Fantasy Football: Week 6 Recap

Thank god we finally saw the return of a little smashmouth football in Week 6. Many of the game's elite RB's shone brightly on Sunday, but Le'Veon Bell was once again among the standouts, rushing for 179 yards and a TD. If I could somehow show the same kind of patience whilst driving as Bell does waiting for a hole to open up in the backfield, my blood pressure would be several points lower. Seriously though, Bell's 28.1 fantasy points against the Chiefs D/ST was widely unexpected. Then again, you can't assume anything this…

Fantasy Football: Week 6 Wide Receiver Matchup Report

We’re back with the wide receiver matchup report for week six. We take a long look toward Minnesota this week, where three of our matchups come from. Not to mention two big-play threats that could be in for enormous days and a sleeper that isn’t even rostered in most leagues. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on Twitter @JonSauber. Favorable Matchups Davante Adams @ Minnesota Vikings Minnesota has a very tough defense, led by star corner Xavier Rhodes. Fortunately for Davante Adams, he won’t be the…

NBA Western Conference Preview

After previewing the Eastern Conference last week, we’ll move onto the Western Conference with the season within reach. The race to the playoffs will be even more exciting in the West, thanks to the level of talent in the conference. With that said, the very top of the conference is much more predictable. For more on the NBA and fantasy basketball, download the 3-and-D Pod on Fantrax Radio and Soundcloud. Follow me on Twitter @JonSauber. Tier One 1. Golden State Warriors There isn’t a whole lot to say here. I know…

Fantasy EPL: Week 7 Review / Week 8 Preview

WEEK 7: Fantasy EPL REVIEW Well, if anyone doubted City, their display at Stamford Bridge proved they’ve turned a corner under Pep. Morata’s injury had a little bit to do with how Chelsea played out the game, but that doesn’t take away from the spirited, high-energy performance by The Citizens. De Bruyne’s well-struck effort was the decider. United and Arsenal met expectations by keeping clean sheets and defeating Crystal Palace and Brighton, respectively. Another team that met and somewhat exceeded expectations was…

Fantasy Hockey Injury Report

It is never easy to foresee the unforeseen. Injuries happen every day in the NHL, and here at FanTrax, our goal will be to help you try to stay on top of those maladies with our weekly Injury Report. Counting all the latest bumps, bites, and bruises, there were 64 players held out of lineups. Several of those are long-term injuries from a previous year. Those players are likely not going to return or have retired. Here are some of the more notable maladies out there and their possible prognosis. Centers Patrice Bergeron …

Fantasy Football: Week 6 Rankings

We see some familiar faces return this week, but also lose the likes of LeSean McCoy, A.J. Green, Dez Bryant and Russell Wilson to the bye. It would be nice to label Week 6 as the most predictable slate of games, but with the Jaguars sitting 3-2, I don't even know anymore. Don't get too down, though! There are plenty of money matchups to take advantage of this week, like the Dolphins' trip to Atlanta or the Browns' visit to Houston. Of course, if the last few weeks have taught us anything, it's that this is a wide-open year…

Fantasy Hockey: Streaming Options

Due to small sample sizes and teams just getting accustomed to each other, it's tough to judge how players do early on in the season. This is generally why you should usually be patient with players. However, sometimes, there are players who were put in good situations and just take off for the rest of the season. A prime example is Zach Werenski, who went on to post 47 points as a rookie defenseman last year or Viktor Arvidsson, who started off hot and then kept on going to finish the year with 61 points in 80 games. I like…

Fantasy Football: Week 5 Wrap-Up

The moment you think you have this fantasy thing figured out, it turns around and bites you on the hand. Big-time injuries, more breakout players, and another crazy week in the NFL. In case there was ever any doubt, DeShaun Watson was your highest scoring player on Sunday with 35.8 points. The Texans lost, but 3 TDs to DeAndre Hopkins makes him a legitimate QB1 going forward. Here's your Week 5 recap: Thumbs UpWhen you're hot, you're hot. Most teams would have settled for overtime, but Aaron Rodgers ain't like the…

NBA Eastern Conference Preview

Less than two weeks. That’s all we have left until we have regular season basketball. Finally. This week I’ll take a look at the Eastern Conference, split into tiers and next week it will be the Western Conference’s turn. First up, a very obvious top two. Tier One 1. Cleveland Cavaliers 2. Boston Celtics This is the championship contender tier. Realistically, you could put the Cavaliers in this tier alone, but I’ll give Boston the benefit of the doubt. Completely flipping their roster could give them a shot at the…

Fantasy Football: Week 5 Wide Receiver Matchup Report

We’re back with our wide receiver matchups this week after a solid week. This week, we once again revisit a few familiar names and secondaries. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on Twitter @JonSauber. Favorable Matchups Randall Cobb @ Dallas CowboysThis game should be a shootout thanks to two really bad secondaries. Randall Cobb has seen 25 targets in three games this year. That number would’ve been higher if the Packers threw the ball more than 26 times last week. This week, it’s far less likely that…
