Welcome to week 21 of the fantasy basketball season and for the majority of leagues the playoffs begin! Congratulations if you made it to the dance and if your playoffs begin in a week good luck to all still remaining! No matter the case, the waiver wire remains as crucial as ever in these pivotal matchups. If Tyus Jones is still available in your leagues make sure to scoop him up as Ja Morant has no return in sight. Here are five more players you need to add during these intense times. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs!
Week 21 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire
Trey Murphy III, SF/PF – New Orleans Pelicans (63% rostered)
Trey Murphy III has been a waiver wire darling this season but for some reason, he continues to be overlooked and not rostered nearly enough. Murphy is an absolute must-add player. He’s been a top-50 player in fantasy for two weeks now and has scored at least 15 points and four rebounds in four straight games. Zion Williamson is out for two weeks and Brandon Ingram is dealing with a sprained ankle furthering the case to add Murphy. Over his last four games, Murphy is averaging 22.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.5 blocks, and 4.5 3PTM. That’s some solid production across the board and he’s fresh off a 41-point performance Sunday. Murphy is averaging 29 minutes per game on the season but has seen that increase to 37 per game in the month of March. Mardi Gras just passed in New Orleans, but Murphy is keeping the party going for the rest of the year! Must-add.
Tim Hardaway Jr., SG/SF – Dallas Mavericks (56% rostered)
Please take a brief moment to pause and go pick up Tim Hardaway Jr. off the waiver wire. Hardaway Jr. is fresh of a top-15 fantasy performance of the week averaging 21.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.0 steals, and 5.5 3PTM over his last four games while shooting 56% from the field. Hardaway as scored at least 16 points in seven of his last eight games including four 20-point games during that span. Luka Doncic has already been ruled out for Monday’s game against Memphis while Kyrie Irving is listed as questionable. He’s still produced with both of them on the floor but with at least one out he’s a must-add player.
Talen Horton-Tucker, SG/SF – Utah Jazz (39% rostered)
You hear that? It’s THT and it’s dynamite baby! Talen Horton-Tucker is on an absolute tear and needs to be added right away. Over his last three games, THT is averaging 27 points, 5 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.7 3PTM. Just all-around great stats across the board making him a great addition to your fantasy rosters. Horton-Tucker has posted at least 3 rebounds and 3 assists in seven of his last eight games and at least 5+ rebounds or assists in seven of his last nine games. The Jazz are missing a few players with Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton out of the lineup so THT time is here to stay. Add away!
Jalen Suggs, PG/SG – Orlando Magic (27% rostered)
Jalen Suggs continues to produce solid numbers for the Orlando Magic and deserves our attention. Especially since Franz Wagner suffered an ankle injury Saturday and may miss some time this week. Suggs has posted at least 15 points and a combination of at least 4 rebounds or assists in four of his past five games. During that span, he’s averaging 15.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.8 3PTM. Not too shabby if you ask me! In his last game, Suggs posted 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. Pretty hard to find that multi-category production off the waiver wire. I’m adding and riding this Magic from Suggs!
Austin Reaves, SG/SF – Los Angeles Lakers (39% rostered)
Austin Reaves continues to play a huge role for the LeBron James-less LA Lakers. Reaves is averaging 17 points, 2.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 1.3 3PTM over his last three games. Reaves has scored at least 16 points and 4 assists in five of his last six games while topping 7+ assists in three of those games. Sign me up for those points and assists totals all day! James is not close to a return so fire up Reaves the rest of the way. He’s an absolute must-play if Anthony Davis misses games as well which we all know can happen quite often.
