Let’s start our Monday off right and take down one of these tournaments! We’ve got a nice 8-game NBA DFS slate on our hands, and that will provide us a vast player pool to put all sorts of combinations and permutations together for multi-entry lineups. Onward!
Playing NBA DFS can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also make your head spin. It’s our job to make sure you’re winning as much as possible! There are countless variables that can lead to a player’s individual performance, but I’ve found it’s best to focus on just a few that can lead to better predictability.
My favorite factors to track for NBA DFS targets: Matchups (Offensive/Defensive Ratings), Opportunity (expected player minutes, game pace), and Recent Form.
This is the AM VERSION of a living article that will be updated throughout the day, as news comes through the wire.
LET’S GET INTO THE SLATE!!!!

NBA DFS Targets and Preview for Mar. 22
Kings vs. Cavaliers
In this matchup, we’ve got the 25th and 30th net rated teams, respectively. While they are two of the worst teams in the league, that only means this game won’t be fun to watch. For DFS purposes, we very well could have a player or two that makes it in the optimal lineup from this game, specifically because we’re dealing with the 30th and 23rd ranked defenses in the league. I’m expecting a Cavs win, but with plenty of scoring.
DFS Targets: SAC targets: Fox, Haliburton, Hield, Barnes, and Holmes. CLE targets: Garland, Sexton, and Allen are the only intriguing options on this side, as usage tends to roll their way, consistently.
Thunder vs. Timberwolves
The Wolves have absolutely gotten better since KAT came back, and Anthony Edwards has come into his own. That said, they’re still the 29th net rated team in the league. The Thunder aren’t that much better at 26th rated. I think the winner of this game, will control the pace matchup. The Wolves are 5th in pace, while the Thunder are 12th. Wolves take this one.
DFS Targets: OKC targets: Shai, Dort, Pokusevski, Roby, and Horford. Moses Brown is a certified beast to me, but he’s not going to get the minutes to make himself viable with Horford playing. MIN targets: KAT, Edwards, and Rubio can provide value in this matchup.
Hornets vs. Spurs
The Spurs playoff hopes are hinging on the fact they’ve turned this team into a top 10 defense. While the Hornets are fun to watch, I don’t think their 18th ranked offense has the means to overcome their deficiencies to bring home the win tonight. Especially if Demar DeRozan is back in the mix. I like the Spurs here.
DFS Targets: CHA targets: Ball, Rozier, Hayward, and Washington. SAS targets: Keldon Johnson, DeRozan, and White.
Raptors vs. Rockets
The Rockets have lost 19 straight. The Raptors are not a bad team. There’s not really much more analysis needed.
DFS Targets: I tend to avoid targeting players in a potential blowout game, but stick with the stars if you disagree with my take.
Pacers vs. Bucks
This would be more interesting if this was a game from last year, but this year, the Bucks are hitting on all cylinders, while the Pacers are still learning how to win with this roster construct. The Bucks are top ten in both offensive and defensive rating. That should carry them to the win.
DFS Targets: IND targets: Brogdon, Sabonis, and Turner. McConnell has been playing lights out, but his salary is starting to add to his risk since his minutes aren’t as high as I’d like them to be. MIL targets: Middleton, Giannis, and Portis for value.
Jazz vs. Bulls
Jazz. Blowout. The Bulls aren’t equipped to deal with the best team in the league.
DFS Targets: I wouldn’t, but stick with the stars if you must.
Celtics vs. Grizzlies
This should be a fun one to watch. They are 10th and 12th, in net rating, respectively. The Celtics are best offensively with an 11th rated offense, and the Grizzlies are best defensively, with a 7th rated defense. I think the pace of the game will decide who’s going to take the win. Who will have more possessions? The stats would tell you it’ll be Memphis as they are 8th in the league with this stat, and the Celtics are 21st.
DFS Targets: BOS targets: Tatum and Brown. Morant could easily get Kemba in foul trouble, so I’ll stay away. MEM targets: Morant, Brooks, Anderson, and Jonas.
Hawks vs. Clippers
Clippers. Let’s not get crazy.
DFS Targets: I wouldn’t target anyone from this game but Kawhi, Trae, and Paul George are relatively safe bets every night.
