Anybody got any of them QB1’s left???? I could sure go for some of them QB1’s.
Andrew Luck’s retirement was apparently just the beginning of the oncoming assault that lie ahead. The good news if that if the draft didn’t go your way in a Superflex format, there has never been a season where so many waiver wire quarterbacks have become available so quickly. Sure, Teddy Bridgewater, Mason Rudoulph and Daniel Jones all have limited ceilings, but they also have jobs for the foreseeable future. The quarterback triage is merely the tip of my raging iceberg this week.

Here are 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 3!
- Antonio Brown Crushing Josh Gordon’s Value: With just 33% of the snaps, Antonio Brown had 5 Red Zone targets (3rd most in the NFL after week 2). That means Josh Gordon went from WR2 to WR3 in the blink of an eye. It’s possible that could change at any moment with another AB issue, but for now, Brown appears poised to be peppered with targets.
- The One Miles Sanders Share I Own: As fantasy analysts, sometimes we are going to be wrong. I know, I know shocking. I wanted nothing to do with the Eagles backfield, but I took one shot in one league on Sanders just in case. Now, I hate my life in that league. Doug Pederson is turning the Eagles into a very predictable offense and it’s not going well. Not to mention the O-Line is dreadful.
- Sam Darnold’s Mono: Le’Veon Bell may be getting even more touches now, but the TD upside is now more limited than before Sam Darnold got “The Kissing Disease”. It may be a good time to buy low on Brown, but there’s no doubt these next few weeks will be rough regardless for his owners.
- Adam Vinatieri Keeps Missing Kicks: He’s the greatest clutch kicker and a first-ballot Hall of Famer, but it’s over. The Colts are a good football team. I keep saying it every week and maybe now people will start to listen. They cannot afford to keep missing FG or XP. They just don’t have that kind of cushion.
- DJ Chark Is A Thing: I almost picked him up last week in a few deeper leagues, but I didn’t. Chark isn’t Michael Thomas, but he’s clearly the favored target of Gardner Minshew. That’s all that matters. Now, instead of $1, it will cost $10 to get him this week. I hate that. I really do.
- T.J. Hockenson and Sammy Watkins Disappeared: The latter doesn’t surprise me, because I’m used to Sammy Watkins disappointing me, but Hockenson was annoying. I already owned him in a few leagues and bought in, like many did, wherever he was available and he ghosted me in week 2. I’m just looking for a weekly target floor. If Detroit doesn’t establish that soon, then Hockenson will be labeled a “Week 1 Wonder” by October.
- Devonta Freeman’s 2.2 YPC: The good news, there’s no one I believe on that roster capable of usurping him. The bad news, he’s been an unmitigated fantasy disaster so far. Maybe game script didn’t work in his favor, but if he puts up another turd against Indianapolis this week, you will see a timeshare begin.
- The Packers Offense Can No Longer Support a Second Fantasy WR: Aaron Rodgers is becoming a 200 yard per game passer in an offense far more balanced than what we’re used to in Green Bay. That means the Geronimo Allison vs. Marquez Valdes-Scantling debate will be moot. Neither will be a thing, but Aaron Jones will.
- Baker Mayfield Hates Jarvis Landry: I was hopeful that the arrival of Odell Beckham would free up Jarvis Landry and make him a fantasy asset once again. So far, all Baker wants to do is take shots with OBJ. FML.
- Cam Newton’s Babushka: I. Just. Can’t. Anymore. I love the memes. I hate the fact the post-game ensemble got more preparation than the game plan.
