Another week closer to the end of the Fantasy Basketball season. For many, of course, the season is already over. For the rest of us, these are the most important and action-packed weeks. Isn’t it interesting that the most important part of the fantasy season is at the time of least importance for many NBA teams? In a way that adds to the action of fantasy basketball. Something to think about. Anyway, here are some players YOU could add to your basketball fantasy team on Fantrax.
Week 21 Fantasy Basketball Deep Waiver Wire Adds
Andrew Nembhard, PG/SG – Indiana Pacers (10% rostered)
Stat highlight: Ranks 30th in 9-cat fantasy in the 3 games where Tyrese Haliburton and TJ McConnell weren’t playing
With Tyrese Haliburton and TJ McConnell out for at least one more game, and possibly more, the rookie Nembhard will have to carry the load at the Pacers backcourt. On Saturday against the Pistons, Nembhard had a stat line of 19 points, 8 assists, and 2 threes in 33 minutes without Haliburton and McConnell in the lineup. The Pacers are only half a game from the last play-in spot so shutting down the veterans completely isn’t likely, however, Nembhard could be a solid fantasy asset for this week regardless.
Isaiah Livers, PF – Detroit Pistons (12% rostered)
Stat highlight: Ranks 89th in 9-cat in the last 4 games
Livers has been averaging over 36 minutes of playing time over the last 4 Pistons games. With half the team on the IR and the tank for Wembanyama firmly in motion, Livers has been able to get the most out of the opportunity. In the 4 games, his averages were 14.2 points, 2.5 threes, 1.5 steals, and 0.8 blocks. It seems like there won’t be a massive change in the rotation any time soon so, likely, we’ll be able to ride those stats into the season’s end.
Jaden Hardy, SG – Dallas Mavericks (1% rostered)
Stat highlight: 7th best rookie in 9-cat this season
With Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic both out, Hardy was able to play 37 minutes against the Grizzlies and score 22 points with three threes. Both seem like they won’t be returning for the game on Monday, also against the Grizzlies, in which case Hardy would again be a nice option for points and threes off the waiver wire. Irving is currently listed as questionable for Monday (Doncic is out) and Hardy’s value depends strongly on Irving’s playing status so keep an eye open.
Gary Harris, SG – Orlando Magic (2% rostered)
Stat highlight: 43% from three for the season
Harris returned from a two-game absence with big 11 and 12-point performances. That’s not very impressive but he did make 3 and 4 three-pointers in those games off 8 and 10 attempts, which is not bad for a guy off the waivers. Harris also had 2 and 3 steals in those two games. The Magic are scheduled for a 4-game week so Harris might be a nice addition to any fantasy team.
Grayson Allen, SG/SF – Milwaukee Bucks (21% rostered)
Stat highlight: 40% from three for the season
As long as Grayson Allen keeps getting his three-point attempts up, I just can’t quit him. He’s making 40% of them for the season and attempting more than 7 per game in March. As far as supplemental categories – Allen is over 90% from the line for the season (though with limited attempts), and good for 0.8 steals per game. Also – very low turnovers if that’s important to you.
Devonte’ Graham, PG – San Antonio Spurs (24% rostered)
Stat highlight: Ranks 118th in 9-cat since joining the Spurs
Typical for this Spurs team – Graham had a DNP-CD on Friday and played over 30 minutes on Sunday. The team and its rotations are very unpredictable and therefore hard to rely on for fantasy purposes. It does seem that if Tre Jones and Malaki Branham miss more games, Graham can have more big-scoring games like he had earlier this year. In Sunday’s game, he scored 20 points with 4 threes, a steal, and a block. The Spurs will play 4 games this week so locking Graham in in weekly leagues might not be totally disastrous.
