Fantasy Football 2023: Week 7 RB Rankings

Going into these Week 7 RB rankings, there are a bunch of moving parts going around that you need to check out. The main one is Christian McCaffrey might be out this week with an oblique injury. Then Tony Pollard, Derrick Henry, and Breece Hall are all out this week with a bye.

This season has been plagued with injuries, so these rankings are meant to help you adapt every week. You need to know who to pick up or who to start based on these rankings.

Week 7 RB Notes:

  • Kenneth Walker III is my RB1 this week. Yes, I have him over Austin Ekeler against the Chiefs. However, Walker has the Cardinals this week who are giving up the third most fantasy points to running backs this season. Walker has been impressive this season and I expect a huge game from him this week.
  • James Cook is my RB13 this week. Cook has already been the workhorse, but I expect his role to increase with the Damien Harris injury. The Bills have the Patriots, who are giving up just under 20 fantasy points per game to running backs. The Patriots don’t look themselves on defense this year and I expect the Bills to go up big. This means a lot of carries will go to Cook to seal the game.
  • Kareem Hunt almost breaks into the top 20. I have him as my RB21. Jerome Ford did get more carries than Hunt, but it was Hunt who broke away for a touchdown. Ford only had 17 carries to Hunt’s 12. The Browns have the Colts this week, who are giving up 21 fantasy points to running backs per game. I think this is the week Hunt breaks out for a huge game.
  • Roschon Johnson should be a huge pickup this week. He will be in line to have the bulk of the carries and he has the Raiders this week. The Raiders are giving up just over 20 fantasy points per game to running backs. The Bears tried out D’Onta Foreman last week as he finished with 65 yards and a fumble. This will be Johnson’s workload and he has a great defense to show off against.
