While the Major League squad is currently in a state of rebuild, the Chicago Cubs currently have one of the most exciting farm systems in all of baseball. And outside of a small gap a few years ago, that’s mostly been the case for the better part of the last decade or so. The Cubs have consistently produced plenty of homegrown talent that has helped them find success over the last decade and break their 108-year curse back in 2016, led by National League MVP Kris Bryant. While this current Chicago Cubs Top Prospects list doesn’t feature any names universally thought of as “elite”, there are plenty of exciting names throughout the top 20, especially on the offensive side.
Depending on where you look, you might see as many as six or seven Cubs in a top-100 list for fantasy and plenty more inside the top 200 or top 300. Many of their top names aren’t far off from contributing at the Major League level either. We already have Hayden Wesneski projected to make the rotation in 2023 along with Matt Mervis, Brennen Davis, and others set to debut in 2023 as well. Mervis might be the buzziest name in the prospect world right now too.
