We had another stellar showing in Week 3, with all six recommendations holding their opponents under 20 points for the second-straight article. That’s now 14 streamers in a row who have held opponents under 20 points and we’re going to look to keep that streak going here. We’re starting to get into the bye weeks though, so the ownership percentages are going to go up with fewer and fewer teams available. With that in mind, let’s get into our Week 4 D/ST streamers.

Week 4 D/ST Streamers
Los Angeles Chargers (at MIA)
Many people dropped the Chargers because of a tough matchup against the Texans last week but that’s something they’ll regret when they look at the Week 4 schedule. Fantasy owners are going to be ecstatic to see the Dolphins facing their D/ST and that’s what we have here with the Chargers. The simple fact is, this is one of the worst offenses of the last decade. Not only do they have the second-lowest yardage total in the league, but their 5.3 points per game is also easily the worst mark in the NFL
Honestly, its’s a matter of personnel. They have a bad quarterback, a bad offensive line, and even worse position players. That’s really scary against a talented defense like this and it’s no surprise that the Dolphins also rank 30th in sacks allowed and tied for dead-last in giveaways. That’s why Vegas has the Chargers entering this matchup as a 17-point favorite, with Miami projected for a meager 14 points. You’ll want to ride D/ST streamers against the Dolphins all season long if they’re available.
Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. CIN)
The Bengals have been atrocious without A.J. Green the past few years and a Monday Night road game at Heinz Field spells disaster for this struggling offense. Dating back to last season, Cincy is 1-10 without Green, averaging just 18 points per game in those 11 fixtures. In addition, they only surpassed 21 points once in that nightmare stretch. What’s also amazing is the fact that Dalton traditionally struggles in primetime games, posting a QBR below 40 in nearly 20 primetime fixtures. That’s the third-worst mark in NFL history, only ahead of gems like Christian Ponder and Mark Sanchez.
That’s terrifying news in a place like Heinz Field and it would be hard to imagine him doing much with this offense struggling so badly yet again. Not only does this offense tie for the league lead with eight turnovers through their first three games, but they also rank 27th in sacks allowed too. That’s why Pittsburgh enters this matchup as a 3.5-point favorite in a game with a total of 43, making this my favorite D/ST streamer of the week with how widely available they are. Not to mention, it’s always fun having your D/ST streamer play on Monday Night Football.
Indianapolis Colts (vs. OAK)
The Colts have a better defense than many people think and they should have success against a bad offense like this. While none of their statistics are going to jump off the page, this is a D/ST streamer with a lot of talent. Justin Houston and Jabaal Sheard holding down the defensive line is good but having Darius Leonard run the LB core is simply something many teams can’t match. That’s why they had four sacks in each of the first two games and they should wreak havoc on opposing team’s offensive lines. This is one of those offenses they can definitely exploit too, with the Raiders ranked 29th in points scored and 27th in total yardage. That’s bad news on the road and it’s why the Colts enter this matchup as a 6.5-point favorite, with Oakland projected for only 18 points.
Denver Broncos (vs. JAX)
Denver is in a must-win circumstance at home and that’s bad news for the Jaguars. Playing narratives is dangerous but there’s something to be said about a team playing with its back against the wall in one of the toughest environments in the league. Invesco Field is just that and Jacksonville traveling all the way to Denver to face this stingy defense is a recipe for disaster. While Denver has failed to record a sack yet, those will surely come in bunches with Von Miller and Bradley Chubb working the edges.
While the sacks haven’t been there, the Broncos still rank Top-10 in both passing yards and total yardage surrendered. That’s rough for an offense who sits 23rd in points scored and 26th in yards gained, as they’ll surely have trouble moving the ball against this unit. Vegas agrees with our assessment, as this 39-point total is the lowest of the week, with Jacksonville only projected for 18 points.
Week 4 D/ST Streamers to Consider
Houston Texans (vs. CAR): The Texans have one of the best defensive units in football and it’s unlikely that rookie Kyle Allen can duplicate his 4-TD performance from last week. We’re talking about an undrafted free agent and it’s just a matter of time before he pumpkins back into what we expect.
Seattle Seahawks (at AZ): The Cardinals have surrendered the second-most fantasy points to opposing D/STs this season and that’s bad news against a D/ST who has finished Top-10 in every year since the Pete Carroll hiring.
Jacksonville Jaguars (at DEN): Jacksonville is coming off a nine-sack gem on Thursday night and could have similar success against an equally bad Broncos offensive line. It’s not just the O-line that’s bad either, with Denver averaging 15.3 points per game, the third-worst mark in the NFL.
