndre Bembry continues to thrive in his starting role and looks as though he is going to have value until both Kent Bazemore and Taurean Prince return. I will look over all eight games, extracting what value I can from those players owned in less than 50 percent of leagues. Not using Fantrax to host…

Fantasy Basketball: Fringe Report – Ed Davis

Monday in the NBA brought with it eight games, none of which provided a lot of fringe player action. The Brooklyn Nets traveled to Boston to face the Celtics and although they lost, Ed Davis continues to deliver in the rebounds category. I will run over the games, attempting to find some value for those in search of a new direction. Not using Fantrax to host your fantasy basketball league? Fantasy Basketball: Fringe Report – Minnesota Timberwolves

A seven-game card for Sunday in the NBA, headlined by the Minnesota Timberwolves firing head coach Tom Thibodeau. Ryan Saunders will be the interim head coach for the remainder of the season meaning the fantasy value of a number of players could shift. There is no guarantee, however, players such as Tyus Jones, Josh Okogie, and Gorgui Dieng could find themselves in slightly larger roles. This could mean standard league value is just over the horizon but at this stage, it remains a wait-and-see situation. I will look at the…

Fantasy Basketball: Fringe Report – Bismack Biyombo

A busy Saturday in the NBA with eight games on the slate, led off by the Denver Nuggets edging past a dogged Charlotte Hornets team. Cody Zeller is slated to miss at least a month of action with a broken hand and today it was Bismack Biyombo’s turn to step up. He finished with his first double-double of the season and if this move sticks, he could be a nice pickup in standard leagues. I will look at all eight games, covering Biyombo and those other borderline players navigating their way through the fantasy landscape.…

Fantasy Basketball: Fringe Report – DeMarre Carroll

10 games across the NBA for a Friday, including a thrilling overtime game in which the Indiana Pacers held on to edge out the Chicago Bulls. The Brooklyn Nets handed the Memphis Grizzlies their ninth loss from the past 11 games, with DeMarre Carroll continuing his standard league re-birth. I will cover all 10 games, analyzing the fringe players and who could prove beneficial as the week comes to a close. Not using Fantrax to host your fantasy basketball league? Fantasy Basketball: Fringe Report – Bryn Forbes

Only three games around the league Thursday, led off by Kawhi Leonard making his return to San Antonio to what can best be described as a frosty reception. The Spurs were able to pull away early and were never troubled thanks to the continued strong play of Bryn Forbes. I’ll have a look at all three games and whether any fringe players were able to rock the fantasy boat. Not using Fantrax to host your fantasy basketball league? Fantasy Basketball: Fringe Report – DeMarre Carroll

Wednesday in the NBA and there were nine games on the slate, headlined by a number of blowout victories. The Brooklyn Nets held on the defeat a fast-finishing New Orleans Pelicans squad, helped along by the continued impressive play of DeMarre Carroll. He has stepped up in the absence of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and is a player to add while he is hot. I’ll look over all nine games, discussing those players who stepped up for their teams in an effort to earn a spot on your fantasy roster. Not using Fantrax to host your…

Fantasy Basketball: Fringe Report – Luke Kornet

2019 kicked off with just five games, including Luke Kornet and the New York Knicks pushing the Denver Nuggets all the way. I’ll look over all five games, breaking down those players who are looking to start the new year with fantasy-relevant play, including Kornet who’s time as a starter continues to trend in the right direction. Not using Fantrax to host your fantasy basketball league? Fantasy Basketball: Fringe Report – Willy Hernangomez

Seven games to round out 2018 with a number of borderline fantasy players making noise around the league. Cody Zeller suffered a broken hand and looks set to miss extended time which will make Willy Hernangomez a hot pickup across many formats. I will break down each of the games and which players could be worth a look as the calendar flips to 2019.Not using Fantrax to host your fantasy basketball league?
