Fantasy Football 2024: Week 12 RB Rankings

As we roll into my Week 12 RB rankings, we have a ton of questions revolving around players like Jonathan Taylor and Aaron Jones. Both started hot this year, but have fallen off the last four games. We also have to look at the Week 12 bye as James Cook, Bijan Robinson, Breece Hall, and Alvin Kamara shake up my RB rankings. This week is extremely crucial as we only have three more games till playoffs start. And if you want to make the playoffs then pay attention below.

Running Back Notes

  • Let’s start with Tyrone Tracy Jr. as my RB13 against the Buccaneers. Tracy has come along as a great fantasy pick-up this year and has a great matchup against a Buccaneers defense that is giving up 22.5 fantasy points per game to RBs this season. Tracy is averaging 18 carries in his last three games. And in those three games, he has 314 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The time to start Tracy is now and should be at least a flex option for the rest of the year.
  • Next, I have Jones as my RB20 against the Bears. Jones has been terrible as of late. He hasn’t scored since Week 7 and has not rushed over 100 yards since Week 3. Jones is still averaging around 15 carries a game, but the problem is Cam Akers. Since coming on Akers is averaging right under 10 carries a game. Neither back is overperforming, but Akers is still there taking carries away from Jones. I wouldn’t start Jones this week even with a decent matchup. He had three favorable matchups and averaged 8.7 fantasy points in that stint. He is a no-go against the Bears this week.
  • Lastly, I have Kareem Hunt as my RB19 against the Panthers. This is a great matchup, but Isiah Pacheco could suit up this week. But even if he does, I don’t expect him to take away all of Hunt’s carries. Hunt did cool down last week as he only put up six fantasy points. But, he has a great chance to redeem himself as he has the worst fantasy defense against RBs. The Chiefs were in some tight games their last two weeks which took away from the run game. Hunt only had 14 carries in each of those games versus his 20 plus in the four games prior. I expect the Chiefs to get out to a huge lead against the Panthers and then run the ball all game. I expect Hunt to bounce back and get 20-plus carries this week.
