Fantasy Basketball Daily Forecaster – Mitchell Robinson

After a jam-packed Saturday, the NBA slows down Sunday with only six teams in action. I break down all three games, outlining a number of injuries as well as a couple of players worth considering on such a low-volume day. Mitchell Robinson is one of those players and unbelievably, he is still available in a few leagues. DeAndre Jordan is doubtful with an ankle injury, meaning Robinson should be on the radar in every format.

Matchups for Sunday, Feb. 24

Orlando Magic @ Toronto Raptors

Orlando is only 1.5 games out of the eighth spot in the East and every game is crucial for the young Magic team. Their fantasy value is basically restricted to the starting unit and Terrance Ross who continues to score the ball with regularity off the bench.

In terms of playoff positions, the Raptors are 1.5 games behind Milwaukee for the number one seed. They too are looking to win as many games as they can and Sunday’s game against the Magic could certainly be a danger game. With Fred VanVleet sidelined, newly acquired Jeremy Lin could provide sneaky value for those looking to get points, assists, and steals.

Los Angeles Clippers @ Denver Nuggets

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to be one of the more frustrating fantasy assets across all formats. After the recent trades, it appeared the rookie was in line for a nice boost in his playing time. That has not been the case thus far, although owners may need to exercise a little patience, at least in the short-term.

Much like the Raptors, the Nuggets also find themselves 1.5 games out of the number one seed. Outside of an injury to Trey Lyles, the Nuggets are fully healthy and looking to make a run at the top spot. With Lyles out, Mason Plumlee could continue to have backend standard league value and is worth a look on a day featuring only six teams in action.

San Antonio Spurs @ New York Knicks

Derrick White returned from injury in the Spurs last game, finishing with just seven points in 20 minutes. He has been listed as probable heading into Sunday but all things appear to be trending towards him playing. His production should increase slowly as his playing time ramps up and owners who snapped him up may have to wait a couple of games before he hits full stride.

DeAndre Jordan is doubtful heading into Sunday after rolling his ankle at practice. The Knicks have nothing to play for and are going to be extra careful with the veteran. This could result in Mitchell Robinson seeing an uptick in his playing time, as long as he can stay out of foul trouble. If for some reason he is available in your league, don’t hesitate in picking him up.
