Week 18 is here, and this usually is one of the tougher weeks to put together my RB rankings. But, lucky for you, the playoffs race is so tight when it comes to the seeding, that all the top teams should play their starters the whole game. Unless it is a blowout.
But, every top team except for the Buccaneers is either playing for a playoff spot or has a chance to get the number one seed. San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Minnesota all have a shot at the number one seed. Buffalo and Cincinnati also have a shot at the number-one seed. However, their Week 17 matchup is still up in the air.
On the other hand, if you have Travis Etienne Jr., Derrick Henry, Aaron Jones or Kenneth Walker III, they should all have top games, as they are all on teams fighting for the division or a wild card spot.
Running Back Notes:
- Kenneth Walker is my RB9 on the week and has been hot as of the last two weeks. Last week he has 133 yards on 23 attempts and the week before he had 107 yards on 26 attempts. This week the Seahawks have the Rams who are middle of the road when it comes to defending the run. Also, the Rams are playing for nothing, so who knows how long they leave the starters out. The Seahawks need to win this week to keep hold of their wild-card spot. All signs point to Walker having a huge game and a lot of usage.
- Najee Harris is another RB I love this week and I have him as my RB10. Pittsburgh has been hot as of late and still has a shot at the seventh seed. Harris has come alive during this three-game win streak, finishing as the RB 14, 17, and 7. He has a great matchup against the Browns this week, who are giving up just under 24 fantasy points per game to RBs. Harris is an easy RB2 this week.
- The Giants are another team who clinched the playoffs, but can’t move up in seeding with a win. So, I wouldn’t start Saquon Barkley this week against the Eagles. I do have Barkley as my RB28 because there is a chance he does play the first half. And even if he plays the first half, he could still have a solid game. But, we don’t know how much he will play, so the safest bet is to bench him this week. The Giants have no reason to play him the whole game, especially with his injury history.
- Lastly, I have Isiah Pacheco as my RB20. The Chiefs have the number one seed, and with a win over Las Vegas, they will clinch the one seed. The Raiders are already eliminated, so I don’t see them putting up a huge fight. However, I know the Chiefs want to win this game and the Raiders’ rush defense is one of the worst this season. I expect Pacheco to be a league winner this week and see all the red zone touches.
