Welcome to our 2022 team top prospect rankings series. Leading up to Minor League Opening Day, Eric Cross and Chris Clegg will go through all 30 Major League organizations, continuing today with their Chicago White Sox Top Prospects for dynasty leagues. In each installment of this series, you’ll find the top-20 rankings from both Eric Cross (AVG) and Chris Clegg (OBP) along with one prospect each that they’re targeting heavily in dynasty leagues right now. Hopefully, these rankings will help you in your dynasty leagues, and maybe give you some new trade targets to consider.
This White Sox farm system isn’t quite as exciting as it was a few years ago. But that’s what happens when you graduate guys like Yoan Moncada, Michael Kopech, Luis Robert, Eloy Jimenez and others to the Major League squad.
If you aren’t playing your dynasty leagues on Fantrax, you’re missing out on the deepest player pool and most customization around.

Cross’ Prospect to Target: Norge Vera
Picking a prospect to target in this system was tough as there aren’t many I’m actively targeting in my dynasty leagues. Colson Montgomery and Jose Rodriguez are solid targets, but I’ll go with 6’4 right-hander, Norge Vera. After signing out of Cuba last February, Vera was assigned to the Dominican Summer League where he tossed 19 scoreless innings with 34 strikeouts to only five walks. Don’t get too excited about that stat line though as Vera was 21 facing much younger competition. But you should be excited about his low price tag in dynasty leagues and his potential to really rise up rankings in 2022.
Vera works with a three-pitch mix. His four-seam fastball has gained velocity over the last year and now sits more in the mid-90s, touching higher. He’ll also mix in a curveball and a changeup, both of which he can miss bats with. The upside isn’t super high here, but Vera could develop into an SP3/4 if everything clicks. He’ll likely start in Lo-A this season and should begin his climb up rankings early in the season. Now is an ideal time to target him in dynasty leagues while his price tag is still dirt cheap.
Clegg’s Prospect to Target: Jose Rodriguez
I won’t lie to you, the White Sox system is really hard to find a dynasty player that I really want to buy into. Colson Montomgery is the obvious candidate as the White Sox first-round pick in 2021, but I am going to go with another high-end prospect who does not get the love he should.
The player I am buying for dynasty is Jose Rodriguez. Rodriguez had a quiet, but highly productive season. Between three levels (A,A+,AA), Rodriguez posted a .301/.338/.469 slash line with 14 home runs and 30 stolen bases. HIs contact rates were also impressive as he posted an 83 percent in 360 low-A plate appearances and an 89.1 percent rate in 126 high-A plate appearances.
Rodriguez has a Tim Anderson type profile. He doesnt run high walk rates, but also does not strike out often. He puts a ton of balls in play and has enough power to be a threat. Rodriguez is still flying under the radar and you can grab him cheap in a dynasty league.
